  1. ALLAN, I believe it was last summer, I responded to a post Eric made about whatever... and to me it seemed like he was throwing his wealth around in everybody's face. It was something to the fact about how he made more money in a week than most people make in a year. That freaked me out and I gave him a shot about being a 'pompous ass'! You and several other members 'tore me a new asshole!' At that time he was 'King of the Hill' because of the quantity of cars he owned, including several Lambos. He and I exchanged a few barbs over the next couple of days and then I apologized to him for possibly judging him in error after my good friend Hovik , said he was an OK guy but sometimes he just comes off the wrong way when challenged. Anyhow, I laid low of any further comments on him. It just seems to me like he wants to be a 'junior' Donald Trump and has a HUGE desire to be noticed and idolized! Instead of keeping a low profile and then freaking people out after they find out how lucky he is and yet doesn't boast about it at all, he goes on a 'braggadocio' tirade! Eric and I kinda patched up our differences and I'm sorry he left LP because he did add some facts and humor from time to time. I just feel Eric would serve himself better and have a ton more friends if he would just be more humble about his good fortune! If I remember correctly, doesn't he have a business that gives loans at 'HIGH' interest rates to people with really bad credit? Somebody has to service these people and I'm sure there are big risks involved for him. I wouldn't wanna have to put up with some of the 'immigrants' he has to. He has apparently been very successful at what he does and for that I give him his kudos. Eric, if you're reading this, sorry for the constructive criticism but as the saying goes.... "You'll catch more bees with honey than vinegar"! I hope you're doing OK which it apparently seems like you are. Come back one day and just be one of us 'commoners'!!! I'm sure if you do, you'll have a lot more fun and friends. The Mags
  2. NetViper, With due respect, I would like to counter some of the remarks you made. 1) OK on some but the speedo is alright there. 2) OK 3) OK 4) OK 5) Disagree! It reminds me of some of the big block muscle cars I had back in the late 60s and 70s. It has a deep throaty sound and you can definitely hear the exhaust! I don't think the blower is as loud as the F150 'Lightning' I had a few years ago. I use to love to leave the windows open and hear that whine when I nailed it! We had a National Hot Rod Show at Canfield, Ohio last summer and I went cruising down the main street and goosed the throttle of the Ford GT several times and brought huge smiles to everybody's faces! Quiet, I don't think so! 6) OK 7) The 'living with the car on a daily basis', it isn't that bad. I drive mine back and forth to work and to a certain restaurant whenever I can. The only problem for me is parking the car and keeping other cars away from it. 8) 'Bling factor'..... never heard of it..... that must be a Foreign language. If you mean 'attracting attention'.... I totally agree! And... I park mine away from everybody and on an angle which somebody in FCHAT referred to as 'Jackass Parking'. Sorry, but somebody would have to go out of their way to intentionally do something to the car. 9) Who in heck would drive it every day? I drive mine as long as it isn't raining or worse and enjoy every minute of it. OOPS) Not trying to sound like a pompous ass but..... who would spend $155K plus on any supercar and then worry about gas mileage? I don't think anyone who buys a supercar had gas mileage marked down as one of their 'deciding factors' Again NetViper, This was just a friendly counter to some of your complaints about the Ford GT. Michael
  3. HELP! Since if I remember right, your kinda flush in the financial aspect, go out and buy a Sony Mini DVD recorder and I believe the videos it takes are recorded in Quicktime which are recognized by McIntosh (the good computers) and Windows machines (pain in the ass computers)! If not, I'm pretty sure you just download them directly to your compter and it's in another format that almost all computers recognize. My sons tried mine and then went out and bought their own because they loved how easy they were to operate and my oldest son said the video was excellent! Michael
  4. Hi guys, Recently, I've been in and out of several forums and on one particular, a few members asked my impression of the the various cars I own. So, I started with the Gallardo, then the Murcielago, the F430, the Carrera GT, the 575 Maranello and my most recent post was with the Ford GT. What I did was start from the beginning on how I came across each car, what I had to do to finalize a deal and finally my driving impression of each one. I guess I owe my Lambo compadres an apology because as I started out, my reviews weren't as long or as detailed as when I got to the other cars. I became more long winded and more dramatic in detail everytime I did another car. I do not have a favorite car as I've stated before here on Lambo Power. I love them all the same! Each time I jump in one of the cars, it feels like a new experience all over again! Heck, since I try and rotate driving them equally, I sometimes forget certain controls on each car. Yesterday, while taking pictures of the Ford GT for my review, I forgot where the latch was to open the engine hatch cover! Took me several minutes to figure it out. I would like to leave the hyper-link for this web forum, but I want to ask if it's OK before I do so. I would hope that there's no adversarial problems with various sites but that's why I'm asking. If there is a problem with that, I could post any of the reviews here if the interest was enough. Please somebody let me know how you guys feel about this. p.s. Again, as the reviews changed from car to go, they got longer. The CGT, Maranello and the Ford GT especially. WARNING..... they are a little long but hopefully interesting. And all the reviews include at least 10 or more pics of each car with 1600 x 1200 pixels. Michael
  5. Sold to Yellow Fever... I just sent you a PM back with info... Thanks, Rich Richard, Did Yellow Fever come through on the watch? If not, PM me and we'll make a deal. Thanks, Michael
  6. Olivier, I'm sorry. I didn't explain the situation. She can't even spell stick.... she's a Blonde! :jack But, there is one stick she can drive. I guess I can be thankful for that!!
