You guys are incredible. We've passed the $2,300 mark last night. This is wonderful! Feel free to share the link or let me know how I can spread the word if you know of another place to share it.

Absolutely.

This is a forum where the majority of members are rather affluent and view fine cars as a hobby instead of transport.  Surely, we can afford some contributions to this.  Then there is an individual who supposedly owns or have ordered the latest and the greatest; and even claims he "gives till it hurts" (that statement itself is problematic but whatever).  Well, here's an opportunity to man up and proof it.  Surely, a donation is but a tiny fraction of the insurance cost alone of his fleet.

To those who had donated, thank you sincerely!  Mark is 100% legitimate and his adversities of late are totally genuine.  The man had provided stellar services to our petrol-head community completely free of charge; some even on personal rendering requests. It's the very very least that we can do by contributing to a pool to realize one of Mark's ultimate goals.  And it needs not to be monetary-based either; those who have connections to complimentary/discounted rate on airfare, hotels, car rentals or events at Monterey are more than welcome to assist and contribute.

Thank you.

Thanks for boosting this post a bit with some honest perspective, we've discussed before and I do appreciate.

That being said, behind-closed-doors discussions have led us to run this through the end of March for Mark. At that point, we feel it will have run its course. It won't do Mark any good to draw it out, and more than likely the majority of giving will have happened.

VCR makes some excellent points, we've had A LOT of traffic since the relaunch. In the past 28 days, we've had more than 8,500 users come to the site. And while there is a lot of new visitors and guests, there is still a long-held core of users that frequent the site often.

So that brings us to ideas to raise more funds. All of the proceeds (minus GoFundMe's fees) are going directly to Mark. I've set it up so the funds go directly to him, no one at LamboPower (myself included) have access or ability to receive the funds from it. So rest assured, there is no tomfoolery afoot if that's causing some of you to be hesitant.

We've promoted the fundraiser on our Facebook page, but as that's new, and we are going the Organic growth route (and not buying likes or fans) our base is currently small, see: VERY small. I'll push it out on Instagram too.

So what can you do?

1. Give if you haven't already! This community is VERY generous. And for many, the total amount of the fundraiser is a pittance. Those that have donated, I am not surprised. Many are active and long-time contributors to the site. Their involvement is an awesome testament to their appreciation for the value Mark has given the community. For that, on behalf of the site and Mark, "Thank you!"

2. Spread the Word! It's easy enough as a share. I know there are plenty of other forums and networks many of you utilize. Please consider sharing for the benefit of Mark. I am going to promote it on some other forums myself (until they get removed I'm sure), but hopefully. I'm happy to keep the LamboPower name out of the fund-raising if it means we can cast a wider net and get a bigger result for Mark.

3. Consider Donating Outside of Direct Funds. If you have a connection to Monterrey events that you could get access to for Mark, that would be a great value as well. We've had some discussions with Lamborghini Club America and seeing what is also available there.

So, concluding:

1. Donate

2. Share

3. Think Outside The Box

Thanks everyone!

10k? Are we trying to get him an escort too? ;)

OOOOrrrrrrr...... LP rents a party RV and tailgates at Monterey. Better than any tent that requires sportcoats and cufflinks.

Haha I’d wager that 10K wouldn’t get that in Monterey during car week.

In all seriousness, two tickets round trip from Belgium to California was more than $3K, hotel was another $1,500 approximately. Rental vehicle would put him at about $5K. That doesn’t include any event tickets, which for Quail alone would be $800-$1200 a pair. Pebble GA would be $750, Monterey Historics are like $300 a weekend. Concourso Italiano  another $330. So we’re already at around 7,500 without and auction tickets and I know I’m forgetting things. I’m on my phone typing this, I have a breakdown I can get to you if you’re really curious. We want to make this a wonderful trip for him and we figured that would be the number we shoot for. Hope that makes sense.

How many people on this forum?

Astute observation my friend. Over 100,000. Granted, traffic isn’t what it was a few years back. But we’re trying to pick up steam.

More than enough though to hit this goal. We appreciate what you’ve already donated, it makes a great difference.

So what happens if we can't reach $10k? Is there a "Plan B"? Maybe a scaled down trip with less events? It would be nice to do something for Mark even if we can't reach $10k.

Yes, the Plan B has always been the following.

After discussing the circumstances, if we don’t reach the $10K mark any and all raised funds (minus GoFundMe’s percentage) will go directly to Mark as a “Thank you” for all he has done for the community.

Even if we do hit the mark, considering the circumstances and situation with his family, it will be up to Mark to decide if he would like to use the funds to attend Monterey.

Mat the very least we wanted the gesture to be to Mark to Monterey, but life sometimes has other plans. We remain flexible and he is aware of these, and everyone seems pleased with that arrangement.

Shocker. Try and do something nice for someone and they pull the thread without so much as a message about it. And we got called strict about stuff back in the day :lol2:

I get the whole "No Solicitation" policy, but it's not a stranger and he's done a lot. Figured they'd be supportive. Oh well, we'll keep plugging away here for him.

Exactly!

And especially our Mr. Big who claimed he “gives until it hurts”.  Seems to have gone completely MIA when he got called out.

I get the you-can’t-force-others-to-donate part but there is no minumum involved; consider it a tank of gas or two.  Seriously disappointed and really hate to say it but this campaign, ironically, had reflected the true colours of many here.

Well, let the disappointment be concluded.

For those of you who contributed, 1,000 thank you's! It's a very nice gesture, that is long overdue and to a great cause.

At this point, all the available money will be given to Mark as a VERY small gesture for all he's done for the Lamborghini community.

Thank you guys for chipping in!

Just read this earlier today for the first time.  Its sad in many ways...

But it is apparent that this website is not healed from all the stumbles that you guys have had.  But I give you props for continuing to grind and try to make it better. So with that..

1,. I will match dollar for dollar on what is needed to send Lambocars on his trip.. My understanding is that you raised $2300. And the goal is $10K??? right So that is  a  $7700 delta. If someone, or a group.. can cover half of that I will cover the other half!

Its absolutely fcuking retarded that this money cannot be raised on this site.  Lets get it done as a team or I will get it done.

2, I need a contact for who owns this site.  The majority owner who calls the shots.

Thanks everyone!

I did plan to give if it got closer to the goal.  I am not broke, but Im not super comfortable either. If you can drum up some more support and it looks like we will make it, I'll help out.
