If you look at the big picture, he does not really own anything. He has like 2 houses and 2 cars. Nothing that every rich guy in LA does not own. The private jet flights are only to Las Vegas. How long of a flight is that? 20 minutes? The casinos probably gladly pay for that. I have never seen him fly any farther than Cabo. And that's only once a year or so. All the other stuff are friend's toys. Most of of his life is flash/bragging. He owns a cat. What kind of guy has a cat??? Heck, with the recent bull market, that annual figure probably exceeds $10M. I don't know how long that lifestyle is sustainable with that type of money, but I would be willing to try it out! But yeah, Oz is quite expensive from what I've heard. For that to happen he would have to be all invested, also where do you get 10% return? I was thinking if he's only worth $50 mil by the time he burns some on a nice house (houses) not sure where he lives but I assume that would be an easy 20% of his total, cars, toys, parties, travel, etc. there wouldn't be that much left for his extravagant lifestyle, I can't see how that would be sustainable, I agree with you on his current earnings if he still plays also I am thinking he must be worth a lot more than $50 mil but as I said he's doing it so it must be working which is good for him! There are mainly two reasons why I commented on that, main reason was because I know quite a few people who are worth well in excess of $50 mil and they don't party like that. The second reason, somebody once told me, it's not enough to know how to make money you also have to know how to properly enjoy it! That stuck with me because at times I felt like there was some truth in his comment, I see others who I don't think they really have the financial means to support their spending habits and I always wondered how do they do it, maybe they know something I don't, the only "comfort" I can take from the comment above, which make me feel like I am doing the right thing, is in the fact that the guy who said it to me not long after went bankrupt, which is very sad because he isn't a bad guy but I guess he failed to follow his own advice. Heck, even the S&P is up ~10% over the last 5 yr, 20%+ over the last 1 year... and if you have 50M to work with you're probably not just dumping it all into an index fund. You probably have a financial adviser or three. My point is that it takes very little investing skill to make good returns during the bull run since '08. Seems that most of his glitz is rented or free. It's not his house (rented), it's not his boat (borrowed?), it's not his chopper or jet (rented, borrowed, ?), etc etc. So his monthly over head is pretty high, but 5M/yr goes pretty far. He can spend a little over 400K per month and not even touch his principle. Assuming he's really even got 50M. Who knows...
