  1. Hey fastlane,

Neither of the events have been set yet. I hope I didn't get you too excited by referring to them as "upcoming". I just meant it as the next ones to be scheduled. The Mojave Mile just took place last month and there's a possibility it will be the only one for 2014 but sometimes a later event in October or November is announced during summer. The Coalinga/Bakersfield area 1/2 mile events are usually promoted by Shift Sector and we should see announcements for their next event soon. I was really hoping to have my car ready for the Mojave event last month but car builds - we know how they go. There's a possibility I'll be throwing the car on a trailer and hauling it up to Colorado Springs for the 1/2 mile event in late June. If you CA guys are interested in attending these events, I'll be sure to post them up when they're announced. Hope to see you all out there!

Yes please do I wanted to go to the Mojave event but I missed it by a week, didn't pay enough attention. I did the original 1 mile Mojave event with my LP640 when it was called runway titans, and a 1/2 mile event near Bakersfield put on by lambda lambda lambda and the lambda lambda lambda and the omega mu mu motor sports with my Mclaren. Always looking for an event to supplement the 1/4 mile weekends.

  2. certainly sounds like it's shifting very fast.... 610HP, 3,200 pounds, AWD and DCT, 0-60 in 3.2, why so slow.... 991 Turbo has much less power, more weight and is much quicker....

True weight will be more like 3400 lbs in street trim

  3. Had my R888's mounted up a couple weeks ago, I know not to 'get on' the car the first day so the lube can dry and not have he tires move/rotate on the rim. Last few times out I noticed some steering wheel vibration so I take it back up to the tire shop, they spin all 4 wheels and all of them are out of whack. They tested the wheels and they were perfect/true, then rebalanced, no more lube was added.

We marked the tires/wheels so we could tell if they moved and I drove home 20 miles, the car was super smooth. After parking I check the marks and two of the tires had moved 2-5 inches on the rim.

Anyone else see this, or test? R888's prone to this? not enough pressure maybe? I have 35 front and 32 rear....

Try sanding and roughing up the finish where the bead meets the wheel that should solve the problem.

  4. I guess it all depend on when you buy I went to the dealer in march or April 2012 priced the MP4-12c out how I wanted it, the MSRP was $294300 they wanted to order it for me said about 4 months wait I asked for a discount from MSRP NO not even $1000 off I walked. I went back into the market about 6-7 months later right after the 2013 start to show up bought exactly what I wanted at $45000 off MSRP. So if I bought the first time I would feel pissed at how much it went down but I think at the price I paid the drop is no big deal, especially for a car that rides and handles real well and runs low 10s in the 1/4 mile. Timing is everything.

  5. I have seen Mclaren vs Aventador in lots of 1/4 mile runs and a half mile runs and since the Mclaren had its update at the end of 2012 it has won every race I have seen. The McLaren has run mostly low to mid tens the Aventador has run low elevens the only time I have seen a high 10 listed for the Aventador is from a magazine , it is capable in good weather and good driver to run a high 10. The Mclaren in good air will perform great the ECM lets the boost come in, when it's hot it backs it way out to protect the motor and knocks off a few tenths.

  6. this looks over rated this is hp @ the crank! And thanks for your patience!(84.13K. 683 hp @ the crank!

This is different then what we were talking about before. 680hp at the crank is a bit low, the dyno did not give crank HP it gave WHP so the 680 came from someone converting it up from WHP I thought you said it made 624WHP if so it is much more then 680 crank. Find out what it made at the wheels.

  7. It's possible but not likely unless the car is factory de-tuned, example, C63 AMG....

75hp extra from only an ECU-map; on a naturally aspirated engine. no chance in hell.

It may be setup to add some power in the mid range where it was low without changing the peak power.

  8. Ok thanks again ! What does your car put @ the wheels? And I would like for you to explain since you are a expert in this.LP-700-4 has 680 hp @ crank! So does Lp-720 have only 700 hp @ the. Crank? If so why are they under what they are rated at?They can be of by 20 hp?if so why is this?

You seem to be confused if the car made 624 HP on the Dyno that is WHP at the crank it is 700-725 hp that is more then the 691 advertised nobody said it was 680 at the crank. It is under rated it puts out a bit more then advertised 691 if it is 700-725. The new 720 is rated by the factory about 19-20 hp higher when someone puts it on the same Dyno at the same time as a 700 you will know the difference between the two probably not much a bit of a software tune will due that much change If the average engine is 2% of advertised then you are looking at less then 15HP either way. The daily weather change causes more then that.

  9. I agree with you 100% .... !!!

only figure anyone should be interested in, and what the industry should accept going forward, is the amount of power being put down AT THE WHEELS. Anything else is useless info.

    I agree with you 100% .... !!!

So if you agree 100% why don't you just post your 624 WHP which is a really good number instead of trying to say it means 780 hp
