Wiggs, has the car been on a dyno yet?? Are these numbers (2000hp, 330mph) aspirational or based on science?

Changed final drive ratio. It's not currently geared for 330. It's geared for 297.

At least you'll get better gas mileage at highway speeds compared to the factory final drive!

Is any work to the transmission necessary to withstand the 2000rwhp? Can you share any pictures of the engine?

2000whp is based on the components in the car. We have two brand new dynojet dynos that it will be going on as soon as the dyno cell is in place at our new location.

Im curious to see the point of the 330mph speedo. I mean are there even tires that can handle those speeds? I thought the veyron tires were specially made for the 272 and they only lasted like 5-10 minutes at those speeds.

And is it me.. but dont you specificly say here that the car makes 2000whp and that the car is DONE?

I was more caught up by the comment that he is testing out heat shield material for Nasa.

There's a very specific engineering reason for that. And Veyron has street tires. Race tires can handle those speed for distances as short as a mile.

Assuming 15% driveline losses, am I correct to assume we are looking at around 2350 HP at the crank?

We figured around 2400HP crank, yes.

Good Luck!

I cant wait to see the final numbers! So will this car be ready for TX mile next month? what speeds are you hoping for in a standing mile?

Thanks! No. We didn't plan on doing TX mile this year. Once it's dyno-tuned, we'll do some standing mile stuff at a private runway to make sure everything is dialed in first. TX Mile next year though! That's why we did the 6-point cage!

The main problem I have with extremely high HP aspirations is doing it on a very high strung, high compression motor.

A stock Viper or one bored out to 9 liters would make more sense for those power levels through forced induction IMHO. I think that's also pushing quite a bit.

And even if you get those power levels, what now about the long term health of such a motor? Transmission, chassis?

This is not being billed as a one trick pony race car but an everyday street car.

A lot of work ahead. :icon_thumleft:

Sounds good.

Just change the exhaust tips and it will look solid !

I think you'll like them better when the titanium tips are in and welded to the mesh. Regardless, it makes one cool face! :lol2:

Wiggs, one thing I will say is that you are a good sport. I do hope your project ends well. I only reccomend that on your next one, you keep it under wraps till its ready to go... Nasa didnt unveil the space shuttle without it being ready to fly, I would of thought since you are using the same engineers youd of done the same. :icon_mrgreen:

:icon_thumleft: We did use them! Didn't you know we faked the moon landing!

And I completely agree about the early unveil. I just wasn't going to act like we were too good NOT to show up with a car at an event we were sponsoring regardless of it being done or not. I really like the Pgh C&C guys and a lot are my friends so I wasn't going to leave them high and dry.

More importantly Wiggs, is your shop going to work on trucks?

Yes. We are currently developing a line of products for the 8.3L ISC Cummins and looking at doing a full rebuild/upgrade of the crazy-modded 72 Duece and a half ex-military thing!

I forgot to mention, that's a 265/30 front tire! All Murcis should have that!
