Gotta assume these weren’t built for shits and giggles. Doubt they’re heading into a Stage 3+...
Didn't it get posted awhile back that someone in Texas bought two billet blocks to put in a Stage 3? lol

Works of art...

It was crazy to hear that car spin the tires in every gear. Just imagine what would have happened with traction!
Mike
Needs more downforce that is trimmable for venues like this

Thanks for the sources

Did the Red DCT car make it to the event? Looking forward to more power tomorrow for the Drag365 car

Really close race! I believe the owner stated the GT-R was stock in one of these videos

You realize the word quirky often has a positive connotation, right? You still aren't contributing anything to this thread. I've sat in McLarens but never driven one. I'm not qualified to make statements about ergonomics other than I think the seats are nice and the view out front is excellent. I don't have any issue with switchgear placement either. But continue on shitting on things and people without furthering the value of this thread. I have no idea what the Senna seats are like though. Maybe you do... Do you not like the steering wheel shape or adjustment? Pedal placement? Just say it. I have no idea
-
My question was for VCR. You added absolutely nothing to this thread, and I'm genuinely curious as to what the ergonomic quirkiness is. Is he referring to paddle position or size, switch placement, seat design, pedal placement. What? Would be courteous to give a straight answer. PS, I was completely right about the GT2RS as it was obvious to everyone who read about that car and had knowledge of the Cup 2R tire. I try to stay as far from subjective opinions as possible. The vast majority of what I post is regarding objective data. This VCR statement really intrigues me though. It's something I haven't heard in over 4 years of paying attention to McLaren.
Quirky doesn't even necessarily mean bad.

You claimed to have designed many things for several manufacturers so you ought to know.
More like I've never heard of anyone ever having problems with it. Why don't you pitch in Fortis and explain it for all of us instead of being unconstructive?
-
What's wrong with the ergonomics?
-
I hope this makes it to Pikes Peak next year to smash the record. Imagine the acceleration with lower gearing :0

Yes. Senna seats and suspension.
Pricing should start around $240 and a well-spec car around $275k.
This is one of the best looking machines I have ever seen. Really does it for me.
Senna seats are an option. Just to correct you, it has the double wishbones from the 720S and 720S brakes, not Senna suspension. It's also still the super series non-hydraulic suspension and has anti roll bars. Exhaust flames come standard!
This will be a driver's car, probably more fun than a 675LT.
It has latest generation bespoke Trofeo R. Will be grippy

I know you guys used to soft launch for half mile. Is that still the case?
-
But in this case, the #3 is the world beater

I think there are plenty of people waiting for the Spider or LT version. I don't blame them.

Haha, 3D printed Titanium blocks. J/k

That's a class specific bracket car, so power isn't everything.
The car can be optioned with 4" wide front tires and a race gas pcm... no shit it's a one trick pony, that's what it was meant to be from day one. On the decent concrete with good tires i'd bet it can hang with the 720, but at your average stoplight it's far from the quickest thing around. It's a track car, and on a prepped strip it will put the wood to all of them, as it should. Most people here couldn't give half a fcuk about that, so this obviously isn't a car that will interest them.
Dodge has been very upfront about what this car is, and isn't. Apply the appropriate expectations and it's exactly what they intended it to be.
I haven't seen anyone hit Dodge's claimed time on any prepped track. Quickest and fastest I've seen is a 9.933 at 136.79 mph, and that was with ET street R tires and racegas. A 720S ran a 9.7 with race gas. Yeah, it's close, but put the wood to them? Even on skinnies, stripped, 840 hp tune, etc, the answer is no so far.
Fikse's car on Corsa tires has gone as fast as the fastest Demon out there currently, and that's on pump gas. And it can do more than go straight.

How much can the block really handle? Say if someone wanted to go methanol, lol
-
I meant it all makes sense what happened to that wing because I’ve seen it come off the trailer and after that, I never saw it again.
Shit, sorry, misread you. I thought they took the wing off for less drag. lol. How did Elon put it? Rapid unscheduled disassembly
-
In regards to the wing issue, I've seen another aftermarket company crack the whole base plate above 160mph+. You have to have some kind of support and brackets to handle the heavy load that pushes on the rear OEM piece or even if its replaced in carbon I suspect that could crack to.
I'm trying out a small lip on the back of my car which I'm sure will be fine since I don't plan on going over 200mph. Go ahead and push on the rear OEM deck and so how it moves, while that happens as you speed a lot more.
Chassis mounted is the only way to go if really serious. Even Voltex lost a trunk mounted wing at WTAC, and they had years of motorsports experience. Then the weakest link is the attachment to the wing itself. The motorsports stands are super beefy. Seeing those GoPro vids of the rear deck is a bit disturbing. You don't want your wing attached to that...
-
I've never heard of them before. Thanks
-
LMAO, it all makes sense now
It does? I don't have a lambo. And if you look at my posts, I am one of UGR's biggest cheerleaders
-
We tried to use a wing from an good aftermarket company and it flew apart at 230. We will never use anything but OEM for now on as far as the larger wings.
Which manufacturer? So that we may all avoid a repeat. Did the wing fail or the support fail?
-
Yeah, but then you have an APR frame mounted wing on your Lamborghini
True, but at least it'd be a lot cheaper for similar/higher downforce, and chassis mounted. At least on a shop car, it'd be a easy and revertible way to see the effect of varying amounts of downforce on traction. Or maybe a Huracan GT3 wing

Whoa whoa whoa, wait a second. They've done a run/runs with big tire and UGR hasn't told us what it ran? What a fcuking tease.
Drag365 Huracan fast as fcuk in the roll racing today. Too bad it lost at the start
