  1. I have an '07 Gallardo Spyder with about 5000miles on it. I checked recently at the workshop and they told me that it still had 70% life remaining. However, I discovered that when driving hard in "sport" mode and shifting to 2nd gear at around 7000rpm, the clutch seems to slip and the rpm drops more than usual. This only happens from the 1st gear to 2nd gear and only in sports mode, it is fine for the rest of the gears. In normal mode, all is good.

I spoke to the workshop guys about this and they also mentioned that a few other customers have complained about similar problems. And he claimed that it was "normal". He mentioned resetting the ecu and allowing to let the gearbox learn and program itself again could solve the problem.

    Anyone experienced this?

  2. I am driving an 07 Spyder. Under normal driving conditions, when i change gears at 3000rpm, it is perfectly fine. However, when i rev it to around 7000-8000rpm, i can smell a strong stench of petrol in my cabin. Not sure if it is the smell from the exhaust that is penetrating into the cabin.

There have been no signs of leaks under my car whatsoever. All the hoses seem to be in place.

    Is this normal?

  3. i drive an 07 Gallardo spyder and i really think the exhaust sounds amazing enough. Just the right amount of sound when you want it, and quiet at low revs when you are driving back to your neighbourhood.

Used tubis before on my ferrari and maseratis but they way too obstrusive. Sound penetrates through the cabin and handbrake vibrates. Unless its just a car that you bring out for joy rides and not a form of transport, then its perfectly fine!

  4. Hi,

Just noticed this problem recently as i hardly redlined my car, but tonight just as i was driving harder than usual, i dragged my first gear to 7500rpm and shifted (in sports mode) to 2nd gear. but it appeared that the 2nd gear seemed to slip and there was a slight lag before it engaged. Is there a problem with the clutch or the way i am changing it?

The dealers have checked my clutch when i sent for service 3 weeks ago and there was about 70% remaining.

Could it be possible that it happened cos i may have released the accelerator while the gears were changing? I will have to try it again.

Btw, does anyone know what the rev limit is? 8200rpm?

  5. Hi guys,

Was thinking of fitting the RSC Tuning LP 560 style front bumper for my Gallardo '07. Has anyone bought this yet? Any thoughts?

Anywhere i can get them cheaper? Anyone selling?

Are there any installation problems? Size/shape etc, does it fit well?

If not, any other suggestions of front bumpers? i find the original ones quite dull.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi Nero,

Am actually getting the car from the dealer. So went back yesterday to test drive a different one. This time it was an '07 Nero. Yes you are right! It is actually the air intake that is making the noise. Its amazing how it can actually sound so metallic. Didnt know that the suction would be so strong. What if i were to change my air filters? Will the sound still be there? any experience?

  7. The noise is only when i step on the accelerator pedal. There is this grinding metallic sound, as if the accelerator pedal is driven by a cable and the cable is rubbing on something. The moment i release it, the sound goes away, but it comes again even at the slightest tap on the accelerator. Anyone had this experience before. I really dont think this is the air intakes. Sound seems to come from behind in the engine bay and not from the dash.

  8. Hi guys,

Am new to this forum. Am looking at an '07 Gallardo Spyder. When i test drove it, everything seemed fine. Sounded amazing but there was a squeak or grinding noise whenever i stepped on the pedal. even when i was cruising.

Is this normal? Is this a problem with the G cars? Could it be a throttle body problem?

Would appreciate if you guys could get back to me on this asap. Also, what other things should I look out for?
