oneofew Report post Posted August 25, 2020 Latley OEM Alpine unit in my 97 Roadster's turning on by itself. Car can be parked for couple of months and its quiet, randomly one day it turns on at max volume. This also brings up the question, from day one my headunit worked independently from the ignition, as in most normal cars when you turn off the ignition head unit shuts off . This unit has been in the car from day one, OEM connections never spliced for an aftermarket system, my gut feeling is it may very well have a internal short , once I detach the face plate it doesn't come back on. Another possibility is the remote control or the remote function picking up interference from some other source. @ Allan-Herbie, thank you for clarifying .
