That's why I don't really get why someone on this thread said the Huracan had too much plastic on the exterior. Seems like almost every part is made of FC, even the front

Unfortunately not, I was going to post a photo with the configurations but I can't load photos from my iPad.

i was told they are only making 250 a year for approx 3 yrs by Lambo rep.

I also was told by someone from the factory that production was limited to this for each of the next 3 years. Now having said that, if this car is as popular as it appears to be for now, I wonder if they will change their minds. I would hope not but we shall see.

It's getting interesting now that the tires used for the lap seem hard to identify but are probably Trofeo R's that don't come with the car and may not even be available, at least for a while. All the drama is bound to focus on tires.

There is an article (I also think it got posted in the thread) that these were Performante optimized Trofeo R tires. They will be available when you spec your car so not some vapor ware, hard to get tires.

😉Exactly! He was a really young engineer in the days of the se30 and we had a great time talking at length about the se30 and how that ethos is what he wanted to bring to this car. Now imagine if this system was available for Aventadors in the future....or even Aventador sv as a performance kit like the Jota kits....

Has anyone had Trofeo R's on any of there street cars? Obviously they are great for the track. It how long do they last on the street. I'd hate to be replacing tires every year or so.

Are they similar to R888's in terms of being good for both track and street use?

Opt-out.

That is what I have done. Totally media free. No FB, news, news radio..nothing.

I do read the occasional car board (like this one). Other than that I could care less about all the click-bait drama that seems to fill everyone elses heads.

World needs to wake up to the fact that the human brain is wired to love drama. Your media: email, chat, social, news, news radio is all giving your grey matter a little dopamine hit. Same effect as porn on the brain. In other words, 99.9% of everyone you know is 'addicted' to media. Test yourself, go for the rest of the day w/o any media. Watch how long you go before you are twitching for a hit of 'media'.

I said this before, us mere mortals who buy those cars have very little to no chance achieving lap times the pros do, even if one possesses the required skills the sense of self preservation kicks in way before you get there so you are right, it is highly irrelevant IMO anyway.

What gets under my skin is how people are being contrarian for personal gain without any evidence, Johny doesn't need to back his opinion up anymore, he can just say whatever he pleases without being held accountable or having to explain himself, our society is completely screwed up and it's getting worse by the day, sure if you have evidence to back your claims up I am all ears and I take my hat off to you but just trumpeting through your ass for more followers is simply irritating.

Certainly some truth to that AustinLambo. If my phones die or I'm away from an internet connection I can sometimes feel the craving. Unfortunately, these same tools often provide for an excellent feed for information. I was seeing GIMS pictures before any major media was reporting.

In any case, very interesting to hear about the potential cap on Performante production. That's a far cry from Lamborghini doing the 20x special editions of the previous generation and doing whatever they can to move units. Personally I hope it isn't true. That the Performante is just the top 'regular production' Huracan and then there are some limited editions that follow a la STS / SC. I don't have any good dealer contacts and I don't want it to become an MSRP adjustment game like the TDF, 911R, M4 GTS, etc... Although part of me wonders if it's the forged composite pieces that might hinder 'mass' production.

I agree with you but it's easier said than done, most of my social media interaction revolves around this forum I was also attracted to other sources of social media because of some LP members, instagram for example, there are many LP members on instagram and I enjoy interacting with them outside LP.

I was forced into Facebook due to a trip I might be taking later in the year, just to be able to keep in touch with the group, I can not begin to tell you how much I hate it, I will get rid of the account as soon as the trip is done.

It's getting increasingly difficult to avoid social media, if you do you are left behind so it's a two edged sword. :(

I agree, why are factory configurators so rubbish?

I gave LamboCars some ammunition and the poor guy is working tirelessly, I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

Ovi are you ordering one?

Awesome! Excited to see the results.

I really have the urge to order one since I have wanted a lambo for a long time, however at this time I don't feel comfortable to part with the cash. I want to move first, and after that and my businesses are sold I'll try and get my hands on a V12 bull.

For some reason I just am not feeling the car - clearly I am in the minority. It looks a bit kit-car ish, not really into FC and the doors are no longer skinned in carbon. Worst of all the rear looks like a jumbled up mess to me - like they just threw every "race-inspired" idea out there at an ass end of a car that already left something to be desired. I really hope I am wrong here and I have not seen the car in person, which often makes a huge difference. The SL is just one of the all time great lookers of a car and I think this falls far short, in terms of overall cohesiveness.

Not everyone will like the design but I'd reserve judgement until you see it IRL, the rear looks very good.

they are quieter and much better for the street than R888's. I have them on my 580 and it feels like a different car. literally

I would say they probably last half as long as the factory Pirelli's.

even in the rain they don't slide unless you really push.

one thing to consider the side profile isn't as beefy so the gap increases between tire and fender which I hate. but its worth it IMO

If the ass end is anything near as cool as the Murci SV, I will fall for it. One of the best booties of all time.

agree, IMO A-SV is 1st, Perf is 2nd and M-SV 3rd.

I think you will like it in person.

Thank DOT for taking out the carbon door panels. Accordingly, DOT had determined that the CF will splinter in an impact and shards of the panel will cause bodily harm.

Thanks for the feedback!

I remember driving back from Big Willow track one day on my R888's and it started downpouring...it felt like I was driving on ice.

If the Trofeo's are this grippy and have much better traction then I'm gonna talk to my dealer about ordering these!

Wonder how much more...

I just paid about $1900 for the set. FYI sunday night it was pouring and I was cruising at 80-90 without a hiccup on the R's, I was very surprised (they are brand new)

A heads up not all same size, same brand tires are created equal. Even a Trofeo R in the same size can be different when it comes to bespoke tires for a certain car. There is usually an "N" number that must also be matched. This goes for Michelin as well.

yes good point, supposedly the factory is offering the trofeo R as an accessory you can purchase separately for the P

The GT3 ran a 2 minute lap about 2 seconds quicker on Rs over regular Pirelli tires. So i imagine a H Perf would run the ring about 8-10 seconds slower on regular Pirellis? Still right on 918s ass which is impressive as heck. Even if an H Perf runs 7:05 on regular Pirelli tires it is still 25 seconds faster than regular H! ALA and all other tricks working lovely!

  • 2 weeks later...

Got damn, that looks lovely. I think that might be the first time I saw the sport seats with laser and sportivo, which is how I ordered mine. I need to try and remember I'm buying it for speed and tracking, not to look at it. haha.
