Tomas Trosssing Report post Posted December 31, 2012 Hi, I’m rebuilding my Urraco P250 -73 steering rack. Replacing a broken bearing and a broken center rubber boot/gaiter. One tip was the Lancia Beta steering rack (TRW) is the same, at least for the RHD cars. But my LHD Urraco steering rack is wider. The bearing seems to fit but the center rubber boot/gaiter is to short. Does anyone know what car the LHD Urraco and Japla steering racks comes from? (seems to be the same) Regards Tomas Trossing Attached the Jalpa steering diagram, page 029, where you could see the LHD and smaller RHD Lacia Beta steering racks. This is indeed a bit of a mystery area as I had the same issue with my LHD Silhouette! I obtained the new central gaiter from Betaboys. Perhaps they are selling spares for RHD Betas that also fit the RHD Urraco. I cannot say what type of rack was used on the LHD Urraco but perhaps the equivalent Beta parts are available in mainland Europe. Several racks were used on the Beta. Perhaps by carefully measuring the turns you can find out which rack is used on the LHD Urraco.... Early saloon TRW 4.04 turns and ZF 3.9 turns Late saloon and HPE TRW 3.82 turns and ZF 3.9 turns Early coupe TRW 3.82 turns Coupe and Spider TRW 3.50 turns Saloon and coupe USA TRW 3.82 turns and ZF 3.90 turns Good luck in your quest! P300V8 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 Thomas, Does your LHD car have the large serrated end boots? I think this might differentiate these as ZF boxes. See link. ZF type http://www.ebay.it/itm/LANCIA-BETA-CUFFIA-...=item27ccde3eb1 TRW type http://www.ebay.it/itm/CUFFIE-TERMINALI-SC...=item23266c0bcf

The LHD Urraco had a deeply dished wheel attached directly to the steering box, not the type shown although this looks similar to the arrangement on the RHD Urraco. Tomas Trosssing Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Hi, I have got the information that the Jalpa center rubber boot/gaiter is available from the Lamborghini factory and I have placed an order. 3 times the price of the Lancia Boot of course I Will keep you informed if it works for the Urraco. /Tomas
