  1. Im excited that my hunt is officially over as of yesterday. However it ended in a completely different manner than I expected. My head was a bit of a mess through all this. 6 speed for fun? But coming from 1300hp, will everything "stock" bore me? Should I save money and just get the 700hp Supra? Chads white was my fav, but will it bore me after 3 months? Anyways, after all that, my friends at ASS/CMC let me know about the following and I knew it "solved all my problems". I jumped on it immediately. Can't wait to receive this beast and start my own mods!

  2. I love my kids more than anything in the world. Acquisitions like cars and houses aren't even on the same planet as the love for my children.

When my son was born I grabbed the Gmail address for him. Every time something cool happens and we take photos or video, I send it to him with a note. When he's 16 I am going to give him the address and he will have a repository of all the notable events that have happened in his life. We've done the same for our daughter. It's an easy way to document their lives.

    GENIUS

Man, Im late but I may have to steal your idea. My wife makes a very cool photo book every single year on shutterfly for each child and gives it to them on their bday. 2 copies. 1 for us, 1 for them. One of my most valuable assets

  3.

Congratulations! Very exciting. Im a 42 yr old with 3 outstanding kids. They are so much more than I ever was, already. I could go on and on about this, but try not to. There is NOTHING that even comes close to being a parent. These cars, toys, speed, etc are all fun, but parenting is true joy. It's extremely hard at times, but absolutely the most rewarding thing you'll ever do in life (if you are focused on proper priorities). There is no secret sauce. We all ought to be required to take classes before having kids.

In your situation, just be the parent you always wanted. Think about that awhile. What grudges, disappointments, frustrations do you hold due to your situation. Don't fall into those traps. There is something magical about this. My dad had a similar situation to yours. He wasn't even close to a perfect Dad. He had his selfish years. But now with some age (73 yrs) and grandkids, he learned where his priorities are and where happiness lies. He is the Best Grandpa one could ever imagine. Now, Im better than my Dad in many ways, but not perfect. And my sons will be much better than me. It's now up to you to start that cycle for your future generations.

It's hard. You'll get mad, frustrated, and hurt more than you ever imagined. But those are few and far between and the good times are endless. For me, I had never been around babies. I could care less about others babies. But my babies... awesome. When its hard, it'll feel like the stage will never end. But man, my oldest daughter turned 16 a few days ago. Im BLOWN away by that. It seems like 3 yrs. ago she was a baby. And every stage is so fun. I hear people complain about teenagers. I don't get it. I having the most fun I've ever had with my teenagers. Snowboarding, motocross, yard work....Everything is better with them involved. I would say those who are complaining, are completely selfish and more worried about their time. They will regret it someday. Guaranteed. The time passes quickly.

The key is to ALWAYS love them no matter what. Yes, they need discipline. Kids are lacking that these days. But discipline doesn't mean "cruelty" or anger. I suck at that cause I wasn't raised that way. But if you could apply consequences with total calmness, you're kids would learn and succeed more than you could ever imagine. Kids need approval and love more than anything. I can't believe how cruel kids are these days. Social Media has created a whole new world. So kids need a safe haven (home) that they can return to EVERY SINGLE DAY to escape the world. You must create that safe haven. I grew up hating home. Don't do that. Worst thing ever and I have my own issues because of that.

    Kids Need:

    1. Love

    2. Trust

    3. A listening ear

    4. Friend

    5. Discipline/Guidelines

    6. Structure

    7. Self Reliance

    8. Advice

    Theres my sermon. ha

  4. Crazy Question: coming to Vegas this weekend for supercross. I THINK I'm in the market to look for a Murci, but I live in small town and never sat in one. I'm coming from a 1300 awhp GT-R, and I'm afraid I'll get one and be bored a few months later. I think that hp level has ruined me as I want that pucker factor. (Had a supercharged R8 for 3 weeks and got bored stiff)

I'd love to hook up in Henderson or Vegas fri or sat morn for a quick ride so I could get a feel whether I'd like it or not. I know that's a weird request and I'm not just a joyrider. Ha

