  1. He reads the posts ..guess he has no track day interest?

Guy from Mclaren emailed me again for input...I'm embarrased to tell him NO ONE REALLY CARES

about track days and Mclarens program!

There are really only 2 programs Drag race and track day=road race. Know matter how many people respond it will always be those 2 just tell them those 2

  2. Hope I can keep this in the general section......more views and really could be an issue with any Lambo, thanks

Looking at 2 non-LP Murci roadsters. Both spec'ed out similar and look clean. Both have clean car faxes FWIW. Both at indy dealers

    Car 1

    14k miles

    4 owners

1A as far as favorite color (tied with another color)

    Car 2

    5k miles

    1 owner

4th favorite color (still a light color, my preference)

I think car 2 will be around $7k more expensive after negotiation.

So assuming equal condition, which would be more important to you?

You say non LP Murcie so the car has to be 7 to 10 years old and has a bunch of owners so why so little miles, if it was me I would look long and hard into the miles being original. My LP640 is now 5 years old and I hardly ever use it I have four cars to chose from and I have a little over 13000 miles thats about 2600 miles a year and I put on a lot the first year when I couldn't stay away from it. Point being all the previous owners bought the car drove it a few times and parked it then sold it to the next guy who hardly ever used it and so on and so on. I find it hard to believe you get a new car you drive it until you are bored then park it in the garage. maybe 1 guy would but not 3 or 4.

  3. I emailed the gent handling the European track days in Europe and asked him if Any were plannned

    for the U.S.?

    Here is his respoonse

    "Hi Wayne

Thanks for the email, I assume you are a 12C owner in the US?

To answer your question, yes we are planning some great track events in the US. These are in the planning stages and I will be sure to communicate the details once we have finalised.

Pure McLaren is a division of McLaren GT, and our aim is to provide the ultimate McLaren Track Experiences for 12C owners across all regions. The programme is brand new for 2013 so it will take a small amount of time for it to gather momentum and reach its full potential.

If you have any questions in the meantime please let me know. I would be interested to hear what type of activity you believe would be of most interest to the US market, please let me know your thoughts - we always appreciate some input from our valued customers.

    Kind regards,

    Mark"

Therefore input the type of activity you would like to see and I'll forward them to him.

    Drag race, Road race

  4. I love the mac, and honestly the 458 has recently grown on my in a huge way. About the race though. Would the fact that the 458 has 22s on the back of it slow it down a bit? Just curious. I would think that would hurt the cars performance. Correct me if im wrong but this is Jordans 458 right? it has 21s on the front and 22s on the back. Just wondering if it would actually be a closer race if it had stocks on it or the SL wheels on it.

It is not the wheel size that matters it is the height of the tire. If you post the original tire size and the new tire size I can tell you if it matters or not. Like 305/30/20

  5. Very nice !Mp4 is a beast!

But perception means something, Sunday I took someone about 30 years old out in my LP640 then the McLaren I went into the canyon on Mulholland. The Lambo is loud and rough riding and handling, I ran around a few turns at very reasonable performance speeds trying not to kill the kid then on the straight away I hit at about 40 and ran up to 110. Then I took out the McLaren in comparison its quite smooth and much better in the turns and much faster in the straight away I did everything the same except I went about 10 miles an hour faster in the turns and went 40 up to 130 in the straight away. When I got back he told me how much faster the Lambo was in all ways. Loud, roughness and looks changes peoples perception of performance. I love both of them but they couldn't be more different. The Mclaren is a beast but the Lambo is a Bull of a beast.

  6. :iamwithstupid: 1.8 seconds would be absolutely ridiculous!

Pretty hard to do on the street my ZR 1 race car ran 0-60 in 1.2 but it also had 16in slicks and carried the front end into second gear, I just don't see that type of traction on the street. But then I never expected 288-300 mph factory cars or low 10 second 1/4 mile factory streetcars for the price you can get them for so who Knows.

  7. Is there a gloss carbon fiber wrap that would come close to looking like what the MP4's carbon fiber?

I looked at it and wasn't sure, they said it would look good if it didn't already have the Carbon airbrake but it would not match, by itself maybe. The good part is if you don't like it just take it off, also not that costly.

  8. sorry guys, nothing I could do, Aventador didn't show, we had multiple confirmations, not sure what happened....

great day out, lots of videos, ran 11.1 @ 128 in the Viper, more on that later...

It is probably not a good idea to run 10.55 and back it up with a 10.37 and expect a car thought to be faster then the McLaren to show up and be the one that changes the dynamics of performance talk all around the country if not the car world in general. I know his no show cost me money.

  9. Gloss black roof looks much better than matte in these cars IMO.

I agree the gloss is better, I have the Carbon air brake I was thinking of a black Carbon roof if it looks real and not just cheap tape.

  10. I like your carbon wing (how much was that option?), is there a gossy carbon fiber wrap that would match that?

I've seen one done where they wrapped the roof black and also did the area behind the glass hatch/under the wing, which looked great...

It was $7560 from MSO with red stitching on the seats and Mclaren written on the side of the sills. It seems pretty cheap to me. They didn't give the breakdown on the sticker. But it was less then the $7560. I want to just put gloss metallic black on the roof only not done down the back, I think it would then take away from the Carbon wing I like the contrast. I don't think the Carbon rap on the roof would look real but I never saw it but will check it out. Real carbon is on the roof of the ZR1 and the Aston Vanquish and looks good. Go into your local place take a look I will do the same. I don't think it will look good or lots more people would be rapping the Carbon look.

  11. Good, we still get together often. We did CES together as we do every year and have a great time. He dumped his LP640 on a black McLaren MP4-12C last summer and loves it. I don't think he will be another Lamborghini owner anytime soon, but one never knows. He goes through a lot of cars. He's constantly praising the interaction with the factory at McLaren; said they treat him extremely well. All the McLaren owners up here praise the factory and dealers.

    Tommy

Last we spoke I was ordering a new Vanquish after driving it I found it to be to much like my DB9 and just got a new Mclaren and not at all sorry. Changing off between my LP640 and the Mclaren is really laughable it is like having 2 great kids from a different mother.
