  1. Last year I needed a new compressor and for some reason the place in France could not ship to me, cant remember why but I ended up getting the correct compressor in the US from Automotive Budget 727 232 0887.

The compressor is a sanden SD7H15 (see picture)

They advertise on ebay and although more expensive than the French supplier that Stimpy used I offered them $750 and they accepted.

  2. That looks so much better in black and orange and a first class job.

I need a bit of interior work done on mine, roof liner has come unglued a bit and has a slight sag, also the leather on the doors closest to the glass window seems to be stretching a bit and has a slight pucker to it, both not bad and only really noticeable by me but as they say once you have seen it, it cannot be unseen.

Sorry to resurrect but I thought I would share my endeavours and the outcome.

Yesterday I finally got round to taking the door card off. What a pig of a job! Following the recommendations I got a mate to gave me a hand. The job would definitely be challenging going solo.

Door card off everything looked good. No broken cables, window seated correctly and no evidence of anything amiss.

The mechanism is a £2k part and probably close to £1k for a dealer to fit. Faced with this I decided to have one final poke at the centre consul control switch. I pulled it out (easy, 15 second job) and was testing the connections with my multi meter. All of a sudden up went the window ! It turns out one of the bayonets had a bad contact in the female. After a little bit of fettling the switch now works the window.

For peace of mind I will replace the switch. £60 plus a bit of postage.

In conclusion - if anyone else ever has this problem I implore you to check the switch as your first action. It could be it will save you a lot of money and time with no noticeable increase in blood pressure (door card removal related)

I love a happy ending, one that costs less than am 18 month old Mini!!!!!!

Sorry you’re not happy with it. Mine came with primary cats still in place due to CA & I like it. Here’s a rookie video I did a few years ago, although I didn’t take the RPM too high as I was just getting used to the car.

I thought at the end of that video as the door opened we were abut to see what you looked like Dan.

Car sounds good by the way.

This is the exact compressor. Only difference is the connector on the compressor wire, but you can splice in the one from the old compressor.

This is a super popular compressor on many cars around the world, but the exact configuration is not common in the US. If you don't get the exact one, you risk issues with the pulley and high/low connection points.

Thanks Stimpy, was looking to find the exact cross that you supplied. Still a grand US but much better than the lambo or please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors price.

You gotta give us a few more details.

How many miles on the car?

    E-gear?

If E-gear, what's the SNAP reading on the clutch?

If manual, what's the explanation given for needing a clutch?

Does that price include a new throw out bearing?

What was the stated cause of the check engine light?

What was the stated problem with the A/C compressor?

Did your front tires look worn? What's the date code on all 4 tires?

Honestly, you may need all that stuff, and that price is not surprising for a dealer, or you may need next to none of it. The clutch could have a lot of life left, the AC compressor may not really be the cause of your AC not working (e.g. the refrigerant is leaking out of a Schrader valve), and you may not be due for a valve adjustment.

A dealer is expensive. For instance, they are going to charge you $4-5K for a compressor and $500 for a drier, and the exact same parts can be purchased from Ecoclim.com in France for $400-500 for the compressor and $50 for the drier. It's a royal pain to change the compressor while the engine is in the car on a gen-1 Murci. I know because I did it, but it's not crazy difficult and can definitely be done in the car.

As Stimpy says from a lambo dealer the compressor is stupid expensive $3-5k but if you look around it is a SD7H15 Diavia and is used on many Euro cars ( I found it on Fiats through to Rolls Royce) even seems to be OE on some late 1990's jeep Cherokees. can be purchased for under $200 in the US

I think I need a new clutch on my compressor so have been looking but will confirm the fit when I find out

  7. So my AC was working for about 5 miles following changing out the fuse behind the seat then stopped again, am going to look at that fuse but now assume it is something else.

If it is the clutch on the compressor has anyone got a cross over so I dont get the Lambo tax, also any other things to look at, I know the fan for the radiator works as it comes on when the car is idling and gets hot.

