McGregor vs. Mayweather

I think it would be hilarious if FM took a dive and had a proxy place a massive bet on Connor. Like that episode of SouthPark with Satan vs Jesus and Satan takes a dive.

If he really wants to make money he should lose by points instead, Conor winning by unanimous decision is +8000!

Who knows with this whole fiasco.. the whole thing is a scam... the two are laughing all the way to the bank, i'm just curious how they plan to let it play out. Legit boxing would be a no brainer... but as you guys said... proxy bet... plus who cares about a record when there are 100's of millions of $$s at stake. For Conor its a win either way... loses, hes not a boxer, wins he beat the worlds top boxer.... They're sure good at hyping the masses to part with their benjamins

This is going to be more staged then a WWE matchup. This is about the only sport that you can stage and make money on. I think mayweather said it in the past, he is going to make the most money on his loss. I mean whats keeping him from betting money against himself and reap the benefits while getting paid.

If he losses by points, then you have ANOTHER rematch and another reason to get paid 100mm plus. Either way its a win/win for both and I don't get any excitement over two 130lbs guys dancing around the ring.

As much as I'd love to see Mayweather lose, the odd's are stacked against Connor. I have a friend that was stupid enough to bet me that he would win, so I bet against Connor. Those 4 press conferences were nothing short of WWF shit talking but entertaining none the less.

I hope McGregor wins, but unless they put on the UFC gloves and not boxing gloves, he doesn't have a shot in hell.

Be careful......that's what they said about Trump!!! :eusa_naughty:

I wasn't interested in this fight at all until the weigh ins. Now I'm pretty excited for it. McMuffin acting pretty cocky. Floyd can't take punches. Always wins on points. All it takes is one....

Job well done by the promoters lol

Trump had to win over a crowd. Mcgregor has already done that.

Not going to stop him from being pelted in the face.

Anyone that thinks Mayweather will give up his highly debatable but essentially unblemished professional record to throw the fight is delusional.

They're probably texting each other laughing at how much money they're both going to make. I'll still watch the fight though

^^^THIS^^^

In the end, this is what it's all about.

  • 4 weeks later...

Damn, just 3 more days until Mayweather gets his 49-1 record.

What's funny is I find myself wanting Mayweather to win because I don't like McGregor's attitude - overly pompous! But I genuinely think he is gonna knock out Floyd, lol. Every great has a prime that comes to an end and I think this is the one for Mayweahter (But I hope I am wrong!)

Ok, this is like Lavar Ball challening Michael Jordan in basketball and expecting Lavar to win, lol

Just won't happen. Floyd one of the greatest of all time, in his sport. McGregor in his.

Smart money is on Floyd. Would call a rig 100% if Flyod lost in an unconvincing way.

Will watch. Can't wait.

Crazy the way these lines are moving. Not what vegas lines are at, but some online casinos have Mayweather at -350 now and most are at -400. That seems like really good odds with how likely he will win.

As cliche as it sounds, every dog has its day and you never know what's gonna happen in the fight game.

I can't make up my mind if I want to see a good, long fight or something totally off the wall extravagant like a 30 sec knockout.

I am excited!

This version of "a good long fight" will be Mayweather dancing about. I'm honestly so confused by anyone who thinks this fight is going to be any different than the last 49 fights he's put on. We will see a master defensive boxer in the ring with an untested MMA fighter all there for one thing...money.

I have a theory though, Mayweather will string this fight out to make Conor look good, he will win on points and then Conor will joint TMT in Mayweathers foray into MMA managment and promotion.
