I appreciate that aspect.
Maybe I break it down a little more
None carbon car has 1200 more miles (4900 total) Just serviced,-two new tires-steering rack leak fixed, corner balanced and I have all the specs on clutch life-brakes etc. Clean car
Car with Carbon Brakes. 3K total miles- collector owned-89% clutch-brakes at 9 mm (I hear you never really need to replace carbon brakes?) Needs Tires!!- there original and cracking-oil changed but not serviced in in 14 months
both cars are clean and fresh- Both sales assoc have been transparent with info and reputable IMO.
4-6K separates them in price.
Any advice on which one to buy?.....making purchase in two days
For the lower mileage and better options the ccb car is a no-brainer. The mileage is more important on a non LP car due to the differences in the clutch. I also like that you said it was a collector car. Probably driven easier than the other one. Check the egear snap for confirmation. Good luck and enjoy. The 08 SL is a really raw sports car experience! :-)

All true but I would say that it is a nice car in person - absolutely stunning with all of the right options. Car just needs to be priced appropriately to reflect the history.
I would agree. Esperienza cars are not used for a few hot laps. So this car has a lot of track time on it. Since it departed Atlanta it has gotten a couple more thousand miles on it. LP Gallardo are really pretty bullet proof. Check the egear snap to see what's happened to it and get it discounted appropriately. Atlanta sold it in the low $180's. I probably wouldn't go more than low $170's.

I would bet the egear snap will show its been driven easily. The Carfax looks clean, probably image drivers. None of the owners look like leases. If I were in the market for an 08 SL I would check it out.

he found out when he was trading in the gallardo for a mclaren..... deal was already done, so I guess he lucked out....
That sucks. You would hope that sort of thing would turn up on Carfax.

Assman pretty much hit the nail on the head. Buying a Gallardo as an investment is probably not the best choice tho. Invest in something else, then buy the Lambo as a toy
Buy what you like and figure it's going to go down in value. If you can't afford the depreciation don't buy the car. The SL or STS are the most unique Gallardo models and probably will depreciate less than other models.

...and that was my fault. By full I meant total, not wet. Should have said dry. I realized it after posting, but the hour edit limit had already passed. The back and forth was entertaining though.
My understanding is car weights are always dry weights. Otherwise comparison would be difficult. One car has 7 quarts of oil, another 10; One has 30 gallon gas tank another 20. Gas is 7 pounds a gallon. Our wives tell us their weight and you know that's naked (even though we never see them that way!), and nothing to eat for a week! It's all part of marketing and it's OK.

PSS vs normal PZeros
I never had PZero Corsas on any of my Bulls since those never came with the original OEM set up for my Bulls.
I visited the Michelin's website to learn more about the PSS, quite informative. I was just skeptical when this Lambo dealer informed me that they had recently replaced all four new tires with PSS on this G I wanted instead of the original PZeros? The salesman stated that PSS are better and they don't wear as fast as PZeros. I'm now glad to learn these PSS are indeed better than the original PZeros!
The SL came standard with Corsas. My SL has them, they are very sticky. I don't have a problem with them. I had Michelin PS2 on my Carrera mileage is great, handling not as much. They are just a harder rubber. I also put PS Cups on my Carrera. A very fun tire, but again the mileage just isn't there. PS2 went 15,000 including some track time, Cups about 5,000 no track time. Corsas are a 5,000 mile tire. I'm back to PS2 on my Carrera now.

Great car!! You have to share your feedback on this car in comparison to your wife's LP700 Roadster.
I had the LP700 Roadster and now I have the LP Superleggera! I like how my LP570 drives so much more! Gotta share your thoughts to see if you feel the same?
Also how awesome that you got your SL from STL! Brian is my man! I've bought my LP700 Roadster, LP560, and now my LP750! Love those guys there!
I've seen your car in person! Great car!
Thanks Andy! I fell in love with the SL at an Esperienza. It's a drivers car and a totally different experience to the Murcie or Aventador. EYEDOC loves the beautiful flagship. The Murcie and Aventador are perfect for her. Nothing else comes close for cool design and presence. We look forward to driving the two and giving everyone our impressions.

The SL is a drivers car. The short wheelbase with balance and power is an unbelievable combination.

