  1. This sounds like a technology problem on the tower side of your provider. More than likely the area that you were in at that time was having broadcasting problems. When you went to make phone calls, the tower was switching all over the place and instead of sending the call to your wife's phone number, it was sending it to other people's random phone numbers (Ever receive a text message 4 or 5 times in a row? Something like that). You would be surprised at how many problems those towers can have. And some of them can get very weird.

Call your provider and tell them what has occurred, either one of three things will happen. 1) I apologize about the inconvenience, I will submit a trouble ticket to get this resolved as soon as possible. 2) We are currently aware of an outage in that area and our techs are working hard to get it resolved. 3) They will apologize and not do anything because they don't actually own the tower that you connected to at that time during those specific calls, but they will tell you that they will fix it.

Not really much you can do about it but call your provider to see if they can fix the towers. Hope that helps.

  2. I think he did kill her. But that is based off the evidence that I read elsewhere on the internet, not the documentary. It was one sided and was meant to show the screw ups by the justice system in these cases. I think Brendan is innocent though. Horrible to think about all of this.

  3. Latest from John Heald, Senior Cruise Director for Carnival:

Here is the latest news for you.

The Carnival Magic, which was waiting off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico this morning to dock there for a scheduled port visit, had not received clearance from Mexican authorities to do so by 12 noon eastern time today and therefore the decision was made to proceed to Galveston to ensure the ship arrives there on time on Sunday morning.

We greatly regret that this situation, which was completely beyond our control, precluded the ship from making its scheduled visit to Cozumel and the resulting disappointment it has caused our guests.

The Texas healthcare worker on board continues to show no symptoms of illness and poses no risk to the guests or crew on board.

The individual remains in voluntary isolation. Guests on the ship are being provided a $200 per person credit to their shipboard accounts and a 50 percent discount on a future cruise based on the missed visit to Cozumel.

  4. From John Heald's (Senior Cruise Director for Carnival) Facebook page on the cruise ship incident:

    Good morning everyone from my hotel room here at the Marriotthyattcontinental. Some of you may have seen a news report that I wanted to make sure I responded to as quickly as possible. Here then is Carnival's reply to that report;

Late afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 15., we were made aware by the U.S. CDC of a guest sailing this week on board Carnival Magic who is a lab supervisor at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. At no point in time has the individual exhibited any symptoms or signs of infection and it has been 19 days since she was in the lab with the testing samples. She is deemed by CDC to be very low risk. At this time, the guest remains in isolation on board the ship and is not deemed to be a risk to any guests or crew. It is important to reiterate that the individual has no symptoms and has been isolated in an extreme abundance of caution. We are in close contact with the CDC and at this time it has been determined that the appropriate course of action is to simply keep the guest in isolation on board.

    Cheers

  5. Let me play devils advocate on the flu symptoms and going to work... What about the people that DO NOT have flu symptoms, but Ebola symptoms (very similar in the beginning stages) and goes to the hospitala dn they are in the waiting room with all those other people with flu symptoms and sneeze and cough and sit in the chairs and wait for their name to be called.... blah blah blah....

There are some of us that will go to work and have no business to and there are those out there that will run to the hospital for the slightest reason that turns out to be zero reason to go to the hospital. Thereby putting themselves into a dangerous potential exposure.

Who would go to the Texas Presby hospital right now? I know it's there and if I was sick I would not want to go there. I'm willing to bet there are other people out there that think the same thing. They are asking to go to different hospitals. only a matter of time before another breach in protocol or unscheduled travel plans gets people sick and ebola pops up in a completely different hospital... Say like Connecticut? just posting what someone else said that there is another "possible' case of ebola in that state.

I'm not fear mongering. I'm educating myself so I can best protect myself and my family. And trying to educate friends as well to the "potential" for harm.

  6. This is a joke....

CDC Director just said during the Panel, parents should not worry about their children unless they live in West Africa, or are in direct contact with affected people...

Really? Vinson flew on her own on Frontier flight to Ohio and then asked the CDC if she could fly home since she had a fever. CDC said, yes your cleared to fly.... Now schools are closed in Texas and Ohio due to fears of Ebola and Frontier has grounded 6 crew members over ebola contact....

Hey Mister Director, if they have nothing to worry about, then why are those crew members grounded, and the schools closed??? STOP lieing and admit that you're lieing and don't know what your talking about. Stop dodging questions and take responsibility for your own stupidity.

  7. Well I read an article earlier today saying that Africans believe that Ebola is a hoax brought by the government and that people are only getting sick after being stuck by needles for something...

(unforunately I can't find the article link)

I believe that Africa is going to implode. This outbreak is just going to get worse and worse. I say enact a "Chernobyl" "no go zone" like Romandad said. Stay the heck out of Africa and let them get themselves killed.

It's only a matter of time before all of Africa is dead and the outbreak is gone. I hate to sound inhumane... but this is seriously worrisome. Too many years of distrust between the people and the African government has bred a huge level of distrust in the government and the general public over there. They will not believe anything that is told to them by the government. This situation just gets worse and worse.

  8. Okay so I'm confused. Thomas Eric Duncan is an African, not an American. So in all seriousness, why should he have expected any treatment whatsoever from the hospital? He isn't from this country. This link at the bottom talks about:

Duncan had just arrived from Liberia to visit his girlfriend and son, and probably had no insurance.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who's serving as a spokesman for the family, said that was a concern.

"I would tend to think that those who do not have insurance, those who do not have Medicaid, do not have the same priorities as those who do," the civil rights leader said.

All I'm going to say is that he wasn't from this country!!!! And why does Rev. Jesse Jackson think that Duncan had any right to the services provided to American citizens? This crap is out of control. I don't wish this on anyone, but for Jesse Jackson, I'll make an exception.

Now everyone is running around with possible case in Hawaii, Georgia, DC, so on and so forth. And the media is just adding to the fire and trying to create mass hysteria while our government sits back and says "There's nothing to see here" (Quote from South Park). I need to move to Utah and stock up on supplies.

  9. I just read every comment in this thread. And this is truly scary shit. There is some great information in this thread, and I appreciate all of it, as it has increased my knowledge on this matter by a thousand percent.
