  1. How do I know if my 2020 car has a GPF Filter?

When I put it in corsa mode, the valves are not open yet. The car just idles louder because the RPM's are raised.

Only when I go above 4500 rpms is when the valves truly open.

Yep looks like its a motorised valve so start position is computer controlled I guess

yeah thats what it looked like when the installer was taking off the stock exhaust. Thanks for posting that.

Most valves run off of vacuum, so they are open when the engine is off and don't close until the intake builds a certain amount of vacuum pressure.

On the Urus, the sound difference between open/closed valves is very noticeable outside.

On the Urus, I believe the valves are actually electronically controlled.

  4. Does going through the modes (strada/sport/corsa) actually make the exhaust louder?

I noticed when I start the car during cold start and I switch through the mode, the only thing that gets louder is the cabin with the synthetic sound.

Outside the car the sound stays the same during the cold start?

  5. I believe 100% that you believe that the power is noticeable however you just gave $3-4k to someone to tell you that your car gained 40hp without verifying ? Not sure if you know but Lambo tune is no longer available because a few people here did it and actually dyno'd their car before and after and all of them gained about 5-8hp on the top end but lost power down low. And all of them swore that they felt a difference. Tuners have ways to adjust how fast power comes on, and how sensitive the accelerator is and may give you that false sensation but I would never believe any power rating unless it was proven to me.

Just think about it, if the factory couldn't back up their claim how are you going to believe a 3rd party?

Also, a few magazines tested the SV against the standard A and they showed the standard A was just as fast and even a tick faster in some tests. The big wing on the SV limits its straight line performance. Just getting a catless exhaust doesnt add 50hp.

You make a valid point about tunes for N/A cars. All the other N/A cars I've owned and have done tunes on, i haven't felt much of a difference. For this car its honestly night and day. When I drove the Aventador S I noticed the S has a much torquier powerband. My car with the tune feels the same as the S. Dyno's actually don't mean anything. The real test would be the vBox runs. I haven't had a chance to vBox my car after the tune, but once I do i will report back.

  6. I don't have before and after dyno's. I can assure you the power is very noticeable.

The factory was very conservative with the car from the start so they have room for improvement in the later models. LP700 to Centenario 770HP is all tuning.

Prior to the tune, I was just running power craft exhaust with no cats. I raced my friend in his Aventador SV multiple times and we were DEAD even. SV is supposed to have 50 more HP and lighter. I am assuming the exhaust made up for that 50hp. I will re-race him with my tune and see if the outcome is any different.

  7. Just had VF Engineering tune my LP700 Coupe and WOW! Prior to getting the tune I was considering getting an Aventador S. I had a chance to drive the Aventador S on Thermal and was taken away by how much better it was than the regular car. Throttle input and power in the lower rev range is much better.

After getting the VF Engineering tune I can say that I have no desire to get an Aventador S. The Tune transforms the car. Power is increased by 40 wheel HP and 40 more torque and I can tell you it's very noticeable. Power throughout is the entire rev range is much sharper.

This is by far the best upgrade I've done and worth every penny. It'll feel like a whole new car again!

  8. anyone driven both ? having a HP and figure it's time to add something i never had before, a V12 ! plan is to either find a 13' av as an addition, or say goodbye to my HP to replace with the av s. knowing both are the same ISR, do they drive very differently ?

I currently have a 13 Aventador and have driven the S extensively.

The S is a huge improvement. Shifts are much faster and smoother. The handling is a lot better because of the rear wheel steering.

Power along with powerband is also improved.

I am contemplating if I want to get the S but my dealer has already promised me a spot for the S Performante (New SV replacement) when thats comes out.

  9. Forgive this comment. But are you sure the battery tender is working / hooked up correctly.

On my Lamborghini tender, if I plug into the car before the outlet it simply seems to test the battery. Doesn't actually charge the car.

    Just my 0.02

    Mike

How can I tell if its working correctly? On my Mclaren I just plug in the AC Adapter and leave it.

  10. Also I've heard that if the super capacitor is dead even with a good battery the engine will start but you cannot put it in gear...

I have no idea what the super capacitor is.

I have an appointment with my dealer in a week.

Last week I took the car out and I was able to drive it. Started up fine and drove fine with no check engine lights.

After I shut it off for an hour, it did the same thing again. Starts up and immediately dies. I tried a few times and eventually got it stay idling and drove home.

  11. I am hoping someone on LP can help me. I am trying to figure out if installed cat bypass pipes need to be totally removed to access the secondary o2 sensors on an SV-R (in order to put o2 extenders in place)? It seems like a TON of work just to access sensors that may occasionally need to be addressed by the dealer. Or can you get to them with from the top of the engine without removing the wing, bumper, etc.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Pretty sure you need to remove everything to get access to the testpipes/cats. Also I would not recommend the extenders. They don't do anything. I've tried them on my Porsche Turbo, Gallardo, 458, 488 and it doesn't work. Aventadors don't throw a cel with test pipes anyways. If it does, you are better off getting a tune.

  12. Took my car out for a drive after 2 weeks of being on a battery tender. Drove normal with no problems. Parked it for about an hour and when I tried starting it, it started up and died right away. I thought it was a glitch and started it again. The second time the car started right up and I was able to drive home. The car drove normal and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Once I pulled it into the garage and shut it off, I tried starting it again to see if there were any problems. This time it just keeps dying and will not hold an idle.

Anyone else ever encounter this problem before?

  13. I tried this on my own . Passenger side was decently easy but drivers side I couldn't get one screw out and ended up having to take it to the dealer . It's just very very tight on the drivers side and a lot has to come out to get the lid off the box.

Paying 1hr labour while you wait is easier lol.

    Haha sounds good! Thanks!
