  1. Here is an update

the part i ordered was not a direct replacement

so i disassembled the old one and found there are rebuild kits available

    (Mercedes)

i located these by searching the web for "mono-valve repair kit"

there are many to select from so i took a stab and selected one for a 1991 model 300 Mercedes

although i have come to learn they are all the same (85-93) all

so here are some pics and a part # for those who can benefit

i did note the diaphragm on the old part was swollen and kind of mislead me at first (the new one looks too small) but it seats perfectly in the valve housing

Yea good ( pics of Lamborghini parts), what about the REST of the car, I still love it

who knows the history? it could be a great story of saving it in the middle of nowwhere

dont be so quick to cut it down

  4. Dear Lamborghinisti,

You have OBD I Just buy the small plug for about $25.00 Plug it in to your computer (behind the seats ) and erase the code. No need to pay a tech to do it for you.

Be warned, there is a way to just jump a few pins and mimic the tool. BUT....if you jump the wrong pin, you WILL fry your computer....not worth the risk for a $25.00 part.

Yes, I checked with check with our franchised dealer sponsors.com. And the round plug is no longer available. Anyone know where I could get one? Jason at check with our franchised dealer sponsors.com said "in order to reset the LIE computer you need to short together pins 7,9,13."

  5. Home made chain tensioners?! Where did this car come from?

    --------------------

AbolFaz I dont know I thought you were the expert (Italy i think :)

They were a little rough but functional

I will post a picture of them this weekend

Abol do you want to help me find out the history of this animal?

  6. I have been having an issue with check engine left and check engine right lights coming on and staying on

initially after checking with the "turn key 5 times" this was identified as o2 sensors

I have had had the computer cleared several times

I lived with this (lights on) as the mechanic with the tool to clear is a couple of hours away

recently I had the timing chain tensioners replaced (interesting as there were homemade mechanical units) with Lamborghini parts

The engine was set up again (timing, etc)

I ran the car for a 100mi or so (on way home) and

the lights come on , i think the like me

any way the code now is a lean engine condition

We are thinking now to install a new fuel regulator as others have in recent posts (a single with dual outputs as opposed to the twin setup in recent post)

The car is running great, temperature is fine

I am hoping the lean condition is a moment in time thing that the computer picked up and flagged

can someone post the codes to identify conditions

    and

    any

    input

    appreciated

  7. In the Chain Tensioner Thread

Early cat and Ejner mention they replaced the driveshafts

    with later model types

    what else is involved?

My experience is the 91 hubs on the transmission side are 4 bolt with two special spirol roll pins

difficult to get, ( shipped from Luigi's tool box in Italy) ,do the upgrade shafts /hubs ?

  8. more info PLEASE on the drive shafts one of mine Fell off at the trans coupling side fortunately at a very slow speed , I was able to replace the roll pins( difficult to get ) and install new bolts

my Diablo has about 20,000 km whats the deal on these tensioners? I had the valves set

    Shes been running great

  9. so a thermostat is the clicking sound hmm have to find that

    thanks to 13mm and

    Mike

    to be continued

    Oh yea here is something

I had two Dimples on my roof repaired when I had the air dam fixed

any body know if these were common they looked like they were there from the beginning

    the roof is perfect now

  10. Thought I would pose some issues I have with my car

    just idiosyncrasies

1.) a clicking sound from down at the passenger side floor area , doesn't seem to be speed related and increases during cold weather

2.) seat belt retractor does not always slide into rear position (suspect door switch)

3.) check engine lights r and left on, have had this reset a couple of times, someone told me this due to oxygen sensors and narrow parameters in the program

4.) I noticed on a steering wheel for sale there was a wire from the center , like the horn was operable by pushing the center of wheel, mine operates by pushing turn signal toggle

5.) door rubber seal trashed even after new install

6.) windshield wiper auto return to position doesn't always work have to time the shutoff manually

thats enough I dont want to piss her off
