Destructo Report post Posted March 11, 2019 So Amelia Island has traditionally been the "unofficial" start to Concours season. I followed some social accounts, and the talk of the weekend was the sequential pair of Mercedes Benz W198's, #43 and #44. Both couldn't have been farther apart from one another in terms of state. One restored, and one untouched. It was really neat to see (photos, as I didn't attend). Also, there was quite a gathering or Porsche 962's. That had to sound incredible with one running, let alone all if they fired them up at once. Auctions wise, it was down substantially compared to 2018. 54.4MM total compared to 77.2MM in 2018. Hagerty has a full report if that interests you. https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2019/03/08/2019-amelia-island-auction-results Overall Top Ten Sales Across all the Auctions: Overall Top 10 Sales from all auctions through Friday: 1930 Packard Speedster-Series 734 Boattail Roadster sold for $1,765,000 (Gooding & Company) 2015 McLaren P1 Coupe sold for $1,490,000 (RM Sotheby's) 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Roadster sold for $1,490,000 (Gooding & Company) 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS Spider sold for $1,325,000 (Gooding & Company) 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Coupe sold for $1,226,000 (Gooding & Company) 1930 Cadillac Series 452 Fleetwood Roadster, 2/4-p. sold for $1,187,500 (Bonhams) 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Roadster sold for $1,187,500 (RM Sotheby's) 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 Coupe sold for $1,132,500 (Gooding & Company) 1968 Repco Brabham-Cosworth BT26 BT26A Race Car sold for $1,105,000 (Bonhams) 1987 Porsche 962C Kremer Race Car sold for $1,022,500 (Gooding & Company) 2018 results through Friday Total: $77.2M Sell-through rate: 77 percent (269/351 lots sold) Average sale price: $286,