  5. I agree! I have owned two different 2003 Murcies (obviously manuals) and currently own a 2007 LP 640 egear. If price point is a concern then the 2002 is a no brainer. I had zero issues with both 2003 cars and they were amazing cars. If you have the funds though I would recommend the 2007 egear. It is just a more refined and newer model and faster than the older Murcies. I love the egear, the interior is nicer (carbon fiber bits and Q stitching), glass engine bonnet, brakes are better, instrument cluster is nicer...again just a more refined Murcie. The front spoiler is lower than the older Murcies which is sort of a con for the car though the lines of the LP look better and cooler taillights and exhaust.

You honestly can not go wrong with either car. I would also agree that I would never even consider buying a roadster. Good luck with your decision and congratulations to be able to have one of these in your garage soon!

Thanks. Great to hear from someone whose had/has each. We'll see what happens.

  6. If it is my yellow gated car, I don't want anyone to feel like I was misleading. The car has 30900 miles, not 15k miles.. But it is as clean as a 5000 mile car... So its a wash. :icon_mrgreen:

ha of course it was. I was on my phone and couldn't remember the miles. So I just made stuff up. You're right though, it does make a bit of a difference. Really just wanted theoretical opinions to help educate and form my thoughts.

To be clear Chad, you have been extremely helpful and completely up front. I just don't know what I want yet and that whole $$$ thing. I will say, you've been good enough to deal with that I would pay a tad bit more to you than others due to up frontness and perceived honesty.

  7. In an effort to educate myself more while considering a purchase, I want to throw this out there. I've never sat in a roadster. I hear some hate them.

So if you were shopping, which would you pick? Please tell why. Thanks for playing along! Obviously $ would be a factor, but let's say all within $15k of each other.

    (Some are real, some fictional)

    A. 07 LP Coupe Egear Balloon White 15k miles

    B. 02 Coupe Yellow gated 15k miles (cheapest by $20k)

    C. 05 Roadster Gated Blue/light interior 5k miles

    D. 05 Roadster Gated silver 15k miles

    E. LP Bright color Egear 15k miles

  8. @nvrenuf

What would u suggest for modding seeing as this is my first GT-R

Congrats on your purchase. Would love a '13.

As always, how much do you want to spend?

For me, power would be first. But having a '13- Thats a different animal due to warranty, etc. I would do everything I could without affecting warranty. Cobb A/P and tune adjustments. At a minimum, an HKS570 kit. Ideally, SP Engineering SP650 kit (but I don't know warranty implications-its all bolt on)

Visual: lower it slightly (different ways to accomplish). Wheels? Strip off at least the hamburger badges (nissan). Just "clean it up" in general.

    Just to start :icon_thumleft:

  9. +1

Are you still considering the Lambo Jason?

Eugene and Fadi: I appreciate it. I'll probably call sometime. Don't know what direction Im thinking. I'm actually pursuing something totally off course right now and more necessary. I fly an airplane and its time for an upgrade (I've needed to for years now). So thats where Im heading right now. Therefore, Im purposefully not calling as its part of my therapy in trying to avoid wanting another toy  I know if I talk to you, I'll get the bug even worse.

  10.

The lambo owners that don't like the GT-R only cause they are pissed cause their lambo at 2-3x the price can't keep up no matter how hard they try.

Lambo. Sexiness that can't be compared and another level of "look at me, Im a baller". But no matter how you slice it, lambo needs 30% more power to keep up in anything short of texas mile. Im looking at cars now. Have always dreamed of a TTG, but even though, the performance falls short of my 830 hp GT-R.

Some commented on attention. If you mod the GT-R right, change the stance, clean it up, wheels, do some correct things to it.. All I can say is 1 year ago in L.A./Hollywood, my GT-R was VIP parked at several different places next to Lambo's, even a Carrera GT, and people ignored the others checking mine out. Of course, mine was de-badged and I think many just wondered what it was. And it was "special". Yes, Im proud, but mostly just missing it badly.
