E gear tank leak

Have you had any work done to system or top off fluid level? Have you checked fluid level? There is a vent in cap that will expel oil if over filled.

I had this on mine. The rubber pipes had gone a bit hard over time (fifteen years!!!), and the OEM crimp clip had relaxed. I took the reservoir out, cut 1/2 inch from the end of flow and return hoses and refitted with aftermarket worm drive hose clamps. Whilst the thing was out of the way, I degreased the firewall and removed all trace of the fluid that wept out. I got some narrow stainless clamps  from a boat shop. Refitted, topped up a cupful of fluid and all's good.