Seems my day finally arrived where the passenger mirror no longer moves. Months of slight coaxing while working the switch was working pretty well, but as you can see now stuck in the middle position. It doesn’t even make a grunt/gear noise anymore, although driver side works fine so I figure no fuse blew. If I could just get it to open all the way then I would just leave it like that in the fully open position but no luck...ugh!

Mine are stuck in the open position but they stick out so much vey are very vulnerable so I think I will make the repair soon.

Well it turned out to be a fuse after we refilled it or during it must have popped the fuse as it wasn't blow prior, it was the 15 amp fuse behind drivers seat.

So the last 3 people (me included) maybe more have needed to change the fuse behind the seat, must be a reason, could it be age related and the compressor clutch is taking more power?

I finally had a chance to test drive with the new setup for my 05 Roadster:

    - LOC exhaust

    - secondary delete

    - fabspeed primary delete

    - Reid air intake

at first I didn’t notice much of a difference.   It sounded a little louder at idle.  Sadly I don’t think I have the highly desired high pitch F1 sound I was looking for.  I didn’t get to drive on fwy so I didn’t get a chance to go wide open on load.   Maybe tomorrow.   What I surprised to notice was that I no longer hear the Reid intakes.   Another surprise is that I didn’t get the smelly exhaust that people have been complaining about.   Nothing more than what I was used to before I deleted the primaries.   Thankfully I don’t have any CEL.   Another observation is that I no longer have a rasp at mid band rpm range.   Unfortunately I do hear/have a pronounced drone more than before.

Il going to keep this setup and drive for a couple runs before I swap the LOC with TUBI which I happen to have.   From what I’ve read, I will not likely find tubi giving me higher pitch than LOC.

My friends heard me drive up  today and he ran out and told me he noticed the sound is much improved.   I shouldn’t be complaining so much.   The sound is definitely improved but I will not stop until I get the higher pitch.   I know others have tried multiple combinations so I’ll take any suggestion that will make the murc a “screamer” - short of trading up for a lp640

    Thank you in advance

I seem to remember that the exhaust that produced to best FI sound on a murci was the kreissieg but it is expensive.

See if you can find some you tube vids.

No more auto-correct to POS?  It's a Lambopower milestone!

Very interested to see the new car, and I hope they don't take it solely upmarket.  A V8 ME great handling vette that still starts in the $70k range would be very interesting.

For sure a 70k mid engine Corvette would be good but my guess is closer to 100k

  12. So my a/c decided to stop blowing cold air today and before I take it in I thought I would check a few things.

When I turn it off and on from the eco button I cant hear the compressor clutch engage or disengage so I did a search on here and found a 2 year old thread where JeffLambo said the check the clutch fuse and in that situation it turned out to be correct.

The op said the fuse was behind the drivers seat with the clutch relay, anyone care to point me in the correct direction as I thought all the fuses etc were either in the passenger foot well or on the end of the dash?

    Thanks for any help

    The car is an 08 LP640 .

  13. All is good.

The car changed gear just fine during my trip on the interstate and it was just me forgetting and expecting the old 1990's tech egear to  be comparable to my 2018 MB dual clutch or our Porsche 911.

Had a hoot driving it though.

Just curious what you mean by a slow shift; is there excessive slippage in the clutch? Or is it the time between shifts up and or down?

is it equally consistent regardless of speed/rpm etc?

Also, assuming you are hearing the pump running when you open the door and it also sounds familiar enough and not shorter or muffled in any way

I am going to drive it on the interstate to see how it works, it changed gear every time yesterday but seemed to take its time from when the engine (pull the paddle) cut to going to the next gear, no clutch slip though.

I want to get it on the interstate where I can put it in sport and do some high rev foot on the floor gear changes.

It may be that I have forgotten that it is an old system and no where near as fast and seemless as todays boxes and also I got a new AMG GT a month ago and that changes gear pretty fast with the DCT trans axel.

    I will report back later.
