I think people are looking at this the wrong way.

 

It's not about beating the government 1 on 1 but serving as a massive deterrent.

 

Nobody likes fighting a guerilla war, which is what you'd encounter in such a scenario by a heavily armed populace. You can drop a bomb on them, in theory......but is that what will actually happen? We don't even do that to our enemies.

 

Bullies like easy targets because they won't fight back. Nobody likes to fight someone who will pose a challenge, even if they will win.

 

Both events are very unlikely, VERY, if that was ever to happen the army would side with the civilians because the army is formed from the rank of the civilians and it’s highly unlikely that they will want to kill their relatives in order to protect a tyrannical government.

 

Also IMO the government could not care less that the population has guns, the population in America has lots of things to lose, they aren’t like some God forsaken third world country living in a dust bowl with no future, the greater majority will not rebel, some would but majority will not want to risk their current lifestyle, think about it logically, would you personally go to war with your government if they decided to take your guns?

 

Maybe I would if they decided to take my cars :lol2:

We’ve been at war with a bunch of goat fcuking sheepherders for over a decade now and those are just a handful of guys with a bunch of Kalashnikovs with the same country with all of our technology, all of our nuclear warheads, all of our tanks and bombs still can’t seem to pull off a win. What do you think 100 million angry armed Americans could do against a corrupt military force

 

Different scenarios IMO, there are lots of highly complex issues at stake in those scenarios, just one simple aspect,if the army didn’t care about civilian casualties those wars would be finished in less than 24 hours, we all know that.

 

In the event of the US government fighting the civilians why would they care they would bomb the hell out of everyone?

 

Either way we can stop talking about this scenario because the only thing we are doing is taking unnecessary space on a server somewhere, it will never happen, if it ever does I will be the first to admit that I was wrong.

Thank you for the link! I clearly was wrong. You learn something everyday. Even with that new knowledge any changes I have seen/heard suggested by the left wouldn't have prevented the attack. Up until this horrible event all the shooter had was a speeding ticket. The sad reality is that these types of events will never be preventable, but the facts show that gun control isn't the solution. The more guns there are the less crime there is.

Things I’ve heard (totally fcuking unconfirmed but wtf?): A video exits on the DW showing the shooter pledging allegiance to ISIS.

 

This along with him having no fcuking hair would make sense. Where the fucks his hair?!?!

 

Remember the old aw playbook instructed suicide attackers to shave their body hair prior to the attack.

The whole thing is odd.

On one hand, I very much understand that an active investigation can take time. That, and we live in a technologically driven era where everyone can get instant answers, instant gratification, and so people want it solved when it simply isn't that easy.

 

On the other hand, nothing is being talked about of any substance. That fuels speculation, distrust, and second guessing of the ability of the FBI. I realize it's difficult, and I have patience, but let's at least get things a bit straight between the information disseminated officially and the information that is getting leaked.

Slightly long post, but just wanted to address Fortis's points:

They can do one better, just switch your electricity and water off, cut fuel supply etc. they will bring most of the country to its knees without firing a single bullet, if they switch the internet off heads will explode better give those pensioners AR-15s.

 

In the event that the people had to actually take up arms against a tyranny, things would already be so terrible that there wouldn't be much to lose. Armed resistance to a tyranny is only for a last resort. Armed resistance can tear the society apart because of the warfare and also can lead to the replacement of the existing tyranny with another tyranny. Peaceful resistance should always be tried first, and has a history of working a lot of times, but it doesn't always work.

 

And the Founding Fathers of America, BTW, were fully aware of this; they wrote it right into the Declaration of Independence:

Nuclear weapons I doubt would be used by a tyranny because they'd be destroying their own country. Regarding conventional bombs, war planes, helicopters, tanks, etc...I'd say that YES, the people could resist them with small arms. The reason is because there are only so many places that you can send tanks, troops, aircraft to bomb, etc...if the people, en masse, rise up in resistance, it can be EXTREMELY difficult to put down. And yes the government can switch off the electricity, water, and fuel, but the people can do that to the government too. They can sabotage the rail lines and the infrastructure. Tanks, aircraft, etc...can't move without fuel.

 

Look at South Korea. Back when it was a dictatorship, one of the cities fought back via force of arms. They hijacked an armory to get weapons. The military responded and beat them down. However, this caused the whole country to rise up in mass protest. At this point, the dictatorship realized they couldn't hold power and gave it up. Now imagine if all of those people were in possession of arms.

 

Enough with the nonsense BS excuses you make yourself look foolish (arming disable people with AR-15s SMH ��‍♂️ LOL) it’s your right to have your weapons, it says so in your constitution, no need to come up with nonsense to justify it, end of story.

 

If that ever changes you will have to comply with the new rules and if the government decides to change it you won’t be able to do a God damn thing about it irrespective of how many guns you have, you think you live in a free world? Think again.

 

Why doesn't a disabled person have a right to an AR-15? What if a drugged-out criminal breaks into their home? Here some years back, three guys broke into a man's home and beat him to death. My mom is disabled. Why shouldn't she be able to possess a firearm that is easy to use, has good accuracy, and good stopping power?

Because those two situations are apples and oranges. One is a half assed attempt at nation building and the other is a highly unlikely and hypothetical situation where a government indiscriminately wants to murder it’s own people.

