EyeDoc Report post Posted May 9, 2017 Hi Folks, I'm hoping someone can help me. Went on an epic drive yesterday and car was covered in bugs. Washed the car and as I was pulling it into garage, I had the engine bay door open as I drove car about 8 feet forward into garage. Of course warning light inside display went on to alert me that it was open. Once car was parked, I plugged in battery tender and went to close the engine bay cover and the lock mechanism was in the locked position and engine door would not latch closed. I thought if I restarted the car, the mechanism would reset but it didn't. Now what do I do? I can't close the engine bay door! No local dealer. Any suggestions as to what to do, any tricks would be greatly appreciated.
Griza Report post Posted May 9, 2017 Did you try to simply lock/unlock the car with the fob?

EyeDoc Report post Posted May 9, 2017 well, restarted the car again, locked and unlocked with fob and then it worked! hallelujah! Hubby figured it out...it's actually same mechanism as front bonnet. I hate all these electronic shit on these cars
