joebiz Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I'm so pissed right now I can't even see straight. This organization stole around $8000 from me today and claims I can "appeal" to get my motherfking money from them in 6 months. It wouldn't matter if it was $800 or $8m it's the principle of the matter. DO NOT use these criminals to shuffle money around, under any circumstance. MrDoctor Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I used to get screwed big time by PayPal. Recently, they decided to limit and freeze my account, for a random reason, those mother fucks ! I've learned that PayPal is good for buying online, but as a merchant, prepare to get screwed at least once. I wish elon musk was still heading the business. So much potential, but idiots run the company now. Love the PayPal debit card through. Their customer service has gotten better over the years joe, give them a call. uzzirider Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I remember the good ole days of my "free" account where they took no fees for anything, so long as you didn't use a credit card. Many years ago they forced me out of that fee structure once they got the monopoly that they still enjoy today. Sadly they have no competition and now that ebay owns them you're really screwed. I pay my CC processing company $9000+ a month to process my transactions. I'd sure rather have that 100k a year in my pocket but it's just the cost of doing business. uzzirider Report post Posted June 1, 2012 You REALLY didn't think they would be free forever did you? Maybe you're newer to paypal, but back "in the day" payments from a bank account would take a week or so to go through. They would park that money into their giant investment pool and make a return, much like a mutual fund. They probably still do something like that, and now they ding you for ~3% too. On top of all that, they're a shitty company, as evidenced by this thread. fcuk 'em.

joebiz Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I've been using paypal for 10+ years with limited success. Just recently I opened up a new account under a new corporate name. Talking to these cretins is like speaking to animals. They are the internet equivalent of snake oil salesman and should be put on trial. tonysnow Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I always feel it's a ticking time bomb for those merchants who have never had an issue with PayPal. Criminal organization does not begin to explain what they are. I refuse to use them for any of my websites. In November of last year they started doing those random reviews, then shut down my account! For no reason! There wasn't any paperwork I did not send in for verification but it still was not sufficient! All in all, I was out $15k. Whatever. Rawr Report post Posted June 1, 2012 When sending money paypal to paypal, going to personal tab - gift doesn't charge fees. More people use cheaper alternatives, less paypal out there: https://www.dwolla.com/

djantlive Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I used paypal from day 1 when the service first stared in 1999. I also worked there for a few years. Their service does suck and there are lots of scams going on, not directly from Paypal but it's a huge target. Bottom line, never use Paypal for large transactions. Protection is next to none compared to credit card. If you are a merchant or website that takes paypal, you will lose money and have more headache compare to credit cards. The 1% savings is just not worth it. The others out there such as google checkout, amazon are even worse. Don't bother. I haven't used square but that's for small payments. TheFilipinoStig Report post Posted June 2, 2012 I've never liked them, but as many of you know you must use them if you deal with ebay (like I do). What other auction sites are out there (particularly for antiques) that do NOT use Paypal?
goldroger Report post Posted June 3, 2012 Paypal screwed me over 10k because my account was suspicious for having too many orders in a short amount of time. They can go fuk themselves. I called customer support and the "specialist" said that unfortunately this cannot be appealed and that I need to find someone else to use. I'm using 2checkout now though which also accept paypal but they're fees are rape. I'm going to go with a merchant account soon. Need DAT LAMBO!!!!
