  1. Hey Jeff,

I have a 08 SL and I was wondering the same as well. On my 08 M5 SMG, the clutch instantly goes on at less then 1k rpms. With my SL the clutch takes it time up to around 1800rpms or so and takes off very slow out of the stop. I dropped it off at Lamborghini Service today to have the techs take a look at it. They said they can adjust how the clutches engages. I will get back to you once I hear back from them, but I think this is normal..

  2. Just several times I noticed that when I was getting off the highway, that when I downshifted my SL did not blip the throttle like it normally does. Just feels like it just let the clutch out without blipping causing a jerk in the deceleration. Is there something wrong with the car, happened several times.. Thanks

  3. Yes, definitely a new car for me. Had it for 3 weeks, never really noticed a jerky shift until recently, but I will take the car out today and really monitor my driving. The transmission does make a clunk at low rpm shifts, but I've been told by the service tech that was normal.

For starters it sound like it is a new car for John so prob low miles or had a service before he got it. His join date is very new.Without more info hard to sat but my guess is normal or has not learned how do drive the e-gear yet. Thats why I offered some driving tips first. It only dose it half the time so it could be some times he lifts on the gas a shift point it will be soft he dose not lift it will be firm.

  4. Yesterday I took my SL out for a spin, and I started to noticed that the shifts around 3k rpms were jerky around town. Regular mode and sport mode. Sometimes it will be perfectly smooth and other times the car bucks a bit. I took her on the highway for a high speed run and everything worked fine there!! Just around town it was a bit jerky, this happens 50/50. Is there something wrong with my car or do I just need to drive it faster??

  5. Pokie,

Where do you live? Here in Ca there's a pretty good amount of Lambo dealers.

I don't see why they don't have Superleggera as a limited edition product while they consider Nera as one. Either way, I just don't see how any of them can escape the depreciation. Another observation, why are they making more LP 670-4 SV (350) than the Gallardo SE (250) as well as Nera (185) especially given the economy condition? I really don't understand the marketing behind Lamborghini sometimes and I really hope they focus more in dealer network development (more dealerships so we can service our car easier).

  6. Haha yeah man. What's up with that? A little metal plate behind the driver seat is at most 2oz! Would be nice to have a number plate though..

Is there any reason why Superleggera doesn't have those limited production number plate mounted in the car? The only reason I can think of is to save weight (hehehe). I think we (Superleggera Owners) should write to the factory to demand those plate and install them as a recall item (just kidding). I have seen those limited production number plate on SE (special edition), Nera and the newest SV.

  7. Perfect! Thanks Randy! I will give it a shot tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can clear the check engine light and make it work! Do you feel a loss in low end torque after doing this mod though??

I am located in Northern California near San Francisco. If you are ever up this way, let me know! Also if like loud, check out my M5! It has full exhaust, you can hear this thing from 3 miles away ( I am not joking)

  8. Now you finally reply!! I pulled the tube in the top area by the connector, I wonder if I pull the tube from the bottom if it makes a difference. I hope so, the exhaust does sound a million times better. I am sick of driving a V10 Prius. Hahaha

    I didn't do it!! :icon_butt:

That's very odd that you tripped a CEL! I have the exact same car (an SL to boot!) as you, down to the color. Which vacuum tube did you disconnect? You mentioned that you disconnected the tube from the electrical connector - if this is the connector at the top area, then this is most likely why it tripped a CEL! AFAIK, 2004-2006's were able to completely disconnect the electrical plug without throwing a CEL, but the 2007+ G's threw a CEL if it was messed with according to everyone on the forums. So, the correct tube to disconnect in the newer 2007+ G's (not sure about the LP560 models) is the tube running down to the metal "T" line, down by the license plate. It's a bit down behind the bumper (maybe around 3 inches?) so you'll have to look down in there a bit and reach in to get it. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the clip off.. Again, it is not near the electrical connector at the top. So, the top area near the electrical plug is not touched at all, only the tube at the bottom (not at the top) is touched. I simply disconnected this and capped off both lines without any CEL's in the past 1,500 miles. I've had it up to 190 MPH on 3 runs down a runway without a single issue, too. I've posted this several times on this board and another Lamborghini board and several guys with new G's (2007 and 2008's) have disconnected it and posted that they have had no problems.

Here's a little image I whipped up for visual clarification - original base image credit goes to doltmo:

Clear that CEL and try it again - don't give up! And don't be a blamer! :thefinger: :P

Hope this helps and anyone else who stumbles upon this post in the next few years,

  9. So I listened to Randy (Randysway) and disconnected the exhaust line in my SL. I pulled the top of the black tube off the plastic electrical connector. I then put a small cork in the plastic tube and taped the connector nipple with duck tape. Started the car up and instantly sounded a million times better. Went for a quick cruise around town and 9 miles later, check engine light comes on flashing 1-5 6-10.

Did I do the procedure wrong?

Was I suppose to disconnect somewhere else?

How do I reset the check engine light?

    Thanks

  10. Sold my Vanquish, and am getting back into a Gallardo. Please let me know if you come across any, especially yellow or orange. Thanks!

Try Auto Exchange in Danville, Ca 925-838-1801

They have a 04 Yellow E Gear with 25k miles. I think they want 79k..

  11. Wanted to update the thread with more info. The complete LOC exhaust system weighed 23 lbs when it arrived at the door... that includes the large box and all packing materials. It is super light. The build quality and welds were amazing. The inner welds were all grinded down to make sure there were no air flow disruptions.

    Here are some pictures.

The system was purchased from JeffLambo on the site here and I feel it was a more then reasonable price and the exhaust arrived early... gotta love that service. Thanks Jeff (http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showuser=12887)

Congrats! Sounds very good. The LOC system looks like straightpipes almost.
