Sounds wicked.

I'm curious, has anyone done an ITB megasquirt conversion on any Lambos? Seems that would be a nice modernization and a nice upgrade. Also likely easy to do.

Sounds just like the Pantera I had that was tuned just a bit, and did'nt run smooth under 15 rpm. Not the sound you want on a Countach.

One of the few videos that could use some cheesy '80s disco music in the background to drown out that sound. Who was getting hit with the 2x4 at the start?

this car has not a "flat" idle...looks to me it goes up and down and needs a tune up

p.s. the carbed countach sound GREAT

Is someone playing ping pong in the background or is that car backfiring like a mofo? Sounds like it needs work.

I can tell you this my 84 sounds nothing like this car. It idles well and sound great while driving. The only problem I have with mine is a bit of a hesitation problem around 2,000-2,500 RPM. I have been working on getting the carbs 100% and will post a video after I am done.

What is clear from the video that this car is in need of some serious carburetor adjustment and tuning. I would not be surprised if he had a few spark plug wires incorrect and the firing order was out. Bottom line is when the carbs are out on these 5 liter cars it is very noticeable and gives them a bad reputation.

As usual, you're a dumb ass.

The DD's take just as much $ and time to set up correctly as the FI cars. When done correctly the DD's are a better car and they sound insane. Since, you don't drive a lot and you don't drive in different elevations, the DD is the way to go. They also hold more value in the long run.

See you soon dickhead, we are drinking early.

I have to agree, sounds like liquid ass. But can be rectified.

i had the carbs redone and properly tuned: engine sound is AMAZING. It's very hard to tune 6 twin body Webers also here in Italy where Webers are very common... i think very low USA cars can have well tuned Webers, and the one you have posted has not.

I Think a Weber specialist is unfindable in the USA.

A bad tuned carbed car almost does not work at all and the sound becomes noise.

Here there is just one FI Countach and its intake sound is poor if compared with a carbed one.

When the twelve carburator inlet ports start opening and air flow in the airbox grows up, neither Mozart can compares to that heaven's music.

Please do not try to throw shit on carbed Countach: Countach are ALL carbed, they were forced to install that shitty FI just to achieve USA air pollution rules so you too could buy that fantastic car.

ciao

As usual, you must have started drinking early!

The F/I cars are far easier to maintain, start easier, restart easier and with a few mods run much better than the DD... As for value...A good DD Qv seems to be around 230K.. A good F/I car costs around half.. As the DD rises in value, as will the F/I car, at a lesser investment. I look at it simply that I can have CT QV F/I and an Aniiv for the price of a DD.. If a killer deal arose, I would consider a DD, but otherwise F/I is the way to go inmo.

:iamwithstupid:

On a similar note, I feel exactly the same way about the BB. If you want injected, get a TR. :icon_mrgreen:

Generally speaking I think if you're gonna go through the hassle of getting an older car, go all the way and do it right. A huge part of the older car appeal is carbs, IMHO.

Yes my 84 needs a tune up and clutch. Still a perfect foundation for a round body side draft. (pop pop pop)

Oh come on now..... don't you love the sound of my 5000QV (fuel injected) with the Quicksilver? ;-)

Mike

Mike, the exhaust sound is the same, the intake sound is not. But i just reply to Allan... he is saying that a carbed CT has not a good sound... THAT'S RIDICOLOUS!

of course there are not BAD sound CT: it's like saying 25th are ugly. That's not true, they are gorgeous too, but S and QV are even better...

ciao

Mike your car is awesome.

When you watch that clip of you revving the engine there is no smoke nor fumes visible.

That tells me that things are perfect in the sense of air the fuel mixture.

Easier done with the fuel injection, however I have seen enough FI cars that have had their share smoke and fumes while revving the engine. You have a good car!

Allen you know that the black 5000S should not sound like that. Tony said it needs a tune up and knowing him and as busy as he is i would be willing to bet that it had been some time maybe before that car had even been started. The red one sounded fine, as in healthy, but i would bet has the stock box muffler on it.
