Aventador side-markers

So the Aventador was suppose to be a "world-spec'd car", with side-markers good for both DOT & EU. In addition to front amber & rear red ones, we also see front & back clear/white ones available. There is one glitch however...

Since the EU regs do not require rear side-markers, the clear/white rear ones are only reflectors, they are not lit.

Worse, the factory had sealed the wiring holder with polymer and the part inside where the LED sits is molded shut (it's a perforated piece as opposed to total removal of the same piece; the front side-markers have that piece removed). To gain access, something must be cut.

Anyone had experience with this, i.e. trying to retrofit the wiring & LED into the rear clear/white side-markers? Anyone sells the rear clear/white side-markers with LED already in place for simple "plug & play"? (Potential biz opportunity right there.)

I had both of my front and rear side markers replaced with Euro spec'd clear/white ones. It took my dealer swap them out within an hour or so. Front side markers are bulbed and I'm pretty sure the rears are just reflectors.

I have sold many of sets front and rear, they all seem to leave wiring and bulb attached and hidden behind the reflector.

One would assume that is the case: the front ones, yes. The rear ones, not so; just pure reflectors, no bulbs, no wiring. The bulb harness is sealed with polymer and the piece inside the casing where the bulb/LED goes has not been removed. The entire casing is sealed closed. One needs to cut from the underside for access. If you have the rear side-markers with bulb & wiring built-in, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for chiming in. And that's the problem: a cop can pull you over and give you a ticket citing the lack of illuminated rear side-markers. I understand the lack of wiring since EU doesn't require rear side-markers, but sealing everything shut with polymer just seems to be an extra step that doesn't make sense.

I see. You want yours lite to meet regulations and code.

I can tell you this. Most cops have no clue as to what color goes to what? They don't even know what the car is half of the time...they won't care about your rear side marker not luminating with a bulb I can guarantee you that. Looking at the car, they'll probably think the clear engine bonnet is illegal because it's staggered in glass?! They don't know?!

Trust me, most cops will be distracted that he pulled over a spaceship rather than cite you over side markers not working. I've had my car for 5 months now, got pulled over once and have interacted numerous times with cops...all cops loved my clear/white side markers. They don't know that my car didn't come with clear/white ones, they all believe it's a standard spec. Again, to them, it's a spaceship!

Change them, you wont have any problems! They look awesome!!

Why not get them painted body color to avoid the whole situation? Might be the easiest solution.
