My odometer just quit so I removed the speedo, and found this. The Porsche 911 993 series is the same odometer.

I have the Larini with test pipes on my SV, there is a some burbling, and popping, I wouldn't call it cracking. I think it's just right.

Has anyone made any high pressure replacements? My #12 line broke and I need to replace.
You should be able to take it to a shop specializing in hydraulic hoses. Here in oil field country of Oklahoma we have lots of them. The only problem might be the metric sizes.

I've never run anything but 91, and I'm sure a lower octane could be used. Performance might be down, but that's what fuel injection and computers are for, as was stated it will make adjustments to deal with it. ie. won't ping. I think running more octane than necessary is just a waste of money. I'm more concerned about running ethanol over 100% gas.

Those temps are not too high. You're not even at boiling temp of plain water. With coolant mixture the boiling point would be even lower.

i simply do not get why people spend ...350k$ and more for a 6.0 and would not pay 180k$ for a nice, original 91
ok, the 6.0 is more refined, better brakes and has better build quality....but on the same time the 91 has the original pure design, is much lighter, is quicker and pretty simple tech....less things can go wrong
the chain tensioners are today 99% being changed so i cannot think is for that issue
i can understand a difference of 20% for rarity for the 6.0, but double? is totally crazy
O.T. at the same time i see prices of over 300k$ for FI anniversary
the early diablo is very much like a countach to drive: manual steering, hard clutch, difficult and at the same time rewarding to master. the late USA countach are 95% FI, so even that is the same.
design wise i do not see how the anniversary could be so much nicer looking than a early diablo...to me its design is so busy while the early diablo is very classic and elegant
As usual, right on Emilio. Perceptions put forth on the internet have a lot to do with misguided values. These cars are going to be driven so little, what difference does it make about reliability, comfort and so forth? And when you do drive it, shouldn't it feel different than your daily driver? That's what you're paying for.

Yes, climate control unit could be your problem. I had to change mine early on. Only problem is you won't know until you change it.

Looking down the road a lot of this car speculation is going to go away. Demographics will see to that with 20-30 somethings caring less about cars in general. They won't be attracted to older cars if at all, and as for the 50-60 somethings, paying $250K for a $3K Mustang, that generation will have to start divesting themselves of their toys for other priorities in life. Pretty sure all that will happen, just don't ask me when.
I have to say having the money or not, I wouldn't pay $300K for a Diablo now having bought at a much lower price, and gotten all the enjoyment I'm going to get out of it.

I'm tempted by both the Aventador, and Huracan, but from a dollars and cent's standpoint, to sell an appreciating asset for a depreciating one just doesn't sit well with me. Yes the money does matter after you've owned your car for a number of years. In addition, the newer cars can't hold a candle to the older ones unless you're all about technology. The newer ones are faster? That matters less and less as you age, and can't use the extra power on the streets anyway.

I'm like that. I'd rather buy an old car with no miles on it, and then spend all the $ required to fix her up, but then I have a "new" car and I'll be sitting in my own ass sweat not in the previous owner's ass sweat.

But the question is does high mileage hurt the value significantly, and the answer is yes.

The market is all things financial, if it should continue to fall and enter a period of malaise, or a bear market, the prices will surely fall from a psychological standpoint if nothing else. I don't see cars as any kind of safe haven from financial distress, gold either for that matter not enough to go around. On the other hand, it could rebound in a week or two and have no effect.
Care to guess what scenario?

Okay my point made, and then discredited using examples of child prodigies, or extreme exceptions. That's always the case. Different generations yield different opinions, that doesn't make one right or one wrong.

What is hard work today, sitting in front of a freakin computer terminal? Creating some silly app? There's no way a person has a handle of what works and what doesn't in their 20's you have to have lived to have gained that kind of wisdom, thus LUCK.
I'm not begrudging someone that can afford a Lambo in their 20's, it's just funny to me personally when someone that young talks about how hard they've worked. They either had a huge head start, or they stole it. Honest, success at that age is almost pure luck...Talking about business success, not entertainment, sports etc.
To carry on, I think you'd have to define success. If someone works their butt off, saves every cent, and can barley afford to get into that house, car, or whatever, that's not success in my book.

Nobody in their 20's really knows what hard work and sacrifice is..Not by a long shot. Whatever they did to achieve such success at a young age isn't impressive, it's just lucky. That, and it's just easier for some than years ago.

I shudder to think. I have been reviving the AC on my 40 year old Pantera and have discovered an AC system is it's own entity. Pretty complex with lot's of things that can be a problem. "Experts" aren't necessarily the answer either.

And to think he could get it with non-OEM wheels is even more ridiculous. Prices like that usually go to perfect, unmolested examples.

I have a set, very good, BUT I wouldn't risk driving my Diablo on it. First, I doubt the spoiler would clear. Two, too much clutch slippage getting it up there, and you have make a sudden stop once you get to the top. Too much white knuckling for me.
Also, it's no good for any fluid changes.

Probably because of all the bashing of early model cars. If it's not a 99 it's no good. At least that's the impression you get from reading opinions, which are for the most part just repeats of what somebody else said.

Seriously, the best thing is just not use it. Don't go anywhere there MIGHT be a grade you can't get over. Both of my cars have the adjustment light flashing on the console, try as I might, can't get them to go off. The whole system is a mess, and older these cars get, the worse they get.
