How much to pay for a TWIN TURBO GALLARDO?

Hey Guys,

I recently sold my 07 white Gallardo Spyder and I am now in the market for a E-GEAR Twin Turbo Gallardo. I have been doing extensive research on how much to pay for these cars, and I am having a tough time understanding the value of these cars as its very different from stock.

The only 2 tuner cars I am personally looking at is UGR and Heffner. From what I am seeing online, UGR cars tend to bring more money, which is understandable due to their reputation. I have spoken with both Kevin and Jason over the phone and they both are great people to deal with and have extensive knowledge on these cars, so I am comfortable owning one from either tuner.

Now getting down to pricing. Almost everywhere online, dealers/owners are asking close to 100% for MODS on these built cars. Obviously these cars are not selling and just sitting...but whats a realistic price? whats a reasonable offer? Here are a few examples:

http://www.celebritycars.com/detail-2008-l...d-10234257.html

The first TT car which is at Celebrity motor cars is an 08 superleggera UGR "R" Version build.

The asking price is $266k

now this car stock is worth probably $150-155k and another $110k in the UGR kit so its exactly 100% for mods?

Now on the other hand you have:

http://www.elitemotorsports.com/2006-Lambo...s-78726/3577252

2006 OrangeGallardo Spyder Stage III UGR with less than 1000 miles on the build, 4k miles on ODO

the Asking price is $185k

Now the car stock is roughly $130-135k with another $95k in the UGR kit, so its less than 50% for the MODS.

Both cars are sitting and not selling? you would think with the way cars are priced on www.urmotors.com the orange spyder at elite autos would be sold?

Also Scotty and Giancarlo both sold their TT cars on this forum and were asking 50% or less for mods after sitting for a while.

So again, what are these MODS really worth?

I know there is no secret answer to this question. Just want to get a feel for the market and find out what these cars really trading for.

Thanks

50% for the mods is reasonable... maybe a little more if the build is under warranty...

I agree, sad, but agree.

The market for these cars is relatively small, but on the other hand there aren't tons of good TT cars out there either, so it gets down to how much a specific buyer is willing to pay and how quickly a specific owner really wants to sell. As a seller, if you're willing to wait on the money you can usually do pretty well. For a UR car I would say the car's value + 50% of the mods would be the very low end (usually a situation where the seller really wants to move the car fast) as I know many have been sold for more than that, including more than a few that were sold for more than the cost of the car + the cost of the mods. Sometimes when those guys in Russia or the ME want one of the cars they want it right then and whether it's $200k or $275k isn't material.

I have an 06 UGR car with a LOT, let me say a LOT again, of modifications. In fact I couldn't even tell you on top of my head how much total is in aftermarket parts are in my car but somewhere $225K--$275K on top of the price of the car.

I'm not selling but if you called me tomorrow to try and buy my car, I probably wouldn't entertain an offer less than the SL listed above is asking ($266K).

Its probably more along the lines of you "get what you pay for" when it comes to a GTT. Sometimes there are cases when a clean, sorted car is just priced below the market value because people are concerned about something that may not be an issue.

Examples: Gianca and Scotty sold both of them below market price in my opinion. I've seen both in person and both were exceptionally good cars for smoking deals. Gianca wouldn't have sold his so cheap but there was a business opportunity he couldn't pass up. Scotty's car is beautiful and Lambo dealership didn't do a great job of selling it in my opinion but its ok as a friend bought it anyhow and got a good deal!

I think the two cars you mentioned can't really be compared apples to apples either. In my opinion the convertible cars seem a lot less desirable for a TT setup where as an '08 SL is the "ideal" setup for guys looking to TT them. With those two specific cars I feel like the SL is a tad overpriced and the vert is a tad underpriced in comparison to what else is out there. As mentioned, there have been some STEALS had as well such the R package car that sold from Elite Autos LLC in Jonesboro for $155k (granted it was an early UR car). If you're not in a hurry, I'd wait for a car like that to come up... As far as a consistency, I think it's going to be hard to find. I think a lot more TTG's will come for sale as the new body style comes out and as TTG owners upgrade to TT Aventadors. It will be a buyers market before long.

Lambofan35,

If your car has lets say $250k in mods and its worth $115k stock.

Your in the right ballpark at $250k for the car @ 50% of the MODS so your not way off according to the responses here.

Again, its the people expecting 100% return on their builds which throws me off.

RedGTS, I agree w/ you on the overseas buyers paying a premium, but realistically how many of those are out there??

oufan2929,

I agree with you for the most part. that 06 orange spyder at Elite Motorsports has been there for over 2-3 months now and has still not sold.

My recommendation, call a tuner you like and see if they can recommend a car for you. They know what's available and what kind of upgrades a car may need to be the car for you.

