Hope your buddy is ok Hovik and that he is able to laugh the car off...that has to sting a bit.

He's ok and got another F50.

It happened at night when he was driving by himself, cruising. According to his medical report it was CO poisoning from the car's exhaust that got him to black out and drive off the road. There were no other car involved, he just drove off the highway into a tree.

I know it's easy for all internet keyboard warriors to draw conclusions from a couple of online videos that he was doing something reckless and that's why he crashed, but I think LPers see right through it and will see that it's an unfortunate accident that can happen to anyone. I see there are already a bunch of hate threads and of course jalopnik had to jump on board as well, but oh well, that's the internet world these days, what can you do.

I don't exactly know how this particular F50 ended up totaled, but there are a few things that I can say for sure:

That about sums up 100% of the journalism on Jalopnik.

Glad to hear he's safe and got another.

Wow, that's amazing. He's lucky to be alive for so many reasons. Good for him getting another one. I probably would have hesitated to get another one so quickly.

I hope this car gets saved. It certainly looks like it could be...

just seems like front damage .... could be a fantastic base for a trackcar / or F50 GT build? If the engine, gearbox and the carbon tub are intact.

love the amount of miles put on this unique stallion! I hope to do likewise and then some.

Unfortunately for him, when you're exposed to high levels of CO (like any other gas) olfactory fatigue takes effect in seconds. Driving your favorite car, smell exhaust, think nothing of it and wake up in a tree. He's even luckier the car did not remaining running and kill him. I deal with this on a daily basis and trust me people die from this every day in mere minutes.

Car looks easily rebuilt, hope someone brings her back.

About $10k a year for maintenance doesn't seem that bad or not as bad as I was expecting for an F50.

Given the mileage on it, I agree. Short of the $100k motor replacement.
