I check this thread every day for no other reason than the comic value that it provides, but I do have one question:
I may very well be reading this wrong, but is the guy that has made getting his repo'd car back his #1 priority, really calling LP members the real losers? I'm confused?

But see when you can get into the thinking that your life is better than someones you allow hate to enter in your life. It's something that you have to open your eyes to and control. No one is better than anyone. Often times we feel that we are and found ourselves thinking.
"That girls fast or ugly" But, why do we say that? To make a friend laugh or feel better about ourselves? That means we are not happy with who we are as a person. What are we going to do to change it?
"That guy can't drive that Ferrari or Lamborghini" Why, Because he just bought the car and hasn't familiarized himself with the clutching system and we have, so automatically we are a better driver and he's foolish for even attempting to own the car of his dreams.
I've met hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life over the past few years. And I get people everyday that come up and try and talk to me or ask me questions. More often than not, I will entertain their questions even though they are almost always the same. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and frustrated and walk around cocky and arrogant just so people will not stop and talk to me. If I just go to downtown Orlando or Downtown Atlanta to party I shake and High 5 at least 200 people from VIP to Bus Boys. And then 10-20+ new people a night. Does this make me cool? No. To some yes.
I catch myself saying negative thing's, I'm not perfect. Words have the power to hurt and the power to save.
What if that chick I called fat to a friend overheard me and later than night God forbid committed suicide? That's on me.
What if that 18 year old kid came up to me and asked me how I made to where I am and I told him? He used my knowledge and drive to inspire himself to become a Millionaire. That's on me.
It's not about how much credit we can receive, how many friends we have, how many girls we've been with, what we drive, or anything. It's who we are as a person. All you have in life is your name and your soul. Don't sell out.

Sounds normal to me. Most cars fluctuate between 11-17 volts, with 11 & 17 being on the extreme ends of the spectrum. You're RPM's when driving spin the alternator faster, hence the higher voltage. Being at 12 & 14v are considered the optimum voltages when at idle and driving, respectively.

he may be a great guy in person, but i don't get why he has to go online and constantly talk about his money? he acts like someone that just won the lottery and now wants to show everyone that they have a couple bucks. he definitely didn't come from old money.
you've gotta respect anyone that can create a financial "empire" like he has, but he also shows that you can't buy class and respect.

as far as the escalade vs. denali goes, they are very similar although this is the first year that the escalade has a completely different dash (and I believe door panels as well) than its gm counterpart. as aj said, the escalade has standard features that are considered options on the denali. essentially, the denali is for someone that wants to save a few bucks by going for a few less options.

i was just going to ask you what you thought of the range, but noticed that you got rid of it. what made it uncomfortable? was it that particular vehicle or are you not a fan of suv's in general?

no, he should have ran it into a wall. you can have your insurance company cut you a check for a totaled car; they won't reimburse you for wrecking your car with a horrible body kit.

there's a black maybach 57 that sits in the office complex where I used to office out of. it blends in with all the other 745's and s-class benz's. i drove by it 4-5 times before i noticed it and a maybach is few and far between in MN.

actually, electric motors have the ability to produce ridiculous amounts of torque. this car doesn't suprise me at all...

its just like every other vehicle design, many hate it for awhile, then they are posting pics of their new vehicle that they just picked up from the dealership.
when cadillac first released the escalade, people said it would destroy the caddy name. when the 2nd generation escalade was released, people said the headlights and grill were hideous. these same people were the ones that went out and bought so many escalades that it caused cadillac to restructure their marketing program to accomadate for their new demographics.

i would imagine that the gears would be set up with various driving "modes" in mind. for example, an "economy" mode where the vehicle starts in 2nd gear to save on gas milage. or like on the ws6 trans am where if you try to shift early out of first (the car assumes you're not driving agressively) the tranny will direct you to 4th, bypassing 2nd & 3rd. or a "sport" or "race" mode where the tranny will wait to shift and never use 7 & 8 under 100 or so mph.
using all 8 gears if you are going to accelerate from a stop to 70mph at 1/4 throttle would be pointless. i would assume that various gears would be used in conjunction with a preselected driving mode or even in many cars now, where the vehicle computer can read your driving style.

i agree w/quicksilver, i'd rather have an e39 m5. if you take performance out of the picture, i would take the cls over the e60 any day.

early 80's, maybe mid-80's chevy nova. it was the same as the toyota corolla. it was a shitbomb but i loved it 'cause i could drive. man, life was simple back then...

this is a truck that i did a bunch of work to. if you could buy something like this off of the showroom floor, would you? people that i talk to either drool over it or say that its so disgusting that they want to kill themselves. what's your opinion? i'm just curious.
oh, and some of the notible accessories are 26's, 6in drop, big brake kit, suede interior, supercharger, two-tone paint, video system and moderate stereo, painted factory trim, and chrome exterior accessories...

How is it tax deductable? What's the rationale behind that?
Not doubting you...I have just always been under the impression that only purchase money financing up to a certain $$ amount was tax deductable.
In regards to the loan, your scenario is very common. When I buy a car (not an exotic), I pay cash just to make the purchase easy and then turn around and finance a portion of it back. I've done this a recently as last winter. I think your biggest obstacle is going to be the age of the car - most lenders won't finance something over 5 or 7 yrs old (can't remember the exact number.)
