Yest it is, but the later generation car faxes (like the one in the Aventador) also offer VOIP and in car hot spot facilities to guarantee 24h/7 LP connectivity. It's basically a company that gives you a vehicle history outline based in publicly reported data that would take you time to find yourself. It's useful when buying a car as a tool in your car history search during the buying process. They used to have an unlimited service option but it was widely abused to they recently nixed it.
