  1. Had the car out todady. Noticed that the fan only runs in one speed (seems as high), and can't be turned off... Could this be the fan speed regulator??
  2. Hi I found this electrical relay in my diablo, which someone have disconnected: It is typed: Lucas 12V Made in UK H and stamped: 33490B 0680 I have searched the manual, but haven't had luck sourcing what it is for. All advises are welcome... I have had the box opened, and the electronic seems burned :-(
  3. Could very well be the solenoid - Please read my tread: http://www.another board.com/vbforum/f4...iy-tread-14399/ To remove the solenoid from the starter, you will have to dismantle the starter from the engine. However you can't get the starter out without removing the engine from the car. A previus owner of my car had cut a hole in the wall between the engine bay, and the "oilfilter/battery compartment". Heres a picture taken from the oilfilter-acces hole: This alloved me to remove the complete starter without remowing the engine. It was a fairly simple job. Without this hole, you still might be able to change the starter solenoid. You will need to remove the starter from teh engine - and through the small acces from down under the car loosen the 2 screws holding the solenoid to the starter. The solenoid is a cheap part - BOSCH 0331402503 You can find it on the german ebay: Solenoid
  4. My former 1978 Lotus Esprit with 160 HP could follow a Golf VR6... IMO I wouldn't even notice if an VR6 tried... :-)
  5. Had the car on the road, and the new HT cords has really made it run great without any misfires at all! best 67 euro spent on the car so far :-)
  6. I bought a lot of cords from ebay, and made up at set. Pulling the old cords from the cap, I discovered, that 4 of them was corroded. Cleaned all contact points and replaced all 14 cables - haven't had the chance to drive the car yet, but started the engine up, and it ran fine. Thanks for all input - I will let you know how it goes.
  7. Sounds great - could you help me get in contact with him?
  8. Hello fellow Diablo owners I'm seaching for new spark plug wires for my 1992 Diablo. Could any of you recommend where I could source these?
  9. Which cylinder bank did you lose when this happend? My 1993 Diablo lost the left bank last weekend, and I had to leave it far from home... looking forward to get the chance to go thorugh the car soon... I have the rotor under suspision... I found this from the Jaguar cars: http://www.jag-lovers.org/xj-s/book/Marelli_pix.html Seems as a common problem.

Looks very nice indeed! Ejner - I have some trouble with my Diablo - It's stumbling on the acceleration during hard acceleration only - the ! lights up in the light cluster, so I gues the engine somehow is being cutted?
  11. Got the starter motor out - it's a BOSCH 0 001 362 104 - I tested the starter, and the motor runs fine - the solenoid is faulty. The solenoid is BOSCH 0331402503 - I think I have found one on ebay at 56 € + postage - since the dismantle of the starter motor was an 1 hour job, I think I'm going for the replacement of the solenoid as fix, and reinstall...
  12. Thanks - And think you are absolutely right :-) ... will be a good project car and if not... there will be a lot of spares for sale soon :-D ... luckaly I didn't pay much for her...
  13. I asked myself the same question - who takes out the engine to do a fully rebuild and the do not change a defect starter motor? This starter motor did only partial work - i.e. with a bit of knocking on it... startet taking it out this weekend, and I can see, that there has been cut an "acces-hole" so it should be possible to get it out without taking the engine out... I have gone through the car and it actualy is in better condition that I expected taking the low price in mind... :-)
  14. You are so right... Didn't pay a fortune for her, so I hope I can turn her into a beauty once again... I was just currius if anyone knew if the car had been really badly damaged before.
