  1. If i ever get the time to make the hyd. setup, it will fit any Countach.

I have several T/O bearings for the later cars, but have never taken the time to find a replacement bearing.

Can you fit a hydralic T.O bearing to a 1986 countach? Are you able to rebuilt the bearing?I wonder how much it would be?

How much do you want for your used or bad T/O bearing?

  2. I have two (2) of the aluminum pressure plates that I had rebuilt, several years ago, just have no use for them now.

Also in my 87 Countach I have a push ten (10) in clutch, using a hyd. throwout bearing assy. I am going to remove the engine from my car soon. When I do, I am going to make copies of what I did and have the part as a kit for sale. Somebody already makes the setup, but will not sell it as a kit.

The hard part will be finding a good ten (10) inch pressure plate and disk assy. Then again I have not been spending the time to look.

I will keep everyone up to date, once I get the parts.

My problem is just finding the time to look.

  3. I used to have a regular 95 Diablo before I got the VTTT. It drives the same except for better brakes and surprising acceleration once the boost kicks in. I have had no problems with the car except for one leaking front shock I had to replace. They didn’t just bolt turbos on. There is air to water intercooling, an extra radiator with two fans and an extra A/C condenser.

The turbos don’t fully spool until about 4000 rpm so with normal driving the additional stresses on the car are minimal. It is a gradual change, not violent. I took it to the drag strip once. I launched a idle ( I don’t want to hurt my clutch)

The sixty foot was 2.7 seconds and the car ran 13 flat at 125 mph. The trap speed is the same as my 10.5 second Camaro.

The car is great, I like the closed headlight Diablo body style the best.

I was thinking of getting a Ford GT, but decided that would be trading down.

Was the Twin turbo engine beefed up to handle the extra hp?

What's your compression ratio? Was it lowered?

Do you have stock radiator or an upgraded one?

  4. Extremely different. Every bit of fat has been stripped out.... actual weights varying from just under 3200 (with US exhaust replaced with aftermarket) to 3300 (I haven't scaled mine yet). Early 2wd Diablos, 3550lbs or so, later VT's 3700 or so. Roadsters.... 3900 lbs.

Engine is a 91-93 Diablo block, pistons cranks & flywheel are lightweight version (compression is same as normal Diablo). Valves are larger and are titanium. Upper engine bits (intake plenum, cam covers) are magnesium. My engine builder (who went through mine pretty thoroughly) guestimates high 500's at the crank. All of it is in the last 2000 rpm, so you have to wind it up to get the juice.

Long list of other little differences, mostly in the weight saving department. Brakes are decent... much better than standard older Diablo, but not as powerful as later Brembo version (though you have less mass to stop). Cockpit adjustable rear sway bar and traction control for different driving conditions.

Car is lightning fast, and very long-legged. Acceleration pretty much the same at 140 as at 80... builds speed terrifyingly fast. Feels very light and nimble.

Do you have ATE or Brembo calipers?
