Weekend Projects done...

I haven't touched the car since I bought it in September which is very odd for me, aside from some clear side markers but that was a quickie..

So on my list was new floor mats, backup camera, new Carbon Fiber wheel, Carbon paddles, carbon center console, carbon arm rest console, K&N air filters, led lights inside and around license plate, lastly hard wire the V1.

So here goes the before and after.

The wheel turned out beautiful and I highly recommend DCTMS, they worked with me on my specific order, it's the 670 wheel design with blue stitching and a blue stripe at the top. The wheel is very think and feels great, and price was very reasonable, ask for Ivan DCT AUTO GROUP

Check the difference in thickness, the wheel should have come like this from the factory, gives the car a whole new feel and look.

I picked up a use set of OEM paddles on ebay.

Next up was the center console, fairly easy to swap out, while I switched out everything I cleaned all of the buttons and removed that tacky substance on them. Using goo gone I had to actually scrub it off with my nails, this took some time!

Then the center armrest, what I pain this was to get out, center leather area pops up, then it's held in with little 7MM nuts way inside, have to remove the seat belt harness to get to them.

While that was out I replaced the lights with some nice bright LED's

Next up was the backup camera, I purchased the Kenwood CMOS-320 camera since the factory deck was the Kenwood DDX 812. I also purchased the factory grill with the camera cut out. After opening it up I noticed there is a factory harness and I also found a RCA plug behind the stereo, since I already ran the new wire and it was the Kenwood setup I chose to use that instead of cutting the factory harness. My car came with a bunch of extra stereo cables, of course it didn't come with the one needed for the camera input, but it was readily available on ebay.

Ran the wire along the drivers side and back to the new rear grill.

Picture is perfectly clear, however you can see the edges of the grill. You can also change the zoom on the camera and even split the screen with a button installed in center console, if you zoom in all the way the edges from the grill go away.

Button ran here to change camera angle

Haven't driven it yet, but this will be very useful while driving as the roadster has a huge blind spot in the middle unless your 6'+.

Since the side panels were removed I decided to check the air filters, of course they were ready for a change. FYI K&N stopped making the filter 33-2574, there are a few on ebay so pick some up while they still last.

While the rear license plate lights were out I changed them to LED's as well.

Next up was the hardwire of the V1, the Roadster does not have power to the rear view mirror, so I ran the line under the trim and over to the drivers side fuse box, used an add on fuse tap and plugged it right in.

That is about it, I'm very happy with the updated look inside and it's just enough carbon fiber for me, I love the look of the dark carbon against the Avorio Lilium it really pops!

The after...

Looks great Kevin. Swapping out the steering wheel and adding carbon was my first list of mods as well, makes the car look 5 years newer.

It sure does!

Can you share where you got the floor mats from? Also are the center console CF pieces OEM or aftermarket?

Yes Mats came from http://europeanfloormats.com/

Center I believe is aftermarket, found it used from a dismantled in perfect condition.
