  1. Hi Fellas - First off, Happy New Year to all. I've got a Nero Alderaban coupe which I've had for some time. The car has tan seats and so I specced the calipers to match the seats. I'm getting a little bored of the rather staid caliper colors and I've done yellow and red many times before on other cards, so I'm thinking to coat them lime green. Think it would look very trick against the gloss black exterior work. Anybody go down the same route, or have pictures of vehicles that have lime green caliper colors? Any other caliper color combos you would recommend? Yes, I am aware of the tri-colore caliper option as well, but don't fancy it myself. Thanks in advance! Best.
  2. Nice detective work Supercar Ace! Riddle me this: is Rosso Efesto the same color that the launch Aventador SV was wearing, the one that has been paraded around to different countries for their respective launches of this model, and which has graced numerous magazine covers?
  3. As always, I get confused by the number of "red" tones that Lambo makes. Can y'all advise what red tone you think this is (link below)? Car looks stunning from the exterior. Paint looks like it's got metallic flake in it. Best.
  4. Duh -- should have thought to check out eBay. Thanks for the reminder. I did take a peek there just now and it does seem that around $10k is where many of them are at. Hi Lubejobs42, I have sent you an email. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
  5. Been living with the stock coupe Aventador wheels for while and want to mix it up a bit. So if anybody has a pair of Spider wheels they are willing to part with, please let me know. Could the US-based guys also let me know what their dealers have quoted them for a set, for anybody that may have inquired before. Thanks.
  6. Wow, that's said with a lot of authority. Well let's hope so...cause I just pulled the trigger.
  7. Sure, I'd love to hear about this. Didn't think leasing was that active a business in Singapore although I do understand leasing has heated up given recent government actions that have increased the price of cars within the city even higher than the crazy levels they were previously at. Since you're located here (so it seems from your profile) please free to send me a PM with the details. Thanks in advance. Regards.
  8. Sign of the times, I guess. No choice. Literally.
  9. For those of you that don't know, cars in Singapore are fk'in expensive due to all the taxes and import duties they place on vehicles given that they want to restrict the car population. The market is also very small and reasonably illiquid. Lastly, the government has recently put in place measures to further cool the market that include limits to loan values and tenors. All of this has put a freeze on the local sales, and Dealers are crying because inventory is not moving. Because of this, I do have a good opportunity from the local Lambo dealer to move on a new Aventador. The price is good (not great), but my concern is what to expect come early next year. I see three possible scenarios: SCENARIO 1: Early next year, a face-lifted Aventador is announced. The current model was rolled-out in early 2011 so early 2015 (4 years) is about the right time to offer a face-lift. If I buy the current model Aventador today, and a facelift comes out early next year, I'm gong to get fk'd as the market for this model Aventador will dry up and I'll be sitting on large losses...if I can move the car at all. Plus it sucks to buy a car just before a facelift. SCENARIO 2: The announcement early next year relates to an Aventador variant. Meaning not a facelifted version of the base Aventador, but an "SV" or another special edition. In this case, the base Aventador (ie, the one I am possibly looking to purchase) would continue as is for at least another year and I'd be a happy camper. SCENARIO 3: The announcement early next year is not about the Aventador or a variant of it at all but rather about, say, the Huracan Spider. In this scenario, I am once again happy that the base Aventador remains untouched. An alternative to this scenario is that no announcement is made whatsoever early next year but I would find that hard to believe give that Lambo always seems to make an announcement early in the year so that the new cars are delivered by Sept onwards. *** If I were a betting man -- which I'm not -- I would suspect that Scenario A is most likely, that we're going to see a facelifted Aventador by early next year. The four-year cycle makes sense to me, as does the fact that they are rolling out special editions (50th year anniversary, etc.) this year. If you believe this, then I would be best served to hold off on purchasing the current model. Yes, I'll pay more for the facelift, but at least it will be liquid in the sub-sale market, and I won't lose my shirt over a short period of time vis-a-vis depreciation. Again, all of this is in the context of the Singapore high-end vehicle market dynamics, so apologies in advance if any of the logic sounds strange to you. Unfortunately for my wallet, I've bought enough cars here to know that this is the way the market works. What are your thoughts? I really need to understand group consensus. I've started a poll. Feel free to give your input.
  10. Thanks King-640 for that clarification. It was helpful. Best.
  11. Clear as mud! Don't both Pearl and Metallic shine?
  12. Can anybody help me understand the differences between the two shades. Or put two Aventadors side-by-side, showing the difference in pantone. I am debating between the two but have not been provided a great explanation on the shade differences and so am hard-pressed to differentiate. Thanks in advance. Best.
  13. I am surprised to see references to an end production number, ie. "/4000". No manufacturer can predict with absolute certainty where they will end production, as it depends on a number of internal and exogenous factors, many of the external factors being out of anybody's control (economy, regulation, etc.). Could somebody confirm whether Lambo has stated they will seek to produce 4,000 units of the Avendator? The other thought that came to my mind is that since the Huracan is so capable, it is starting to creep up on the Aventador in performance terms. It therefore seemed logical to me that a Huracan Spider and Aventador facelift / power lift could be announced next year.
  14. Hi All - I can't remember when exactly the Aventador was launched but I believe it was in '10 or '11. In that case '14 would mark the 3rd or 4th year of the model. Does that mean we are likely looking at a facelift announcement in Geneva next year with deliveries of the facelifted model by mid/end 2015? I believe they will save the SV version for the end of the model year run, in another 4 years or so. Tried to search on this topic but didn't seem to find anything. Look forward to your thoughts. Regards.