 

The whole argument that crazy people will find a way to kill others simply doesn’t hold up. Yes they can use trucks and shit but ultimately those things were not created with the purpose of killing others. Guns are though, and the argument simply becomes “ If a crazy person can use a truck to kill others then might as well give them access to dozens of rifles “. This makes no sense no matter how you look at it.

 

Also at what point is a weapon too much for a civilian? If the intention is that guns are needed to defy government tyranny then surely people should be ok to own artilary and tanks and etc.

 

Well in terms of numbers of guns, that really means nothing. Whether a person has 1 or 100 guns, all it takes is one. Regarding where are weapons limited, that is a good question and I would say that the word "arms" in the Second Amendment applies to what are today called small arms and melee and bladed weapons, and other basic projectile weapons (bow and arrow, sling, etc...). War hammer, battle axe, sword and shield, would be protected. At the time, the word "arms" meant personal weapons and armor. So body armor would be covered and also gas masks I'd say as they are a form of armor.

 

While we use the word "arms" as a catch-all today for all weapons, for example, "global arms trade," "arms embargo," "nuclear arms," etc...at the time, the word was more specific. "Arms" then was distinguished from "munitions" which were explosives. The major military vehicle of the time was the Ship-Of-the-Line, the big naval sailing ships with the huge cannons arrayed on the side. I am pretty sure that "arms" in the Second Amendment did not mean a right to possess those (although interestingly there were some privately-owned gunships and cannon). Similarly, in modern times, it does not mean a right to possess modern naval gunships, or attack aircraft, or gun vehicles, such as battle tanks. Modern munitions in terms of all the various bombs would not be covered, up to nuclear weapons.

 

Biological warfare was known of and used at the time, they just did not yet have engineered biological weapons. But for example the British used smallpox-infected blankets to kill Native Americans, so the concept of using disease as a weapon of war was well-known. But the word "arms" likely did not mean a right to keep smallpox-infected blankets in one's home. Similarly, it does not mean a right to keep weaponized anthrax for example today.

Before the charger thing becomes super important some logic

 

- it is a hotel, previous guest could have left it. There is bound to be DNA present. Afterall house keeping has x amount to do before they check plug sockets, bed sheets, glassware etc how often do you check a man's shoes let alone electrical plug sockets.

- a guest could have visited him, a lady that specialised in horizontal jogging. Did the deed saw he was shady as fcuk and left in a hurry.

We have a third issue here

 

You all know I am not a fan of conspiracy theories. But this crime happened ed in the MOST tourism dependent city on the face of the earth. And without question there are lots of powerful forces in that city who at the very least are crossing their fingers that the motive turns out to be a one time thing that blows over in time and doesn’t create a long term threat over the city.

 

A “lone nut” who loses it and shoots up a random concert- just one of many he targeted in multiple cities around the country- is one thing. A terrorist attack- whatever the cause- that specifically targeted Vegas because it’s a target rich environment for the type of people the terrorist cause wants to target, is a whole different can of worms with long lasting economic impacts.

Why aren't we seeing tons of video of this guy walking in and around the casino with boxes or suitcases full of shit? Why aren't we seeing video of this guys horizontal jogging partner by now? Aren't casinos and Vegas one of the most highly video'd ( for lack of a better term) places on earth with tons of sofisticated software used to recognize cheaters as they enter a casino, yet they can't seem to put together any video of this asshole's comings and goings to confirm who went into the room at what time? Hell the Boston bombers were located and identified on casual surveillance sources in Boston, but we're not seeing anything from one of the largest casinos on earth? We watch JZ getting beaten by his sister in law in an elevator video, NFL stars beating their significant others and dragging them into elevators, but we can't find this asshole getting into any elevator...in Vegas?

If I am not mistaken there is some evidence he planned an escape, those cameras etc.

So rather than have a room full of guns he has to carry out, instead one hidden in the desert for example.

If there was an onsite accomplice then odd how all the rifles are Paddocks. Paddock bought all the rifles to the party? What did the accomplice provide? Nachos. The escapee took all their rifles and one of Paddocks?

Personally I think dropsite but only time will hopefully tell.

Alleged " lone wolf" shooter ( Paddock ) fires upon 20k+ concert goers from 32nd flr Mandalay Bay hotel.

59 killed as direct/ indirect result of sustained bullet wounds, 520 concert goers injured.

Mysterious woman alleged to have warned crowd of impending death " in 45 minutes youre all going to be dead."

Shooter suspected of usibg at least one of 23 weapons recovered frm room .

Shooter suspected of using somewhat questionable but legal "bump stop" attachment to mimick fully auto firepower.

Girlfriend sent to native country shortly before tragic sbooting along with $ 100k " to buy a house".

Girlfriend claims no knowledge of Paddock's intentions.

Some witnesses claim to hear and / or see "se ond shooter" but no confirmation at this time.

Shooter was a successful gambler (reported $3m/yr ) and dealt in real estate.

Shooters dad was career criminal and one of two brothers was also a criminal.

Shooter (Paddock) had virtually no contact with police.

Multiple weapons, explosives and devices found in at least one of several properties.

All weapons bought legally. Status of tannerite etc. not confirmed.

An interview with the police who breached the room just said that on the note he had written down his bullet drop and all his distances. Said the room had lots of power tools and with the amount of the guns and ammo he could have shot it out with them for hours.