The 06 spyder is on AEM and is an older egear car that has several things to improve on if you want "R" version speed.

Otherwise that superleggera is going rate honestly give or take if you like the color combo. You may think $100k for the UGR upgrades but most of the higher end UGR builds have much more in them then $100k kit. They can be over $200k in UGR upgrades sometimes.

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. I have always bought my cars after someone else did the work on them. I bought my first Viper from a guy while it was still at UGR. I paid pretty high dollar as it was quite awhile ago. I would say paying 50% for mods on a car is about right. UGR has only been doing lambos for a short time they will come down in price. It also depends on the sellers motivation. Usually when buying modified cars like this you have to either pay cash for them or put a sizable down payment on them. That gets rid of quite a few potential buyers. There was an 08 UGR Spyder on here a couple of weeks ago that went for $185K. I thought that was a good deal, when I called it was already gone. If you are not in a hurry there are deals to be had. That is where I am at right now, looking for a deal, cash in hand.

I paid what I felt was fair for my car. Looking back, I may have been a little quick on the trigger, but I basically paid market for the car (mint 4k mile '05) plus a little over 50% for the mods. Lambofan35 is right, the R builds tend to have A LOT more spent on them than the starting prices listed on the website. The Spyder would probably be fast enough and the sound these TT cars make is intoxicating. I like the coupe more because the glass hood shows off the goodies, but I can't say I wasn't tempted as hell to go with a Spyder. What sold me on my car was that it was an R build with Motec.

I know I will get heat for this, but the UGR cars seem to retain more value than those built by other tuners.

SW also has a grey SL listed on his site. I bought my UGR GTT from him and he's great to deal with.

LamboFan35,

That Black "R" version on eBay only has $100-110k in build receipts according to the dealer in Las Vegas. The clutch still needs to be upgraded, which is why they have only listed it at 1300hp, and I need to find out about the transmission as well.

Now on the other hand they have this car:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini...7#ht_483wt_1655

Thats Daves car which is a Stage 2 R version which is listed at $300k according to Kevin, it does have close to $200k in build receipts and if this car was listed at $250-$266k it would make complete sense due to the upgrades done to it, and would keep it at 50% for the mods.

medici78,

Thats for your input. It looks like right around 50% is the sweet spot. I spoke w/ SW last night, i cant believe he answered my phone at 8pm! thats customer service right there haha! i contacted him regarding the orange spyder and he says he has a deal pending on it. Hopefully he is able to move it. I did ask him about the grey SL as well. He is currently asking $285k for that car, which is also an R version w/ built tranny (final gears only). Do not know how much money was put into it though.

Here is the listing for anyone interested.

BigBadLambo,

UGR is currently on top of their game. They are pumping out these TT Lambos like they are going out of style. Eventually they will flood the market and a ton of UGR Lambos will be for sale and once the Cabrera is released and Aventador goes out of warranty, as mentioned before. It looks like you have some Vipers, so you know damn well what you get for your mods lol!

I think the fact that for as many cars that UGR puts out and how many come up for sale testifies to the level of quality they put into their work. Folks appreciate owning a high-hp car without the high-hp car drama. I know I won't be trading my Gallardo for the Cabrera, even more so since I have a 6-speed manual. ;)

It was an 04 I believe actually. It still had a cassette player in it, lol.

I called the seller and UGR as I was going to buy it just for the hell of it cause I thought it was a good deal but the seller tells me its good for 900hp on pump gas even though it was an "R" version and UGR confirmed it had several parts from an older generation of turbo kit as it was one of the first cars done at UGR. UGR wanted a good amount of money to bring it back up to current specs but I'm sure it would have been worth it in the long run. It just wasn't a turn key ride to get the current level of performance that we all come to expect from UGR. It was a LP members car I think long ago, maybe RIPPER?

My opinion-This was a cheap car and probably a deal if you could overlook not having the latest and greatest options but maybe your a DIY guy and could live with some of the older parts. If you just wanted a "Twin Turbo Gallardo" then this was the entry level to get into.

odd, all those pics and none of the engine bay?

I think this is by far the best value I have seen on a lp560 Heffner Bolt on Kit, obviously its sold!

09 Black with 400 miles on the chassis listed for $185k. Its basically a free TT Kit for that price.

Im sure the buyer must have negotiated since the dealer had it listed for that.

I agree with you ... I saw the ad and figured if it's in AZ, then Heffner Kit on this car, was probably installed by Supercar Specialists (in AZ) ... So I gave Brian (@ Supercar Specialists) a call ... He confirmed it was one of his builds ...

But not the latest generation Heffner Kit ...

He also said the car was owned by an older guy with a very nice car collection, and he took excellent care of his cars.

I called the dealership the next day ... and it was sold ...
