  1. yes i too was hooked by cannonball run, specifically the helicopter shot of the countach pulling sway, then the shots of the girls getting in and out then i was at the phila auto show in 91 and saw the Diablo, it was black and i had the passing thought id never attain that , but dreamed. And continued to dream and now own a 91 2wd . so when the young kids come up excited and the parents say negative dream busting statements to them i say never let anyone tell you what you can achieve hold on to your dreams i like the headlight covers
  2. Its for a 91 will get picture soon
  3. i had to replace the head gaskets on my 91 D it was leaking oil from the forward drivers side head outboard side the oil galleries are close to the edge of the block/head. i not sure about the coolant passages perhaps someone can post a picture of a block with heads off sure its in the interest of the seller to say "it could heal itself" my experience with machines is no
  4. who is doing carbon fiber parts for interior parts? My "ashtray" frame needs replaced , i would need to have another to have the mold made from as a section is missing will post pic when i get back to homebase
  5. so if the exhaust exits below and ahead of the wing will it enhance the downforce , due to heated airmass being lower pressure similar to F1 when they exhausted ahead of rear tires
  6. whats going on with the drivers side turbo? it does not look symmetrical to the passenger side
  7. "and I know there are no other Diablos driven like mine" i like this attitude, is it irish?
  8. video was well done, i really like the shape at the door / mirror similar to Diablo turning it over to the boss without worry is a positive
  9. in the future heat just the bolt (concentrate the heat on the bolt until red) wait for it to cool then wrench the nut section off the act of heating the bolt will expand the nut, freeing the unit
  10. Chip yea it was the "socket board" that the relays plug into the female metal sockets in that board were failing on mine ( not really corroding ) but loosening up and etching as a result this in turn caused issues with radiator fans i too started with a head gasket and it went from there you have to be a contortionist to work on that bow when the engine is in and i tried so when the engine came out i addressed it have fun
  11. i may have had this issue, its mainly been in on the fronts , especially since iv had the big brembos i made a point to get tires "load balanced" and this was out of area until recently my last set had done at Audi/Porsche dealer i would think they were well trained will mark tire to be sure if they are moving will do the sand and sticky what grade sanding are we talking ?
  12. Chip did you inspect your relay box yet? I posted some time ago and noticed there wasn't a clear reply just sayin from my experience you should i also replaced one of my lift struts with a murci unit , bought two but the drivers unit had failed completely, the passenger side still works but does not "auto lift" i think my girl would be un able to pull the murci unit down , but i will cross that bridge when i come to it BTW great thread
  13. Wait, what yr is the black Countach ? not listed on your inventory o
  14. if you a detailing the engine compartment, servicing the relay box on the drivers side will me much easier now, the female socket board should be closely inspected
