looks like gintani was  misleading you or didn't want to sell to you,  he is acting a bit funny regarding the SVJ exhaust not wanting to show the design and stuff.  but yeah, I saw on the gintani insta page that he has indeed made an exhaust for his SV.

And it has two exit pipes like Stardropper....hmmm....

Make sure you get a dyno before and after.  The design of that exhaust definitely is not conducive to making power and most likely you are losing a good bit.

I spoke to maker of the exhaust "Brilliant"  and he said "my only concern is sound, i dont care if it loses power."   That did not sound comforting to me.

It does sound glorious though but not at the cost of losing power. Aventador is already "slow" compared to todays exotics and sure as hell dont want to have less power.

Well looks like that may happen. I have a dyno shop that wants to do a collaboration with my mechanic shop on displaying all aspects of this exhaust on social media. So we will know once and for all just how much hp is loss to have this glorious sound.

To each his own, but the Aventador is already "slow" compared to the current supercars and the last thing I want is to be even slower lol.   I would not even  mind if it didnt gain power but at least not lose any.  It blows my mind that Lambo owners drop $8-12k on exhaust and install, but dont spend $200 to dyno their cars before and after, like wtf lol

I totally get your point and I agree with you. I went back and forth for weeks on deciding to sell my stardropper to someone else because people were scaring me about the horsepower loss. I literally thought for hours on this decision. I think what tipped the scale for me was realizing that we are way behind on the power curve at this point with the car world (as you mentioned), that racing just about anyone will yield a bad loss. So my thinking is that a 10-20 pony loss is not gonna change anything since we're so far at the bottom. So I decided to keep the Stardropper. Also, I'm hoping my ecu tune will help neutralize the loss.

are you referring to this video? I had this bookmarked, its a fun video to watch

btw, the Kreissieg makes an amazing sound, an amazing reverberating sound at full throttle at the top end, but I've noticed that the  low to mid range is very lacking due to a design flaw of the system.

Yep it's hard to give the AV a high top without a raggedy bottom. Ask Gintani and Kreissieg.

Do you still have the Kriesseig exhaust?

No, I have Capristo on right now.  Smoother sound. I felt the best "all around" exhaust out, until I heard Stardropper. I didn't know how to get Stardropper so when i heard Gintani copied it, i tried him out. But he couldn't deliver. However I'm so glad i finally found a way to Stardropper thanks to effspot and lambo_jesus.

    Yes, thanks Sup!

I've had all those saved to my phone for years as well. Ever since EFFSPOT and his videos 2-3 years ago brought Stardropper into the limelight.

BRILLIANT EXHAUST is the actual private label manufacturer of Stardropper.

I ordered mine back in July this year and it is now installed. It is the first on any Aventador in the United States.

Many clips on my insta (@Lambo_Jesus) already, and many more to come :D

And I will be the second. :-)

But I'm not an IG/YT type guy, so that doesn't even matter, lol. You and Doc can have the limelight, I just want the sound. :-)

  7. Well this thread now has a conclusion..... Turns out Gintani couldn't make the exhaust for other models. I waited 2 months on my order to find out that he promised something that couldn't be delivered. He gave me a refund. At least he can do SVJ's though.

BTW Stardropper (Brilliant by Sasaki-san) does not weigh 80kg. Lambo_Jesus is installing his today and he said the whole box with packing didn't weigh 30lbs.

The ones that don't purely neck down to 1 pipe. The following have a minimum of 2.5" for each bank throughout the entire exhaust:

Akrapovic; Fabspeed; Quicksilver; Tubi Inconel Capristo; Kline; Novitec (non-race)

Well if power is the main concern, out of all these you mentioned, Capristo sounds the best.

And btw, there are some who would risk your "alleged" Stardropper power loss for that insane sound. Just check out Lambo_Jesus...he's installing his today.

I kind of disagree. It’s one thing if it made no extra power but sounded amazing.  But how do you know it’s not losing power ?

I’m not sure if you were around or remember but a couple years back when the factory was offering the race exhaust and tune and they claimed that it gained 10% power and now mind you this is factory not some little shop in California i’m not sure if you were around or remember but a couple years back when the factory was offering the race exhaust and tune and they claimed that it gained 10% power and now mind you this is factory not some little shop in California

Well for once the smart buyer had his Aventador dynod the day before the exhaust installation by the dealership and had it immediately dynode after and he lost almost 50 foot pounds of torque in the process and gained 4 whp at 8500 rpm lol.

He was in a battle with factory for months and they had no explanation and at the end of the day they completely removed this option which is why you can no longer but a race exhaust and tune for the Aventador from the factory cause they couldn’t even back up their claim.

I don’t give a damn how good an exhaust sounds if I’m gonna lose 50 ft/lb

Oh I feel you on that. I remember all that. I do have a tune on the ECU for more hp, so that should balance me out.

good point regarding before and after dyno’s. I suppose exhaust buyers that are getting exhausts for the sound aren’t too particularly concerned about power especially when the Lambo’s already have heaps of power. I know that the Stardropper exhaust for SVJ weighs around 80kg!!!! That’s a huge increase over stock.

Having said that, titanium exhaust systems are typically designed to reduce weight which adds performance that can’t be measured on a dyno.

Gintani has a titanium option, but at 18K and an unproven system I stuck with steel.

No they are not. I have spoken to Alex Gintani and he stated that he does not change headers at all but that he "extends the headers." This statement which I have asked on two separate occasions makes absolutely no sense because it means nothing.  "extending the headers" is the same thing as attaching cat delete pipes right after the header which is "extending" the header.

The issue with many of these shops are that they are making exhaust for sound or fire and cracks and pops.  Ask one of them to post a before and after dyno. All these hops have dynos.  Do you wonder why they never post a before and after but post 75 videos of other things?

Makes more sense. Thanks for explaining.

Fortunately for me, I'm only interested in the sound and not the horsepower.

  12. 18 minutes ago, martz said:

so not an SVJ? As I believe the sound characteristics between SVJ and non SVJ is substantially different. i.e. I don't think powercraft on non SVJ is comparable to same on SVJ

True. And actually we don't know what the other models are capable of in sound until they get this pipe design. So I will definitely be posting my results when my pipes come in. That was the whole point of this thread....can Gintani produce for me what he promised....we shall see.

  13. 2 minutes ago, whiteout said:

SVJ has different exhaust manifolds & cat pipe design than the others. So it likely won't be exactly the same, but it shouldn't be difficult to mimic.

This is exactly what I kept telling Gintani in our 30 minute discussion, but he kept promising me over and over that the other models will sound even better. I kept making him promise and guarantee it so many times that he eventually said I don't know what else to say that will get you to trust me....

After he said that, I took the gamble and ordered the exhaust. So we shall see if he keeps his word on this.

That may be the best road car exhaust note I've ever heard

I know right! I'm surprised more buzz isn't being made about this because it could be a game changer for the legacy of the Aventador. No longer will people say "The Murcie was the last great sound of Lamborghini".

Ugh, so tired of hearing that.
