For those of you who have been around for some time, or newcomers even, you'll undoubtedly have seen the work of LamboCARS.

http://www.lamboconfig.com/lamboconfigurator_vfballlea02lalol0oo0lloaaall0j61llaoalaaaaaaaaaaaa.html

Mark has been a part of the community for quite a few years with his incredible configurator and work. He has attended many events (as he's based in Europe. One of his dreams has been to attend a Monterey week.

Unfortunately, there has always been a reason he hasn't been able to attend, be it his health or his families. To say it's been a rough road doesn't do it justice.

So as a few members had suggested putting together a gofundme to get Mark to Monterey this summer.

I am happy to help promote and organize the account.

First and foremost, there are different ways to participate. You can donate to the gofundme (I'll post the link once I have it finalized with the amount we figure out) and or donate either event tickets if you have spares and wish to do so, or volunteer to include him around Monterey for a once-in-a-lifetime Monterey experiences.

Thanks, everyone for checking this out. We know the group has dwindled in recent times, but there is also a strong benevolent core here that has stuck around, and for that, we appreciate it.

Great idea for great guy. He's had a tough path and does lots for no remuneration. This will be a nice way to give him great holiday.

Over the years, a good percentage of members here, be they Lambo owners or not, have had the pleasure of using LamboCARS' various Lamborghini configurators.  They are superior to Lamborghini SpA's own and they costed us absolutely nothing to use. Some of us had even asked the man to tailor-config a car or two to assist on visualizing their cars prior to ordering one.  Again, LamboCARS had done all of these for absolutely free.  It has always been his goal to be at Monterey week.  It would be a great gesture if some of us can make a contribution to realize his goal.  And yes he had and still has a rather challenging path so let's start returning the favors.  Destructo, let us know as soon as you have finalized the GoFundMe details please.

You are the best, I can't express how I feel about all of you helping out ... this is something that never happens to me, and you are trying to make it possible ... I have no words, thank you don't even cover it ...

Life sometimes isn't fair, my wife's doctor told me the diagnosis for her a few weeks ago ... we don't have the heart to tell her, a few months ago she stated she didn't want to know about the details anymore, so the specialist at the hospital now only talks to me about it ... sorry, had to mention it somewhere ...

So you can imagine all of you trying to help me brightens up my life tremendously, there are still people out there that help others ... I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate this.

Gents, great idea!

Mark, please send me an email of what you are thinking, but I recommend that you fly into one of the three airports: MRY (closest), SJC (an hour away by car), SFO (two hours away by car).. see what flights are possible.

I recommend that you arrive Wednesday August 14th, and then depart Monday August 19th. (much of the action starts on Thursday, but Wednesday is probably better so you can adjust to the time change)

Also, I will help with special hotel pricing.

May I ask which airport code Mark will be flying out of?

SFO has advantage of being the proper international airport of the three, with SJC being #2, and dunno about MRY.

If the flight can go from Europe nonstop to SFO that might work out best. Otherwise if it has to stop on the east coast or Midwest like Chicago or Detroit, then best to go direct to SJC or MRY. I normally fly to SJC to go visit the Valley but from Dubai I flew nonstop to SFO.

Having lived in Charleston for a few years, I know how much a PITA flying to small airports can be, even domestic. It’s better now  but still not great.

Price will dictate and hard to predict which is cheapest.

We speculated he'd be flying into SFO or SJC for price estimations. Round trip put prices with a decent airline around the $1,500 +/- $100-200 per seat (we planned for two). We also estimated that he would need a rental car while there. It just makes things so much easier for getting to all the events.

There is always the LAX option and have him ride up with someone in the Italian Stampede or Fuel Run, depending on schedule. But I figured we'd arrange that a little later if possible. Just wanted to get things rolling now. Time moves pretty quick, that's for sure.

SFO is an awful airport to fly into/out of. The runways are too and close and when the fog rolls in, they shut down one. It happens a lot. Oakland or San Jose are much better options.

:icon_thumleft: SJC would be ideal considering. I've flown in and out of SJC multiple times, both before and after the reno. Never a problem.

Thanks for the info!

10k? Are we trying to get him an escort too? ;)

OOOOrrrrrrr...... LP rents a party RV and tailgates at Monterey. Better than any tent that requires sportcoats and cufflinks.
