  1. Yeah after checking them out online, newer helicopters have a little more updated look for sure.

Jet wasn’t a consideration bc the nearest airport is an hour away. Kind of defeats the purpose...

Santa Paula Airport is less than 20 miles from Ojai. Might be an option for a fixed-wing charter.

  2. Yeah, keeping it in the family these would be my engine picks as well.

I'd be careful putting too much power in a Bronco. A short wheelbase, big tires, and a lift make for an unstable platform. I have a late model 351 Windsor, MSD distributor, headers and a 600 cfm carb. Probably putting out 200-225 HP. I can hit 85 on the freeway, even on 37-inch tires which is way too fast. Once I had Ventura 4 X 4 go through it after I purchased it, now it starts every time.

  3. I have a good one for you guys! My home is on an 33 acre property, and in the county. However, the city has surrounded me over the years. We have a 20 acre law that states I cannot be annexed if I keep more than 20 acres. This gives me the right to hunt, shoot guns, burn stuff, and more.

A few years ago, I sold some adjoining land for commercial use. It ended up becoming a private grade school.

From what I can gather, it is illegal to posses a gun within 1000' of a school. The only exception is if the adjoining property is your own property. The grey area is actually shooting a gun. I've heard opinions that it is ok. I have also heard of gun clubs that have indoor ranges being ok, as long as the member unloads and locks the gun in a case between the door and the car.

However, my attorney said that people have been arrested for defending their life in their own home when the home is in a Gun Free Zone.

My view is that state law will have no problem with a property owner shooting legally, yet the federal law that established the gun free zone may be different. One of the big questions is what school is federally recognized as a school?

Kind of an interesting question. Any thoughts?

I do have areas of property that are 1000'+ away, but I would be required at that point to be shooting the opposite direction (towards the neighbors). Also, it is not clear if the 1000' is from the buildings, or the edge of the property.

I'd bet my life the delineating line is the property boundary and not the buildings on the 1000 feet limit. Kids tend to wander and play outside. You'd rather be shooting in the direction of the school than your neighbours. Both sound like awful options with bad outcomes for you.

  4. It's a very fast time indeed, super impressive given the weight of the Aventador platform in general. I'd keep in mind though that the "Holy Trinity" as they are called are on tires from a long time ago, relatively speaking. ThethetheFerrari used PZero Corsas, P1 used Corsas (occasionally off-the-shelf Trofeos), and the 918 used the rather old Michelin Cup 2 tires.

I'd be shocked if all 3 of these cars weren't still a the top of the food chain if you gave them the latest tires. Heck, the Maserati MC12 did 7:24s back in 2008 when they gave it more modern tires. That thing could very well be under 7 minutes with modern tires.

Also, Lamborghini is making a multi-million dollar hybrid as we speak and that Porsche 919 definitely benefits from the electrical power. I think the hybrid stuff was maybe a little ahead of its time, but I think it's still the best at the moment.

But whatever the case, today is a fantastic time to be a Lamborghini fan. They've never been better!

New tires would obviously help, are you sure all of the holy trinity could do a lap of the Nurburgring without running out of battery power? 918 can, not sold on the other 2. The 919 is a full-on modified race car that it is not race (anymore) or road legal.

  5. I can see it being totally feasible. Remember, the McLaren F1 did 241 mph with 618 hp and only 479 ft/lbs torque...The original LP700 can do 230+ (confirmed to me by 2 separate race drivers at Lamborghini, one dealer contact and one factory contact) and with the S having more power, revised driving dynamics and aero, I could see it getting to 240. I tracked S and the car got to 160 mph without breaking a sweat, unlike other car's I've driven that start to lose their balls around 150. The Aventador S has 730 hp and 510 ft/lb torque, so while it has more weight, it has 100 hp more, 40 more torque, and 25 years of driving dynamics.

I doubt it. Nardo was in much better condition when they set the record with the F1. It's really bumpy these days. F1 probably weighs more than a 1,000 pounds less wet. Don't they limit Aventador's top speed to 217 mph because of the tires? Why would they run a gear that could take the Aventador to 248 mph? I've also seen documented info on 230 mph, but 248 mph it's a stretch.

Either way, to finish a long production run and post that time, it's really impressive. Shows you what a rabbit hole all the hypercar hybrid car malarkey was.

  6. Yup, everything from the 560 on is a completely different motor. Different crank degree for uneven firing, direct injection, etc. The two sound unmistakably different.

Put a 06 or later Gallardo next to an LP and you can see cost cutting everywhere.

  7. Noble seemed better for me given:

    - I could still street-drive and enjoy

    - Its more forgiving to drive

    - It was more reasonable stepping stone between track car and downforce car

    Thanks -

    - Chris

Fun car, just don't crash it.....coke can. Looks like, you have done the standard upgrades.

  8. If you want it to sell and not be on the market for months then retail list it for $178k or OBO. The car with that miles is not going to get over $180k unfortunately. You can ask whatever you want...ask for $200k...but I assure you it will not sell for close to that. You have to look at what the cars SELL FOR not what people are asking for them on eBay, etc.

:iamwithstupid: on the selling price. It's not yellow, orange, green or black. That's what the market wants.

    I wouldn't consign with CATS/FOS.

  9.

Pricing is ridiculous. I preferred Singers when they were more understated. Williams is hardly an engineering brand I would want to hitch my wagon to based on their decades long malaise in F1. Interior sans rev counter is pretty bitching though. Sycophant presenter justifying the price by stating Singer is making the most "historically accurate" 911 LOL.

  10. Side profile view, the wheels look too large, that side vent is weird. Not a fan of the 2 tone looks on this one. Aston's still remind me of Russian egg dolls regardless of what their PR is spouting.

All the infotainment is Mercedes so I'm sure it will be good. I think the last gen car is prettier.

  11. No crashed pics come up on google with the VIN. That's probably a good sign.

What does the carfax say is the reason for the Salvaged title?

$150k for a salvaged title seems pricey. Insurance companies aren't totaling Murcis for minor fender benders. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I'm sure Abolfaz has the back story.

  12. I actually really wanted one as well but this concerned me a lot since we live in LA. That and I don't think a standard garage door even works for parking this thing inside so I'd be really interested to hear how most people store them.

I would think getting in and out after a while would be a real pain in the ass even with a step, especially in the rear seats.

  13. I dunno...they are blending to me in looks and it’s hard to keep up with how quickly they come up with new models every year. How do they do that? New company, faster than Lambo and Ferrari...

Cutting corners on reliability testing, that's how.
