How much to pay for a TWIN TURBO GALLARDO?

I agree with you ... I saw the ad and figured if it's in AZ, then Heffner Kit on this car, was probably installed by Supercar Specialists (in AZ) ... So I gave Brian (@ Supercar Specialists) a call ... He confirmed it was one of his builds ...

But not the latest generation Heffner Kit ...

He also said the car was owned by an older guy with a very nice car collection, and he took excellent care of his cars.

I called the dealership the next day ... and it was sold ...

The good thing about the older kits, it doesnt cost much at all to update to the new kits. Dont quote me on this but I think less than $10k to update it to the new kit is what Jason told me if I remember correctly. The car looks amazing in the pics. It is sad they didnt have any pics of the engine bay though....

LamboFan35,

That Black "R" version on eBay only has $100-110k in build receipts according to the dealer in Las Vegas. The clutch still needs to be upgraded, which is why they have only listed it at 1300hp, and I need to find out about the transmission as well.

Now on the other hand they have this car:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini...7#ht_483wt_1655

Thats Daves car which is a Stage 2 R version which is listed at $300k according to Kevin, it does have close to $200k in build receipts and if this car was listed at $250-$266k it would make complete sense due to the upgrades done to it, and would keep it at 50% for the mods.

I don't think it's a stage 2 R. 1600 HP and 67mm turbos is a stage 1 R.

Mullet,

Your probably right. Just reading what the AD states. Didnt realize it costs $200k for Stage 1 "R" as prices are not listed on URs website.... The car looks pretty stock to me besides the engine mods.

I would never buy one but if you insist, i would hold out for the best discount on the mods. It will always be a buyer's market, the cars are too radical.

You always get fucked in one way or another when modding a car heavily, period.

Please share your personal experiences with your statement. We have aprox 60 full builds going on in the shop at this time. A lot of them are members here. I'm sure they would like to read any of your personal experiences. Thank you.

Rohan, be sure to experience both or all brands of tuners cars before you make a purchase, ESP the 09+ Gallardos. It will be well worth the price of travel. I can set you up with a demo ride when you are ready. From there your decision will be very clear. Thanks.

Batman, I know you are hung up on this subject of reliability, but let me explain something to you my friend.

Despite the fact that we are well aware that an issue could potentially arise from our highly modded cars, we are willing to take that risk because the reward and the emotional satisfaction obtained when there isn't an issue is just that much greater to us. For example, I bet you are willing to stuff Megan Fox just once despite the fact that you will get infected with every STD known to the human kind, but that satisfaction you will achieve when you bust your measly nut over her mutilated body parts would yield an orgasm within itself. So you see, this is a risk you are willing to take for something you love. Same concept with us gear heads with one exception… our risks are much more bearable than yours.. :icon_mrgreen:

We allready had a shitfest you and me, in another one of the UGR threads earlier, don't you remember? Dig it up and read on but just to refreshen your memory it had a blown UGR car or two in it..

I am not taking anything from any tuner/owner out there other than the fact that cars WILL blow and you WILL lose money in 99% of every case, period.

So you have no first hand experience? You are bringing up one of the Russian car's that had a viscous coupling break and the same car that was abused and ended hurting a engine. Other than that you have nothing?

We have over 100 cars out there. Only two have hurt engines from driver error. No too bad huh? Out of 100 stock cars, there could have been just as many issues if they were abused. If you hate modified cars so much, why visit the TT section of this forum? Hmmm. BTW, you and I didn't have a "shit feast", you had shit and is about the same thing you are showing up here with again.

One thing tuners/shops can't control is when a customer treats the car like a red headed step child. ANY car can blow up from negligible owners. Even OEM cars.

Common sense is also part of owning a highly modified car. Example would be you get bad gas and the car is pinging, you decide to keep pounding it and guess what will happen? it will take a shit. Plugs go bad and car is not running right, rather than call tuner , you continue to beat on it.

From what i have seen lately the UG cars are more reliable than the 1300whp GTRs. UG have pretty much bullet proof these cars. Does that mean a turbo can't go bad? NO..shit OEM parts go bad on a daily basis.. thats why after market extended warranties are a billion dollar business..lol

I think when something goes wrong its what a GOOD shop does to take care of the customer after. I think customers should give a shop the chance to get it fixed before running on forums and acting like little bitches.

Kevin, I will be in the Orlanda, FL area for the next few days. If you have anyone in the area that would be willing, I am more than willing to drive an hour or two.

The only TT car I have ever had a ride in is in my buddies superleggera built by Heffner, which used to be Giancas car on this forum.

So it would be great to have a ride in a UGR car to compare.

you can PM, email or call me.

Thanks

I met a really cool UGR owner who lives in Orlando but I think his car is at UGR getting some more upgrades when we last talked. Rohan1 if you want to drive to South FL a couple hours from Orlando, message me and maybe I'll try to see if we can link up with my UGR car.

Don't forget though that was an '05 with almost 30K miles on it, unless you are referring to another car.

I think it was 20k miles Cody, but the car was extremely clean... Either way it was a steal. But no doubt the miles hurt it a bit. Definitely a unique instance for a UR TTG...

Never thought about it like that, but there's some serious truth to it! That's insane! Kudos to the success you guys are having with heavily modded cars!

I wondered how this thread blew up to 3 pages all of the sudden. I see Slowpoke/UGR is back in and we are in the middle of the reliability debate. About as exciting as the disaster know as the RHersey thread right now.

To the OP. How much to pay? Pay what you want. It is as simple as that. You aren't going to go in to any discussion on a used TT and suddenly talk them down by throwing numbers and stats at them on previous sales. This isn't a commodity were you can show 15 cars that are the EXACT same that just sold for 10-15% less then they are asking.

Find a car that you like the price on and jump on it. If you are looking for a smoking deal it probably isn't going to happen.

Good luck with the search and I hope you find one. I rode in a UGR TT and it was the scariest ride of my life. Freaking INSANE and I loved it!

That car here and will mostly be up to the later spec cars. Very clean car.

Good post. My customers and I have sold cars for what they go for stock + the builds at near retail. These customer didnt want to wait to build their own cars and found value with the TT car already being done. Most of these are private sells that never are listed for sale.

Spyders are very hard to sell, as customers want a coupe 99% of the time when building or owning a TT Gallardo as Nick said.
