Kevin, you won. There is no dispute. The R8 was in front of the GTR the entire time. No dispute. I did see the video. It was an awesome race. The R8 (and all your cars for that matter) are amazing. I simply posted the datalog to show that there was a sensor issue which was being questioned in the post I quoted. I was sticking up for Tony who is a stand up guy. You know that too. He is not trying to take anything away from your win. You won! There is no question. He is however sharing his data with the GTR community. He is a technical guy that enjoys the science behind making cars quick and enjoys sharing that with others too. Again, congrats. You guys kicked ass and are the King Of The Streets!

Yes, I am the driver. I am not mad in the least bit. How could I be? I won TI KOTS back to back which nobody else has. Now that is a good record to have! To me, the speed records really do not mean much. You simply cannot make comparisons when there is a huge variable like distance and time spent accelerating involved. It is an interesting number but does not tell the whole story. I am happy that T1 was able to represent the GTR as well as he did. Tony kicked ass. Kevin kicked more ass. Congrats.

Quite common to have issues when turning the boost up higher than it ever has been. Higher boost equals higher cylinder pressure which equals more resistance across the spark plug gap which equals more prone to misfire. Pretty easy to see why the car could make 2100+ WHP and then be turned up and make less... especially with the MAP sensor issue. Love the R8. Sebastian is a lucky guy. That is one bad ass car that I wished I owned. Congrats to you, him and UGR on the win. You guys are at the top of the game! Looking forward to meeting up again in the spring.

We are just happy and honored to be a part of this event. Shocked actually that we won. We went into this past event really feeling like we would be underdogs. UGR came out swinging with rolling antilag, traction control and air shifted dogboxes. Fortunately for us, the GTR just seems to ET better. 215 at TI would be really crazy. I think that would be pretty tough to do... especially RWD. I would love to see it. I would shake their hand and congratulate them for an amazing build and achievement. -

Yes, that is very true. The liability is just too great. That is why we do events like TI that simulate street racing in a controlled environment. -

The small brakes on the rear are actually more grippy than the stock brakes. I had to go to a C pad to cut the friction down. The reason for the parachute is because I like to stop quickly. Quite a few cars (even lambos with factory brakes) did not stop prior to the active runway. This happened enough that they implemented a new rule on day 2 where you were disqualified if you went through the cones into the active runway. The speed and weight of these cars make the shutdown area pretty tight. With everyone turning up the power, at the next TI it will be interesting to see how everyone will be stopping. -

The ET Street is a bias ply slick that has tread. The ET Street Radial has sidewall support like any other radial tire would. This is a 100% DOT approved street tire. Here is a picture of the two next to each other for a visual reference. http://speednik.com/files/2014/05/IMG_6815.jpg I am curious what you mean by "never has and never will run on the actual street"? There are tons of video of the car driving all over the place. It was actually driven to and from the hotel at the TI event.
