  1. My 2 cents worth …..

I've noticed a lot of dealers in California are now selling the Elise at MSRP vs the up to $10K over sticker a short while back. Looks to me like the initial rush to buy these cars is slowing, with many of the early ones now back on the used market causing prices to drop.

Add to this Lotus has done an abysmal job of customer support in the past year – result of a major management shake up displacing the true enthusiasts from the company including ex CEO Arnie Johnson. Arnie was a guy you could call up and talk to about Lotus stuff pretty much anytime. He was accessible to owners and had a genuine interest in the cars, and what impressed me was his uncanny ability to remember your name over a year after you spoke to him!

I think the fickle people/posers in California are finding the Elise harder to live with than they anticipated. I met one guy recently who was selling to go back to a Boxster - his reason was the Elise ride was "too harsh" and the stick shift was a pain in traffic!

Okay, I think I've got a little of track on the topic, but overall it's a total blast to drive; prices are coming down and if you can live with its "spartan" style then go for it – it’s a blast to drive and once you get into some twisty roads you'll see what everyone is raving about

    :P

  2. Im pretty sure he wasnt trying to race you. Probably he wasnt trying to race you in the first place.

Ya, he wasnt trying to race me Fucktera. We pulled over afterwards, talked about the race, told eachother our ET's, etc for shits and lies right?

Go crawl up in a ball and kill yourself, will ya??

Oh No! Looks like the mothership left another one behind!

  3. I can't say much about that because i don't know who that is.  All i can tell you is what I have experienced myself.  Like I said, I would love a change to drive a V8 Lotus.  Maybe one day.  In the mean time, I will stick with my mid-engined car.  Should be getting here any day.

NetViper - If you ever find yourself in the L.A. area I'd be more than happy to offer that ride :P

    In the corolla?

Nahh, its actually a brown Yugo with four bald tires and an orange door

  5. There was a lotus esprit at the track the other day.  It was not fast AT ALL.  You are crazy if you think a Lotus is faster on a track.  Hell, they are not that much faster in a straight line.  Comparing a 2003 Lotus to your 91 NSX is pretty lame, allan.

I have driven a 89 Lotus esprit SE and it was a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT.

I would take a NSX over a Lotus ANY DAY.

Whats the colour of the sky in your world rice-boy? :finga:

  6. Allan, Check out the race red ECU (http://extremeesprit.com/Perf__Mods/Racing_ECU/racing_ecu.html) direct from Lotus (not the hi torque), its 450HP out of box and a direct swap. They make you sign a waiver saying something to the effect that if you blow the cylinder heads off its tough shit as we told you so! Still, its an easy 100hp for 20 minutes work (also handy if you know a double-jointed midget to get the thing in and out) :) If you're interested, try Harry Appleby at Viking motorsports, he's one of the primo Esprit guys in the country 714 979-1020

Another good site for for ECU's, flowed turbos, BOV's, intercoolers tranny coolers etc http://extremeesprit.com/Perf__Mods/perf__mo tds.
