speakers and amps for my 94 vt?

hi im looking to upgrade my stereo in my 94 vt,i have the stock unit with the sub woofer rear of drivers seat,it sounds ok ,im thinking of all new jl spaekers and jl amps and alpine head unit,what do you all think of the componets and also what size amps should i go for?

This is what I have, sounds pretty good:

-Alpine CVA1003 multimedia head unit

-Alpine CHA-S624 cd changer

-JL 250/1 subwoofer amp

-kicker comp sub

-sony explode crap amp, will be replaced soon with an alpine or JL amp for the mids

My car has the factory installed Alpine Premium sound system, it has two V12 amps and will absolutely blow you out of the car. I can look and see what components they have used, because this sytem was designed by alpine for the car, if you're interested.