Watch out Eyedoc! DR4EYES is on the road! Thanks to BrIan and Lambo St Louis for making it happen so seamlessly. First rate people to work with.

I apologize. 2.8 mm of wear represents almost half wear on the clutch. Remaining life is roughly 55%. Also the car has been shifted 48,300 times.
-
I'm not an expert. Even someone that understands this would need a manual to interpret the whole thing. The important points to me would be: The car has 87% clutch life left. The odometer reading should be about 9,300 miles. The car has been launched twice. Most driving has been done in manual mode.

Can't say for certain, but this BC SL was at the '12 Fontana track day event. Most likely the same car as I haven't see too many of these roaming the streets. Even my girlfriend took it out for a spin.
Can anyone provide any additional ifor the most acuratw representation nsight on a car being a corporate Esperienza car? Was the salesman upfront about this or are we just jumping to this conclusion? Just curious because I would definitely not want to buy a car that went through a circuit of these events, people beat the shit out of these cars.
PS: You are to be commended for the most accurate representation of Blu Caelum I have seen. The color doesn't photograph well.
-
The CARFAX on this car shows 1 personal owner - wouldn't it show corporate ownership if it was a demo car? I'm not contesting what you or anyone else is saying, hell, I'm not even interested in this particular car, but just trying to become a more educated buyer.
Lamborghini doesn't show up as an owner because they never bought the car and had it titled to them...they already owned it! You will notice 5,000 miles were put on the car before it was sold to the "first" owner. July 24, 2012 the car cleared customs San Diego, July 19, 2013 the car had the a/c checked in San Francisco mileage was 3,969, January 2, 2014 the vehicle was sold to tge first owner with 5,364 miles. You will notice prior to 1/2/14 no title had been issued. Looking at this would cause you to ask what, was going on with the car the first year and a half and 5,000 miles. Also notice mileage now listed as 10,639. Another question: that's a lot of miles in the last 6 months while the car has been for sale.

Having dealt with several sales people in searching for one of these cars, I would say this: You need to ask the right questions. If you ask the right questions, you will get answers that are accurate, but perhaps a bit of spin. You are always going to want to look at the car fax and window sticker and my experience is they will be forthcoming with these. The only person that really provided transparency was Jeremy Hagen at Newport. Jeremy told me about all the details without the detective work.

Having driven at esperienza, I can tell you those cars are beaten like crazy. We blew up a few cars on our day alone.
Very true. We were at Fontana in 2013 and a grey STS overheated and had to be shut down. Also a white 550 went permenantly out of the action.

i was SOOO wanting to pull the trigger on this car. mainly cause my first lambo was a 2005 gallardo in blu caelum. i thought this caelum superleggera would have been perfect. wow... i didn't realize this was a corporate car.
Check out the window sticker. The name and address in the upper right hand corner shows who it was sold to. It should be a dealer. If it says "Automobili Lamborghini...Auburn Hills Michigan", it's a corporate, show, press, etc. car. Unfortunately, I think you need to assume they all have been to an Esperienza.

Hello Guys,
Looking at a 2008 Super G with only 2600 miles. Beautiful car.
I was hoping to get some opinions about this model year and what to look for.
I believe the 2009 Gallardos and up have the revised E Gear. Not sure though.
anything to consider with such low mileage? Car is an one owner.
Thanks guys,
Check the egear snap to be sure the mileage on the egear (km) is close to the odometer reading.

With the old battery, I would always replace that first. The voltage is going to be low and that can cause all manner of ills. Over the years I have seen lots of problems crop up in the months before a battery goes out only for everything to work fine once it is replaced.

Looking to broker a deal for hubby on a 2013 Superleggera. It's priced ridiculously high and they're not willing to move on the price.
EYE DOC always negotiates our car and house deals. She's incredible. If I wanted to pay more I would negotiate myself!
-
I'd rather buy a car with miles on it. That way bad parts have had a chance to break and get replaced while the car was under warranty.
How many miles per year, in your opinion?
-
They're asking $209k for that orange SL btw
For what it's worth, to me this sounds outrageously over priced. The dealer said it was owned by a collector.

You guys are all too young to remember this, but it reminds me of Chrysler in the 70's disconnecting the odometer so the dealer folks could run errands. This sounds like big liability to me. Any attorneys care to weigh in on the legal issues?
