MnM Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Anybody has a good recommendation for a realtor in LA? Looking to buy a holiday home in LA within the next couple of months, and having problems deciding between Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills or Bel-Air even - so a good trustable realtor would be a great help. Anybody has anyone to recommend? Thanks

Smash Boy Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Would be curious to hear LA members' impressions of those 3 neighborhoods, and how they compare.
Modo Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Would be curious to hear LA members' impressions of those 3 neighborhoods, and how they compare. Hollywood Hills- good for partiers, narrow streets and no street parking. I would live there if I was under 30 and single. Beverly Hills- Its Beverly Hills, nice streets close to all the nice restaurants and cache. Bel Air- Sits adjacent to Beverly Hills, much nicer homes on bigger lots and views to die for. Most $40+ mill homes are in Bel Air. I would be your neighbor and Kabob (I actually mean kebab) (I actually mean kebab) SUNDAYS. Another option = Good houses in Eastern Malibu are selling in days.

MnM Report post Posted April 2, 2014 Thanks guys. Some awesome (I hope) recommendations. To think I have been blindly going off Trulia in the last couple of weeks and making some random offers lol. I'll be back in LA this month so hopefully I can get something wrapped up over the next couple of months. I thought Hollywood Hills had good views though no? 2 properties I liked off trulia http://www.trulia.com/property/3131549125-...ngeles-CA-90077 http://www.trulia.com/property/1081342065-...ngeles-CA-90069 if it was half holiday home half investment home which area would you guys recommend? Modo Report post Posted April 2, 2014 I use the Redfin app, like it a lot.
emanon Report post Posted April 2, 2014 I use the Redfin app, like it a lot. Redfin is better than most, with Zillow being ridiculously out dated most of the time. But I have found the hot properties are gone before they hit those sites. The stuff in the upper price range you guys play in might not move so quick? The offer goes for any of you guys, if you want me to look something up don't hesitate to ask.

Destructo Report post Posted April 5, 2014 If you go into the relationship knowing all realtors are whores, proceed accordingly, and you'll be fine.

I lived off Sunset Plaza on Evanview 18 years ago. Great area, great views. Traffic sucks ass on weekends, 20 minutes from any freeway without traffic. Fun if you are single. Homes in the Hollywood Hills views vary due to the topography. Some have stunning views, homes next door don't. Better values in Los Feliz and Beachwood Canyon further to East. Lived there too, loved it.

MnM Report post Posted April 6, 2014 Sunset Plaza home is freaking baller!! love it. Hey Nic its crazy the kind of properties you can get compared to sg. I'm building a new house in sg starting next month or so.. maybe you can be the official photographer and document the process? Like the binder we get with a new Ferrari going to build a covered carpark this time that can house 10-12 cars

I think you should keep an open mind rather than focus on a particular area. That's how we ended up in Malibu, we never considered it as a viable option until I stumbled onto the home we currently own.
