Where were the cameras pointed inside the room? Was he really thinking he would be watching a monitor while shooting into the crowd? And it definitely seemed to me like two different guns firing in Romans video. But so far we have a botched timeline that makes no sense. a FBI crime scene that magically gets burglarized with no suspects (how in the fcuk??), a guy with still no remotely clear motive, videos that sure do sound like two different weapons, and no info from the officials.

Again, why can't they use the video from the hotel/casino to establish exactly who and time frames...seems like a no-brainier, regardless of who is in possession of the footage (FBI as someone suggested earlier). If there were two shooters, why hide it? Why would there need to be a conspiracy at all with something like this, i.e. what's the point of needing to cover up anything in this scenario?

I would say only reason to cover shit up is the laziness of the Hotel Security addressing the guy that got shot BEFORE he opened fire on the crowd. Just my .02.

I'm sure some MGM execs were watching security footage while the guy was still shooting. If there were multiple people (and I tend to believe there were), I have a feeling those guys never made it out of the hotel on their own free will and are being 'dealt with' in a private, you fucked with a good times business that brings in $1B/month, Vegas kinda way.

Roman, does it not sound like the additional simultaneous shots are being fired from a completely different location, more precisely, much much closer (not adjoining room)? Needless to say, sound has a tendency to travel in a deceptive pattern given what it bounces on/off, but, the other sound seems to be almost ground level... or, maybe is a considerably louder load(?). No way is this guy firing two at one time in that cadence with any semblance of targeting.

 

The original ridiculously quick police / swat response coupled with the shifting time lines / story lines is admittedly somewhat bizarre only to be compounded by lack of video in what is most likely the most surveilled place on earth. Tin foil remains safely stowed in drawer, not on hat.

I have wallpapered the world with it. And you all know what an odd group of friends I have. Bottom line. Jury is out. Most agree it’s indicitive of two shooters.

 

The wave form initially points to two guns/ positions.

 

If you take it further and look at it in a wave form you can actually SEE the two desperate sound signatures.

 

 

The problem is the two literally seem to be firing in sync. Which is nearly impossible. No two automatic guns will be that close in cadence and timing. But. That means it’s one gun that suddenly shifts position dramatically (at 400 yards the sound spreads out like a cone away from the barrel. Slight variations in the direction he’s aiming won’t have that kind of major accoustic change that you hear. Plus theres no transition. It doesn’t “Doppler”. It just flips like a switch. Like a trigger. It’s not likely he’s be able to move fast enough at that rate of fire to cause the change that instantly.

 

I’ll admit there’s probably no place in the world better suited to a “weird echo” that that particular corner of Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay. Delano. Luxor. Excalibur. MGM. Tropicana. Nyny. All right there. And all weird shaped.

 

But that does NOT sound like an echo that I’ve ever heard. And I’ve shot a ton of rifles. Been shot at by a ton of rifles. Have been on every side of a range. And never heard anything like that.

 

 

Having said all that. Pinnpointing where exactly those two sets of shots are coming from is impossible given the limitations of the recording equipment and circumstances.

Couldn't the sound difference (but still with synchronization) just be down to whether he's leaning out the window or further back in the room? If the muzzle is outta the window it's direct sound, if he's further back inside the room he has the windows acting like a baffle with 2 ports (broken windows)?
