So last month I call my Uncle Chumak81 and ask, any books laying around your old shop you can "hook your favorite nephew up with?....surprise me"
He replies in hand written letter on a napkin...... "Tonino, thought I gave ya plenty'a surprises this year." I thought he wrote me off..... Then today this shows up with a new napkin message attached "More to come, help carry a legacy on and preserve Italian history as I did"-Uncle Chumak
The Nuovo Automobili Lamborghini catalog ( Pezzi Di Rocambio Countach lp500s
Lamborghini S.p.a., Dated 1984. Full parts manual for the Countach 5000s 5000qv dated January 1984. Over 100 pages of diagrams, each page accompanied by detailed parts list with part numbers and description in both Italian and English. Information on carbed & injected cars. Valuable information for the restoration of this rare exotic.
Cant thank him enough, always comes through when I least expect him to. Thanks for the Surprise Unc..

I think the problem you have stems from owners who want to see their cars values go up, people not taking into consideration that certain cars are unique and then in their minds applying these values to their own cars. Then you have sellers such as Tony, who are attempting to price these cars as high as possble, hoping for a Euro buyer to snap the car up for what they consider a bargain... Thats why most of these cars are not selling in the U.S.
This car is an example.. Seller attempts to point out this is a special car.. Unique interior, unique color, polished wheels (very rare lol) and awesome factory fuel injection known to be the worst performing of the entire Countach line. Looking at this car, you can tell interior needs redo, even if just to keep the way it is. Paint job is rough, engine compartment looks rough etc. Now in the Countach lineup, they are all of course great cars because they are a Countach, however as we did here before if they lined up one of each production line, this car or an Anniv would be the least desirable of the bunch... So how could you possibly justify paying 140k for this car, and adding atleast inmo 20K to fix the faults and still end up with one of the least desirable cars in the line with a color change. Especially when Aniiv cars in great shape are selling for 100-120K , Countach QVs F/I are also in that same range and MUCH better cars then the example we are speaking of.
Inmo, the prices of these cars really havent gone up all that much. Europeans are snapping up Carbed cars as they find the F/I cars undesirable, this has driven prices of these cars up, while F/I cars continue to be the black sheep
Prices of my past sales since Jan 2012
1) 83 5000s(carb) does $169500 asap
2)87 5000qv(fi) 1200miles does $200.000 asap!
3)85 5000s(f1) does $139,000 stays in U.S. asap
4) 89 Anniversary blk/blk 3500 miles sold Friday for $135000 asap
I was told by a few guys on here that my
-87 would only do 120k tops
-83 dealer offered me just 85k
-85 dealer offered my 80k
-89 offered me 85k and I sold it for 135 thursday. (real nice car)
I wonder what price they would be asking if I had sold them.
My 85fi car needs some finishing(mainly interior), I have 3 more CT's coming and they are all Carbureted so its time for Miss Merlot to go.

So color change to non factory? Too bad but I'd live with it.
I get the call and buy the car over the phone(no pic), I was wondering how this(Merlot) would look, then the truck opened up and the sun hit the side of her......I just smiled!

Is that a factory color? The interior is not factory, the additional stereo mods, chrome wheels, and crappy F/I system on that car are a definite detraction inmo.. Whats he asking for that car?
They are not chrome, they are polished. It's how the original owner bought the car new. Paint was a color change, the car was originally Nero/red. I didn't like it but next to the red and black, boy does it stand tall!

Just wanted to say that your video is very motivating, I tried to imitate what you were doing, and my car looks great. The old paint shines again, and I am having a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing!
It's the best therapy!

I'm here on the forums for the same reason you're all here:
I love Lamborghinis.
Here is a short video that myself and Andrew Howell (Facebook.com/howellphoto) put together over the weekend that I think you all might enjoy. I hope that in it, you are able to see just how passionate I am about my cars.
Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are here to help each other!

The show was great, however the cars had to be picked up early in the week, I never finished the final stage of compounding and the car never got detailed(GRRRRR)! I Hated showing her in that condition cause she still needs a bit of work, but the Kids loved them plus I promised Jeff I'd get them there. I will be sanding and buffing my DD this week, can't wait to see her all Tonyed out. Here are some pics of the show.

Hi guys,
I'm sure there are a number of guys named Tony in Florida who like or may own a Countach.
To be clear, I have never sold a bad Countach to anyone.
I am the restorer of record of the Cannonball Countach as well as currently restoring Brian's LP400S2.
I am the person who started the DeLorean Motor Company Franchises in 2004 and still own the southeast territory.
I am also the Shelby and Superformance dealer for Florida as well as a full service Dyno & speed shop.
My Auto Itala division services and restores vintage, classic & modern Italian cars.
I work and have a good relationship with a number of dealers and vendors across the country.
I changed my username a while ago to be my actual name so people would not confuse me with others.
I wish Tony Rienzi the best of luck with his business.
Tony Ierardi
Thank you Tony.
I make my way over to your cars at every venue!! Always leaving Impressed and Educated!

Couple of pics of the sanded door( even str8 lines) easier to remove by keeping the buffer in a general direction, less swirls and it won't look like you were signing your name with the buffer. (crazy swirls)
The finish pic is compound only then wiped clean with a micro fiber and turtle spray wax.....

Wow that's an awesome video. Anything you could share on what we could use and steps to follow to improve our cars?
I am working on a full step by step video in HD...hope I can finish it up soon. working on my 84 now.

Wow great job, I wish I could do that to my black DD
with the right technique you sure can.

Hope you guys enjoy the video. I always get asked, "Tony, who details your cars?" &" How do you get your paint to look so Deep?" The answer is: I wet sand them to perfection, I don't trust anyone to touch my cars with sand paper or a buffer. I have a process of heating the molecule in the paint, then making them dance into place.....There is a technique I came up with when scuffing the surface before sanding, then its all about controlling the wheel to stay where you want it too... You see anyone can buff a car with the right technique. The idea is to slowly heat the molecules in the paint (with the buffer) And if the lines from the sandpaper are in order, they are much easier to remove when buffing. Think of heating the molecule the same as hot toast.... if you were to put butter on cold toast it will make a scratching sound from friction, if you have warm butter, warm knife and warm toast....It will spread like butter (the paint). And anyone that applies the correct technique can achieve the same results I do. No need for years of experience. If you approach it as a science you will have professional results. ... Id be glad to help anyone with questions on doing it themselves. Ciao.

"but he's a better seller for it in the long run. Even if he can observe the dynamics of the varied comments here, he can better understand the varied personalities he could be selling to" - SingleSeat.
My Grand Father would agree with SingleSeat here 100%, its what he always taught me.
Gotta love "The Old Country Connections"-Countach Book arrived!

I'll ask him for you...
He was real proud of me getting both countaches in museums. I know they are meant to be driven, but he and I think lil different we like to see them go where they will be preserved and displayed for kids to see, it might even change their lives as it did mine..
The deal he made with me is this " For every Countach I find a home for, he will send me something historical. I thought the pics he sent me last month of the old factory were cool but this book will come in handy.
