  1. Thanks ya'll... So where do I look for a used Diablo or Murci? I would love to buy a Murci with factory Wing.

    Some questions.

    1) How do you make minor or major repairs? Must I live near a major city for repairs?

    2) Dangerous attention while driving, like young kids cell phone video-blogging?

My main worry is repairs and maintenance.

    Appreciate it fellas!

The only Murci I can think of that came with a factory wing is the SV.

  2. The human life aspect is IMO not politically-correctness. Politically-correct is refusing to call al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists, savages, evil, etc...not saying we need to think about the innocents. ISIS wouldn't be a problem if we hadn't treated them so lightly in the first place.

ISIS wouldn't have been a problem if we didn't half ass everything (due to politics). ISIS was created by former Al-Qaeda/Ba'athist fcuk heads all sharing a cell in jail. But then we let them out. That's the short short version of how ISIS got started.

  3. You and StoleIt would know better than myself, but it appears that it's not stopping or slowing the momentum.

    Am I off on that?

Right as I was coming back from my last deployment we managed to push ISIS out of Tikrit. They are definitely losing ground when being confronted by the Kurds or Iraqi Security Forces w/strong air support. But they aren't stupid and when attacked in one area they will find a weakly defended area elsewhere and go take that leaving tons of IEDs and traps at the area they just left.

Are we bombing ISIS to the degree we should be? Like, could the military be bombing them with a much heavier bombing campaign?

Without bringing back carpet bombing I'd say we are doing pretty much 100% what needs to be done from an aerial perspective. We have plenty of bombs in the air but generally not enough solid intel to always employ.

Wait, so that whole territory that was taken over. What's happening with that? Are we bombing camps within it or what?

What terrority are you refering? We are bombing targets all over their "caliphate."

  4. Wont happen.... ISIS is tight with Saudi since they are both sunni. US makes a show that they want to take them out but is too buddy buddy with Saudi.... As George Carlin said... it's all bullshit folks. They throw the catholics off the ship then dock in a catholic country and seek refugee status and they take them in... western world has to stop being so soft..... Every country should operate as Isreal does....

Trust me, besides troops not being on the ground, we are pounding the shit out of ISIS. I supported more strikes in my last deployment flying over Iraq than my previous 4 in Afghanistan.

I don't know why it really isn't in the press much (besides when we take out a higher up) but there is a huge coalition flying over there 24/7.

  5. Pulled my eForm 1s to SBR the Tennessee Polymer Lowers. Had issues with 2 of my lowers and decided I didn't trust them let alone wanting to sink $200 a pop into them for an SBR.

Sticking with aluminum until Mapgul comes out with a polymer lower.

    What were the issues?

I like my New Frontier Armory polymer lower. The take down pins are pretty stiff but beyond that not a single complaint.

  6. Too much money for the miles. My buddy just picked up the same car (year/6spd/color) for less cash with a documented service history, less miles, and factory wheels.

At $90k they are closer to market price, if it includes OE wheels.

Sounds like an awesome buy for your friend. I'm jealous!

Yea I was thinking bottom 90's if not high 80s for this car depending on maintenance.

  7. I see 4 6MT Gallardos on Autotrader for under 100k. ;)

Haha trust me I have a browser full of potentials.

My min requirements are: 6 spd and a unique color (mostly orange/green). Bonus points for updated nose and exhaust.

  8. The article is horseshit.

    This. So much this.

The F-35 may not live up to the hype that Lockheed wrote/sold us in the brochures, but short of the F-22 this is going to be the next best jet in our inventory.

Sure, the F-35 may have it's shortfalls, but there are experts out there (USAF Weapons School & Navy Top Gun) that will learn how to use the jet in a fight and to maximize it's advantages and minimize its weaknesses. Same as we did with the F-4, which turned out to be one of the most mass produced and successful fighter aircraft in history.

Some good reading to debunk the OP: http://fightersweep.com/2548/f-35-v-f-16-article-garbage/

What are people going to say when the first fully operational block F-35 gets a high off bore-shot kill on an F-22? Sure the F-22 is a hell of a lot more maneuverable than the F-35...but it's hard to out maneuver an AIM-9X coupled to an IRST and/or JHMCS (or whatever they are calling the F-35's helmet these days). People seem to forget that the F-22 can't even carry an AIM-9X yet will bash the F-35, which isn't even IOC yet, for not having a working gun or being able to carry an SDBII.

    /rant.

  9. Thanks!

Yea the lower, which is polymer, is currently spec'd exactly how it comes out of the box from New Frontier. I am strongly considering an ACE stock or a Battle Arms type setup. But MaciekR nailed it, that current setup it lighter than my VLTOR stock and a Magpul MOE.

  10. Yeah if I decide to do it I would definitely do instrument rating as well. I figure I will go for a discovery flight when I get a chance and see if it's something I want to get in to, but seems like it would be fun.

I recommend doing the flight as early in the morning as possible. Not sure how warm it is where you are but odds are if it's warm and bumpy you will not enjoy your first flight. But if you can get some smooth air and have pleasant temps you'll be hooked.

    Enjoy!

  11. I started off in GA and would recommend to anyone to try it out. If you plan on flying more than once a month or doing serious commuting I highly suggest doing your instrument rating as well. Pretty much every VFR pilot I know has ended up in IMC by accident and they all swore they would get their IFR after the experience.

Obviously, I love flying, but it's not really a hobby I recommend doing half assed. If you commit, treat your training seriously because it will one day save your life.

  12. Well getting off my ass and finishing my lightweight built. I'd say I am 80% done now, just missing a lightweight BCG, lightweight buffer, gas tube, gas block, and pinning the muzzle device. I'll gain .8 oz with the V7 gas block and maybe .1 oz with the tube but then plan to lose a bunch with a high end BCG.

For reference, an unloaded milspec M-4 weights 6.36 lbs.

Edit: The barrel and hand guard are not torqued down. I only put them on hand tight to check and make sure everything fits. So that's why there is an egregious hole between the upper and handguard.

  13. A good buddy of mine and I finally made the time after our local Cars and Coffee to give each others car a try. He has an 04 Gallardo 6 speed with basically straight pipe exhaust. It sounds fantastic and will seriously give your heart pause if you are standing behind it when he gives it a good rev. I have a Gen 3 Viper coupe with a Paxton kit making around 670rwhp.

    R9P1PGK.jpg

So after a cruise over to the Twin Peaks for lunch we decided to do the swap.

Thoughts: The 6 speed on his Gallardo is amazing. It is most similar to working the rifle bolt on a tricked out Remington 700 IMO. This was my first experience with a gated shifter and I didn't find it annoying or unnatural at all, so I am bit taken back since pretty much everything I have ever read in print media is negative toward them. The sound...wow. Went through a tunnel with the windows open and gave it a good 2nd gear pull...be still my beating heart. Lastly, it was extremely planted. Not sure if it's the 4wd or just the suspension but I kept WOT through a turn that I would have easily lifted in my Viper.

His thoughts: He really liked the sound of mine and compared it his Gallardo. This was also the fastest/most powerful car he had ever driven, and he really liked the power-band of the supercharger. He also owns a gen 2 Viper and definitely noted how much easier it was to drive than his RT/10.

Anywho, I get to cross out "drive a manual Lamborghini" from my bucket list now. And must accelerate (pun intended) my plans on purchasing one...
