  1. Stretched the GT's legs this afternoon. What do I see darting through traffic and coming up behind me pretty quickly? Black Gallardo. But wait....not just any G. It finally came along side and lo and behold it was a new Superleggera LP570-4. Holy badass, Batman. We ran close together for a few miles before he continued on north and I had to break off eastbound. Couldn't see the driver through the tinted glass, but when he came up along my driver's side, the passenger gave me the thumbs up. This was today (10/29/13) around 3:30PM heading north on the CA-99 toward Fresno. Car had BMC dealer plates. If anyone knows this owner, please have him contact me ASAP!
  2. Um. Not really. At least most don't. A few minor growing pain problems with the very early production vehicles, nothing earthshaking or catastrophic. But a bonus is that only early 05's got the coveted billet A-arms as part of the Ford recall. The caliper option discrepancy is odd though. Did he paint them black to match his standard (nonoption) wheels?? And as a self-proclaimed FGT fanboi, even I think it's overpriced. Low mileage Heritage could bring that kind of $$. Would be unprecedented for a 'regular' color with only 2 options.
  3. That's certainly a different story. Unfortunately, I bought mine about 8 months ago, right in the middle of the most recent price hike. I'm not wealthy enough to DD a car that expensive. If I was able to afford one 3-4 years ago, that may have been possible.
  4. By SVT, I assume you are referring to the Ford Racing muffler. II test drove a car with that setup and it's barely louder than stock. Good for a little 'oomph', but I wouldn't have been happy with that. I did tinker with the idea of long tubes into the FRPP muffler, but even that may have been too tame. So, I went full 'retard' and just got these:) Mind you, I'm not an 16 year old boy racer. I'm a 41 yo professional with a wife and 2 kids......hmmmm....probably why I need to act like an 18 y.o......
  5. And I would ask you, good sir, why would you NOT want something that loud? Honestly, it just fits the character of the car. Loud Civics and 4 door sedans are stupid. This is a muscular American two door V8. The stock can was fit for a soccer mom car. Best part is it's loud when you want it to be. Peddling along under 2500-3000 rpms and it's fairly tame, almost stock-like. Anything above that and it's game on
  6. Both of our cars have exhaust mods, but that's about it. He got me by about a car length on our second run, both of us trapping in the mid 140's.
  7. Not an SL, but I ran this Gallardo twice today at Airstrip Attack 4 in Coalinga, CA. Have some video footage to sort through. As an interesting aside, Dallas Racing and Underground put down some SERIOUS 1/2 mile numbers in their Gallardos today.
  8. My use of the word 'awesome-er' should have clued you in on that;)
  9. It's just as awesome as he says. Perhaps even more awesome-er than that.
  10. Thanks. And yeah, I probably should post these there from now on.
  11. More header music (I realize this is a Lambo forum, so if people want me to stop posting this stuff, just let me know).
  12. Thanks! It's the Ford Racing rear exit headers (M-9430 GTX). Long tube headers into small collector mufflers (not sure they do any real 'muffling'), and straight out the back. Removes the stock headers, cats and enormous muffler for an overall weight savings of about 70 lbs from the rear of the car. Also opens up the rear vents previously blocked by the huge, heat generating muffler resulting in noticeably lower engine temps. Most importantly, it sounds like this from the outside. (not my car, but same system).
  13. New headers installed. Now it sounds proper. And an FU to the tree huggers.
  14. And just because no one likes a thread without some occasional visual stimulation.....taken over the weekend in northern Fresno.
  15. Finally! Someone that knows my pain! lol Yup, just take the misery of Fresno and crank it up 50 notches and you have Visalia. Lucky man you get to leave. Feel like I'm descending to the 9th circle of hell every day I'm here. It's awesome!
  16. I probably wouldn't want to go off roading in that pile of rocks with my very pricey Lamborghini either. Also guarantees no one will park next to him.
  17. Update. Met someone at a local car meet that happens to know the owner of the ^^black Gallardo I saw a few weeks back. Hopefully will get to meet him and his car in the near future. Exciting, I know. But I have little to be excited for in this godforsaken town:)
  18. Found new talent in the area. Took these pics in the parking lot of the local country club....double parked. Looks brand-spanking new. Either hasn't even washed it yet or was just polished. Couldn't see a single swirl mark in the bright sunlight. Plate registration only a month old. So, now there are at least 2 Gallardos in this small podunk town. Where are the owners???
  19. Yikes. I keep holding out hoping Michelin will come out with proper sized Super Sports, but I guess it's not likely going to happen. B-stones it is then. As far as a pulley tune, I really don't have any desire to mod the car from a power standpoint. I've had my experience with modded cars and I'm done. Now that being said, I do want to put on some form of catless exhaust (long tubes+x-pipe or if I get the cajones, the Ford Racing rear exit headers). That'll leave me with a pesky CEL. Trying to keep the car most/all Ford Racing but their tune doesnt shut off the O2 sensors. Unless my guy can figure out a workaround, I would have to get an aftermarket tune. Aside from Hefner, Torrie seems to be the go to guy in the GT aftermarket. And if I get a tune, may as well slap on the pulley, right?
  20. Oh and yes, I intend to swap out the now 8 year old tires with the Bridgestone RE050's that other owners seem to love. Why can't Michelin make the proper sizes for this car??? Grrrrr......
  21. Indeed. I don't ever plan to sell it. Hopefully will go to my son when I'm too old to enjoy it:) Thanks. But if it was only a few months ago, must be different car. I saw this one for the first time about a year ago.
  22. Agreed! Still love me some 911's. Hope to pick up a 997 GT3RS in the future, but this thing just rocks! Nothing like the absence of traction and stability control to scare the living daylights outta you:)
  23. Ha. You said it. Different animal altogether.