  7. I think we may be forgetting about one other car, an American car! I know you guys may not want to hear this, but I logged on to the POS forum out of curiosity and there were several guys on there claiming that they were doing LOW 11s in their new factory stock Z06s. That is some serious ET time. Now unless all these guys are huge bullshitters like the one we exposed a little more than a week ago claiming to have the first 2007 Gallardo Spyder in the U.S., I think they'd give my Carrera GT and Ford GT a very tough time in a street drag race if I would ever be so inclined to do so..... which as you know.... I ain't into anymore! For the money, you really can't beat the POS for fun, looks and speed. Sure there's a ton of them all over the place but that's my point. They're affordable for the 'regular Joe' who isn't as lucky as us to be able to purchase a Lambo or other exotic! At least give credit where credit is due! And they're American... which anymore, is a rarity in anything we buy nowadays. If they came in a automatic, I'd buy one tomorrow for my girlfriend to cruise around in and of course, it would give me a chance to test the theory of relativity, and see how fast they really are! monkeylt
  8. Is there a way to download those particular types of movies? It isn't Quicktime and I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks
  9. I honestly think most people at first sighting look at the 'car(s)' because they never seen anything like it before. I'm not sure if they know who the manufacturer is. Sure, some or maybe a lot of people may know, but the majority don't. I haven't had a chance to get the Murcie out that much yet but it will be interesting this Spring and Summer. Although I will tell you one thing, when asked what kind of cars I have, just the mention of a Lamborghini or Ferrari draws huge smiles and amazement on most people's faces! Notice, I mentioned Lamborghini first! Lastly, the Ford GT does too, amazingly, in looks and questions and "damn that was always my favorite sports car!"
  10. Bummer! I found this article on Midwest Lambo's website and here is the link: http://www.midwestlambos.com/forum/showthr...p?p=528#post528 I was personally hoping that they would build it someday cause I was hoping to get one in the future.
  11. I found this post on Midwest Lambo's website and thought it might be of interest to some of you. I think somewhere, maybe here, I saw this wreck before but I think this link has more pictures of it. http://www.midwestlambos.com/forum/showthr...p?p=525#post525. Sorry I couldn't make it a hyper-link, but I just don't know how to do that right now. Is there anyone out there that can give me instruction on how to do that?
  12. :?: OK... lemme think for a second or two. First I'd like to say I only have 700 to 1000 miles on any one of these cars. Between fighting the weather (I won't drive any of them in the rain and then waiting for the snow to melt here in Ohio and the salt dust to disappear) and then trying to drive each one an equal amount of time, it's hard to put lots of miles on them. The best handling would probably go to the Carrera GT with the F430 close behind. The Lambos really feel so planted on the road like you're never going to lose control. The CGT especially and then the F430 feel to me like they could break loose easier. Now another thing you have to remember.... I'm not a insane thrill driver like some of you other guys. The only car whose accelerator pedal I had to the floor was the Maranello and it felt excellent. I'll probably never find out any of their top performance in any category. The Ford Gt just seems quick as hell and also under control and really likes eating up freeway S-bends. The smoothest rides IMO are the Lambos. The CGT feels like a race car cause you feel a lot of the road surface. The first time I took it for a ride, my girlfriend and I could barely hear the radio over the road and interior noise. I guess after a while, we got use to it. The Lambos and the F430 have the friendliest and comfortable interiors. The one that's most exciting to drive would probably go to the CGT only because you actually feel like you're driving a honest to goodness race car! The others are just more manageable in feel for normal everyday driving and not necessarily in their lack of performance. Did I answer your question or did I leave something out. Please don't ask which is my favorite car cause I love them all equal..... kinda like my four children!
  13. You see, this is what I'm talking about. This is the true goal to strive for....not multiple L car ownership or F car ownership, but multiple everything! I'm convinced this is far better than just being a sole devotee to one marque. Magwheel, which car in your fleet do you categorize as the best driver's car?? I'm gonna guess it's the Porsche, but everybody has a different opinion. You have a PM. :-s Please help me with 'your' definition of "driver's car". Do you mean just cruising around, easiest to drive or kinda aggressive sport driving?
  14. Oliver, My Maranello is a 575. Not sure if there is much difference other than the horsepower. As far as being a 'dreamer'... I believe Enzo and Ferruccio and Thomas Edison were all dreamers. If it wasn't for them and others like them (my Father included), I'd be in the dark right now peddling around on my Schwinn. Nothing wrong with being a dreamer. Just never give up! Someday may be here sooner than you think. Just remember... Somebody's Mustang is their Enzo and they should be respected for their position in life!
  15. Hi Oliver, Being the Maranello was my first Ferrari, it's gonna be hard to trade up or for something else one day. I was absolutely amazed at the looks the Maranello gets.... especially from young kids 16-25 area. It really doesn't have the other's's supercar looks yet these kids seem to freak out over it. Needless to say, I always have a huge smile on my face when I see their looks and gestures of approval. But then again.. one day this kid watched me as I approached in my Gallardo, dropped his mouth wide open, and had his whole head and neck hanging out his car window as I passed. If a semi would have been coming by, he could have auditioned for this Fall's version of the 'Headless Horseman'!
