My gut tells me the car will essentially be a mini-Aventador. Carbon monocoque architecture, 600hp, heavily digital interior, awd at first release and most importantly ... Faster than the MP4!
The Aventador is not faster then the MP4 so how could the new G be.
-
It looks great They should be able to clear the codes with any ORB II tester 40 bucks at any auto store they must have one.
-
Alex knows the Aventador driver well, and said he drives very good. Inmo, the CGT put up a very good showing.. It is manual transmission that isnt the quickest shift. The CGT has a tune, not bad to run with a cars that are much newer and with much faster transmissions. I think its safe to say the MP4 is faster than the Aventador as well.
I agree the CGT needed to shift get his rpm timing correct It ran and sounded like a CGT with a tune. The aventador sounded like it had an exhaust but i am not up on the sound of that car. The young man driving the Aventador seemed smart and alert and into it I don't know how much ther is to screw up just pressin on the gas.
Now if it was this then it is a different story driving.
-
That explains it. There is no way that outcome (esp that big) is real. Allan, go show them how to do it!
Another thing most people don't realize is the power to weight on the Aventador is 4.96 Vs 4.58 for the MacLaren and that is dry weight when you add the fluids the 12cyl picks up more weight then the little V8 will and the power to weight advantage grows even more. 3472/700 vs 2868/625 and I think the Aventador listed weight would be hard to reproduce.
-
I was at the event in the Gallardo. The driver of the aventador had to clue how to drive. He couldn't have been older than 18 lol.
The thing about driving the Aventador or the Mclaren in a straight line from a roll is it requires no skill at all you put them both in auto mode and then step on the gas at some point you step on the brake to stop no launch no shifting just hold on.

By the vids looks to me like the CGT held its own better than the Aventador..
It only looks that way because the CGT got the jump on the McLaren before the start I think the car length loss would have been the same. The camera angle was bad to judge distance, I think it was 4 cars on the Avantador and 3 on the CGT and it started 1 car length early

It came from the Aventador driver himself..
I can post the CGT vs McLaren also I know how to post the address but not how to Embed the video.

I heard their was also a race with the Porsche CGT, where the Aventador got out on it, but if they would of kept going a just a little bit longer the Porsche would of passed it.
Unless one of the two drivers said how any race ended or there is video from the car you could not see the finish by a 1/4 mile

I didn't see that one but the CGT ran the McLaren and lost by about 3 cars. I think the CGT was modified it didnt sound stock unit but a really nice one.

the 12C is faster than the Aventador.
The interesting part is with hot tires 0-60 is 2.7 and it doesn't need all wheel drive, that surprised me.
-
Yes, I heard about this race. Was told it lost several times on a roll.
I didn't see the Aventador lose to anyone other then the McLaren With the 1/2 mile you couldn't see the end of the race from the start to really tell who won or lost, but there is a video from the Maclaren race with Video from the Mclaren back to the Aventador showing the whole race, and there is another from the starting line. I will try to get it.

Last Saturday there was a 1/2 mile roll race in Bakersfield at Minter field. There was a race between an Aventador and a McLaren Mp4 The McLaren won by 3-4 car lengths
-
Supposedly this wend..but I doubt it with roll bar etc being done..
Mclaren Newport has to come over with their laptop also to enable
dyno run.. the car will be much louder.. Oh well can't be as loud as my TT G was..no cats ..no mufflers...
You don't need anyone with any laptop to enable dyno run. Just do this.
On a AWD Dyno link the rollers
foot on brake
put it in track and track
Hold active button 5 seconds
to get ESC off message
Hold both Aero and Manual buttons wait for message.
Done ready for Dyno

For a long time most of us were under the impression two units of this highly limited edition Roadster VERSACE were built, a dark blue, nearly black one (Blu Fontura) that was sold at auction and a bright white (Bianco Versace by the way) that has been listed for sale in Germany a few days ago ... but there is some controversy about these cars.
The official '0001' press release car
In fact the dark blue one was 'stripped' from every single bit of Versace specialty item and converted from Euro-Specs to full US-Specs as a regular LP640 Roadster ... as far as is know this car now resides in China.
The official press release '0001' car was sold as a Euro-Specs LP640 Roadster VERSACE and it is in fact that car that is now offered for sale in Germany ... but it isn't the only white VERSACE Roadster in the world ... in fact there are two others ... one in the United States that has a slightly different interior and one located in the Middle East that is almost an exact match ... it even shows '0002' on the plaque.
The US specs VERSACE Roadster:
The Dubai '0002' car:
So bottom line there are three white VERSACE Roadsters now and the blue one isn't considered to be a real one anymore.
More information and photos on all four of these cars in my article on LamboCARS.com
The one pictured at CLM Calabasas is a 2008 and belongs to a friend of mine and has had it from new and it came from NPB Lambo and is for sale.

Instead of looking at hypothetical numbers look at actual races the MP4 has beat the Aventador ever since they were all updated. The power to weight ratio favors the MP4 by about 10% so it should be no surprise.
