One thing, but assimilating into a culture doesn't mean one has to give up their own culture, it just means that one learns the language and ways of the new culture that they live among so that they can function. For example, you might have a Chinese family, an Italian gamily, and a Russian family all immigrate to America. They assimilate by learning English and the general ways of America, and their children will, if young enough, come to speak English like a native in addition to their cultural language. So they do not have to give up their culture. At work, they will all speak English, and that is how they can all function as part of one society. But at home, they may all speak their own language, practice their own religion, etc...if anything, it is encouraged that they do not give up their own culture, but rather use it to contribute to their new country.

You know. The thing is, I can not think of anything I have done to upset, TS640 yet, he felt absolutely fine to disrespect and to reference me using derogatory names and terms admittedly off-board but to members here. The way it all reads it makes me think of two things.

Someone very young and someone that has spoken about me to many other people and is clearly comfortable doing so in such a negative way.
